What Is Going On With Atlas?

I'm aware of recent Hit-Box Revision, but something is not right.
I remember ATLAS used to be a thing that no one would engage 1 vs 1 in close combat.
Where are you ATLAS pilots? Please comment!

Your positioning and ability to predict where the battle is going to occur will be at the forefront of piloting an atlas.
Having said that, MWO focuses more on firepower than defensive (ie, armour). Light mechs can take you down with precision shots much easier than TT.
Ensure you put ammo in your legs / head. Avoid XL engines for the slow movers. Equip AMS and ECM / BAP where you can. And try and stay with your team and close to cover.
Hell even ask for a wingman, I am always happy to ride shotgun for a big guy in my support mechs and hang 100 meters back to cover his six. I usually do it without being asked anyway
Enjoy

However, it doesn't ignore the fact that you have to learn how to torso twist defensively better as the large arms of the Atlas is key in reducing the damage dealt to the side torsos. If you're a Boar's Head though.... it's not really a viable solution...

Nothing says "Shoot Here" like an AC 20 barrel sticking out of a torso.

I've learned that methods long ago, since closed Beta. I wouldn't bring this discussion up if everything was ok.
Whenever I turn my torsos and trying to use arms to block incoming damage for some reason the enemy still hit my side torso. Any comment on that? Please?

Without even opening your loadouts, your first problem is that you have an Atlas K, without having the other D and RS variants. Having said that, your D-DC is 2.5 tons short and you only have two tons of AC20 ammo. Also, you have WAY too much armor on the legs.
Other than that, it's not too bad...especially once SRMs get fixed (in a year).

I heard armor values were doubled from TT. Don't know if it was true.

Yes, but not the same degree as firepower and FPS takes away the hit location of TT (ie, hit what you shoot at) which is effectivily a multiplier of firepower applied.

If I'm in my Atlas in a PUG match, no way am I in front. You just can't trust them to back you up so I let other people initiate the charge and then come through swinging the hammer.

Nothing truly wroung with any of your builds they need a bit of tweeking, I would add more ammo for the DDC, K think everyone hates the K but your builds ok add a tweek below not got a clue with the BH as i not got one.

Well the arms don't obscure the torso 100% as I'm sure you know, so a good or lucky shot will still hit the torso. Another reason is good old fashion lag. Basically what you see and what the server sees is not always the same thing. You might see a shot coming and twist in time to block it but it's possible that as far as the server was concerned the shot landed before you managed to get your arm in the way.
