That's because the 3V has so much armor, and structure quirks, it's almost tankier than a firestarter.

Locust armor theory is terrifying if you are not accustomed to locusting. The main idea is that your speed is your best defense and armor is just there to protect you from "laser tickles" if you take a full alpha from anything you are dead anyway. So, drop some armor and add as many weapons and a 190xl engine and never stop moving. Plus as Iraqiwalker said, the 3v has some great armor quirks.

Gratz, bro. Now throw on 2 flamers, 2 mgs and a flamer range module 5. You get ~150m range with the flamers.

It is a TERRIBLE build, but TERRIBLY fun. Flame spraying someone from over 100m is almost as good as announcing your presence from behind hills with a huge jet of pyrotechnics. My record so far is 3 kills, with 1 kill from an arty strike. Bring at least 3 tons of MG ammo because the flamers do almost zero damage.

I second that for ultimae fun.

You have to see it that way: Getting 4+ kills and 700+ dmg in a Firestarter isn´t even satisfying anymore, getting a kill hosing a Metawolf in Flames and Bullets is definitely fun

i think my urbie-ing has cost me my locust mojo- tried a few drops yesterday in the PB and 3V (cause they're not mastered yet) and even the ol 3S- barely broke 100 dmg in all of them. think i got 200 with the 3V after surviving 12 minutes of the match.

also urbies have spoiled me- trying to turn to follow something running past and then i'm like "what the hell?" when the turn stops at 200 degrees or so.

This is my 1000th post and there is no one I would rather share it with than my friends on the Underrated Locust thread. Now that I have completed the elite forumwarrior skill tree should I be expecting a 15% bonus on all of my likes and a 20% increase in font size whenever I am quoted?

Last match, last night and it had to be a quick one took my pirates bane dropped on forest colony and went on a suicide mission ran through the tunnel from the waterside base up to the cluster of buildings at its exit. Came across a tw, a cn9-ah, a raven and shortly after another tw. Got some pot shots with my xl180 2mpl + 2spl build in dropped an arty on them which encouraged them into the buildings. Launched a uav so my team eventually came to my aid and distracted one of the timbys i got behind him and rear cored it. Anyway match went on and my armour all but gone i managed another kill (the raven) before dicing with a cowardly stalker who'd been hiding. Silly me shut down right next to him.

Oh well was much fun, having a blast lately in lights really liking my max xl engined deaths knell running around flat out at 171kph.

Working on Commandos myself right now as well.

Got the TDK and 2D past basics, and now I'm working on a 3A.

Had 4 200-400 damage and multiple kill matches with the 3A so far. Turns out that thing can spit SRMs like a freaking Huginn. Love the others too. Seriously, why did I wait so long to play my Commandos?

I previously used my TDK with std 200 and four mediums or xl200 2xerll but being a speed freak i had to max the engine. So glad i did, any assualt mech that isn't escorted is cannon fodder. My 2D is the classic streakmando, not the most lethal but effective enough. The 1B is quite good.

Locust and commando make a very good pair when hunting in packs unfortunately there isn't enough armour on the TDK's arms and my PB has about 1 point of armour on each arm as they're redundant anyway.
