I was cracking up when I read that, too.

Just had a good match a few minutes ago, I ended up winning it for the team after it ended up a 1v1 with me against a kit fox.

Only caught the last 3 minutes via raptr, but here it is:

Any comments on my play are welcome, I know I need to work on a few things mechanically, but it was clear by the time I legged the kitfox that the game was over.

<shameless plug>

Fellow 20-ton nutters, I've completed my efforts at theorycrafting the Flea for MWO. If you want it in the game, I'd maybe Tweet Russ about it. ;)

For the love of all that is good, 6mg/5sl. So glorious! I can only imagine the feverish rage and QQing from the assault pilots if his was released. PGI would have to nerf machine guns again :D

I really love my 1V (the first mech I mastered) but for some reason I am having a really good time in the 3V - the damn thing can TANK! Simple 2 MPL's and 2MG's - you won't rack up huge numbers until end of match when armor is stripped, but it can really aggravate assault and heavy mechs when you take the hits and keep going.

The 3V has about as much protection as a 35 ton light mech.

Got my first ^ arrow loss today. In my Locust 1E. 700+ damage, 400+ score. Made me happy. It was an intense match.

Was being driven mad levelling a quickdraw and consecutive losses hardly killing a thing watching my psr and k/d ratio drop with i think about 10:2 loss ratio.

Jumped into my pirates bane instant two kills (direwales are so satisfying to kill) 350+ damage and a win. Next game then get shot in the back and killed by a teammate timberwolf tool. Sigh. This game really is fooked.

Good piloting. Good use of cover and seismic. Many people say you have to "be moving all the time" as a light - this is very false, and you show why. Sometimes you want to check the seismic, other times it's best to wait in cover to ambush or to let him run a bit before you poke out so he's not ready and waiting for you. I tend to stand still a lot in a Locust. Very rarely to I get surprised with the one-shot alpha.

My one recommendation is to work more on firing while you move. You had a few shots where you were staying still to take aim at the KFX's leg while he was looking at you. Staying still in sight of an enemy will get you killed, so work on making those shots land as you are dodging or at least running at a decent deflection angle. When the enemy is not looking at you, by all means sit still to line up the shot.

Good piloting, average gunnery. Work on shooting while scooting. Overall good stuff. I think piloting is the most important and fun skill in driving a Locust. The shooting is kind of boring in my mind.

I'd say we insist on the "you should always be moving" line, because we see how much people stand still, so it becomes a strong reaction. If you stop, it's to check seismic, and your surroundings, but don't stand still in the open for a solid 10 seconds.

When I was very new, someone gave me the advice: Never stop moving. There are times you can hold still but they are situational and difficult to explain clearly. So for now, never stop moving.

It was good advice.

Actually, if you reverse, seismic will ping as well during the brief moment you're at zero. So, you know. Don't stop. Just go back and forth.

I have now made this a real Tinder account. Those within 100 miles of Baltimore, feel free to try and match. Fair warning, Locust is picky and prefers only mechs with large, lower rear CTs.
