Can totally vouch for SRM boating like this!

...

-looks back at SRM6x4 locust- I feel guilty now. They said I could boat anything, but I didn't want to boat something. I wanted to be a Torpedo Boat. And before you ask, yes, I did actually pilot this thing once. Powered down in snowblind frozen city, and then unloaded into an unwary enemy LCT that came out of the tunnel. The tears of rage were delicious.

Ok, I am sold! Xl180, 4-srm2, 3.5t ammo, ftw!

I think the current 3S's cooldown times with 8 tubes (4x2) are actually closer to the old Huginn's numbers than the new Huginn's are. 3S's rate of fire is faster with 8 tubes than the current Huginn is with 8 tubes (has to be 2x4, of course, and it can't articulate them vertically). Used to be the other way around because of the monster SRM4 quirk.

Put differrently, (IS) SRM-brawler/striker light rankings:
1. Jenner Oxide
2. LCT-3S? (faster on all counts)
3. RVN Huginn? (tankier, bigger launchers, JJs?)

I'd certainly take the Locust first these days for trulz, but maybe that's just me.

Edit: Oops, consolidated a double-post :(

I agree, I never had much luck in the Huginn and I don't have any Jenners, but my locusts tend to be the lights I am most comfortable in.

Yes, yes! Good!

Let the SRMs flow through you >:3

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhxcellent.

Down this road lies only pain (both the familiar LCT pain, and a big dose to be felt by your soon-to-be victims). Embrace The Ways of the SRM-cust wholeheartedly and you shall be rewarded.

Been getting bored of losses lately and lots of them jump in my trusty locusts and bang great games again. Im beginning to think locusts are the only mech i can successfully rely on.

Also been driving a wolfhound 1b lately and ive been liking the dual ams to protect the team from lurms which are all the rage again so ive treated my 3m to a pair. Point blank ams is great.

What else are you running on your 3M with dual AMS? MLs, SPLs?

An inquiring mind wants to know ;)

I think mad kat's talking about the WLF when he talks about dual AMS.

I always like my 3M with 4 med laser and dual AMS, I mean, if you have the option, why not!

And I can vouch for the WLF-1B, run mine pretty stock w dual AMS, just hang with the fatties and assist.

Thanks for the hints on polar highlands, will try to get in the right mind set. Another thing I noticed: Using external view, used with caution it allows to look over edges without exposing yourself (although it might give away your position). Might be worth another try. Going totally white for Polar Highlands seems a bit risky(considering the othe maps). I'd try some light greys. Perhaps with a bit of blue or green.

What about getting a 180XL engine? It has one more internal DHS (reducing it's net weight cost to "half a ton") and internal DHS are more effective then external ones (unless they patched this in the last few weeks).

(Oh and 1 point of head armor ist really needed, whenever I try to go topless, some airstrike will hit the ton of MG ammo I store under the pilots seat.)

Do what you want. I'm just telling you what worked for me. It still goes almost 150, and I still get more armor by a bunch, which is great with all the giga drill laser boats out there these days. No sense in letting them do more than scratch the paint, eh boys?

Also, shame on you for letting an airstrike so much as TOUCH you in a LCT. That's bad situational awareness.

I actually broke down and painted it GB white and SJ grey for the camo. I'm gonna miss that green and red paint job though.

To the SRM crowd: I really like my 6X6 Jenner IIC. No quirks, not enough ammo really, but 35 tons of fun. I painted it with my traditional ianchi glow in the dark vomit green and mixed in a red and yellow on a Jag faction pattern. It looks like it has some kind of hellish chicken pox. Plus, that 72 point FLD alpha. <3

6x6 is a really powerful assassin build, but it has nearly no sustain. If you can't kill them in that 4-second 144 damage double alpha, you really gotta hope your Jenner isn't skipping leg day...

I get away with it more often than not. Just make sure you're ready to run, or if you just HAVE to kill them because it's too delicious, bring a cool shot. I usually get at least 2 KMDDs.

Xl180 and 5 mediums currently. The 1e is the 6spl boat. The 3m runs hot mind with minimum heatsinks and i have to toggle the ams on and off depending on situation to deal with the small ammo bin.

I used to run my 3M with 3 MLs when I mounted 2 AMS.

Ugh. 5ml build makes me sad. Might as well be driving a JJ-less Jenner.

Awesome and Banshee seem ok though.

Certainly not full price, maybe in the inevitable sale.

Locust. Mastery. Pack.

Time to elucidate. Educate. Propagate. Disseminate. Infuriate. And urinate the Locust greatness on the scrub masses.

The 5ML build was deemed the more "noob-friendly"

and I ran into a STD engine locust a month or two ago. It literally made me pause for 2-4 seconds, as I processed what just happened.
