OK, having an issue here...

Tried to log in at about 2:40 pm CST (which should be about 12:40 pm PST) and I received a message stating "This account is not authorized."

Am I misreading the times given, or is there an issue with my account?

Anyone have any [helpful] ideas? I'd like to get in for the evening event, at least.

Morning test ended over an hour ago.

Good to know. So, the time were incorrectly labeled as PST, and I should be hitting the server at the listed time with no offset? (I'm in CST.)

EDIT: Also, thank you for the assistance.

It's correctly labeled.. as the test ended @ an hour ago, which was 12PM PST.

This is equivalent to 1PM Mountain(?) time, 2PM Central, 3PM Eastern. I suggest you consult a time zone clock if you are unsure.

The easiest way to check server time is using this page.

Interesting... people complain constantly about PGI not listening to feedback...

Then they participate in a public test, where the link to the proper feedback thread(s) is immediately adjacent to the DL link.

Any then they post their feedback somewhere entirely different, where nobody cares, and completely disregard teh official feedback threads and polls.

And then they return to complaining about how PGI never listens to them.... ;)

Now you're grasping Forumite logic.

Funny.

PGI said they listened to our feedback on UI2 yet the single most repeated comment about UI2 has been its counter intuitive.

So the only explanation I can come up with is we "players are too stupid to see how brilliant UI2 is". So go for it. Put this disorganized click fest of a UI up and see what happens.

I bet with in hours someone will post "UI2 sucks and I'm quitting." Any takers?
I'm takin no more bets, Roadbeer already won.

My apologies. I misread the first post as 12-2, rather than 10-12.

Thank you, again, for your assistance.

Of course the current UI is a little counter intuitive as well, I think mainly its just there are some features that we take for granted now that UI2 doesn't have and hopefully they'll get it right at or very soon after they push it live.

Such as:

- Double clicking to add/remove equipment
- More visible tonnage remaining/tonnage total while configuring a mech
- Ability to see all section's armor at a glance
- etc

Hopefully these are things that could be done quickly and make it in at release or the patch after.

I'd take that bet, but it's only going to be the people who claim they've already quit, and uninstalled, anyway. So... kind of a self-fulfilling prophesy

Since they were going with something closer to Mechwarrior 3... Why didn't they just copy it directly instead of this convoluted Mechlab they came up with? At least MW 3 had a click and screenspace efficient UI.

I was just reading some of the feedback in the correct feedback thread. If your feedback is in the correct format and recognized, Niko Snow will like your post. If the complainers would just scroll through and look at which one's he likes, that will clue them in on how to provide proper constructive feedback.

It's all about form (pretty colors) over function (smurfy's mechlab).

I might actually write this. Can you actually imagine what this game would be like IF the Feb 4th deadline IS met. It's not going to be pretty. Even a number of moderators have taken up the "this mechlab needs work" position (in the public votes). That's how bad this is.

It doesn't help that ANY of the feedback in first two tests to improve the functionality of the mechlab has been ignored.

The position of the mechlab results based on the feedback is effectively... BIRD IS TEH WORD, and we'll do this regardless of what you tell us.

Yes. You're supposed to make UIs simpler and more streamlined. Why they felt the need to enclunkify it is beyond me.

Was anyone begging for 40 identical engine pics to scroll through?

The existing mechlab works fine IMHO. New one is counter-intuitive. Yes there are some complaints of the current lab, but most are easily addressed my reading/ searching the forums. I feel that the time spent by users re-learning the re-invented wheel, would be better used running and gunning ;)

From looking at people's screen caps, it seems to me that U.I. 2.0 is going to be very similar to the Mechwarrior Tactics interface.
