So I was fiddling around with my hunchback-4SP. I took of the missiles and noticed that the racks go away now. So I thought hey. Lets roll with it. Just finished the first test run and it worked nicely.

Puffchest is a 4SP that doesn't use missiles. It looks like he's puffing out his chest. That novelty is my main point of interest regarding this build.

He cools of nicely and fast. First (and only) game I ever played with him raked in 596 damage, 6 kills, 1 assist.

I lost my LTorso and my RTorso was yellow, but I was able to scurry away and manage to sneak in probably 250 more damage and two kills (team was ignoring these mechs with literally red CT's and fully functional so I nipped them in the butt  ) before the match ended. My overall experience was that it felt fast, durable, and dissipated heat at a nice rate that was manageable and was able to return an alpha without much waiting.

I haven't really looked into this mech outside of my toss-together build and pugilicious game, so any feedback would be good. I'm not interested in hearing about other mechs though. I'm aware some can do it better, but I feel the novelty appearance makes this mech fun to pilot.

Thoughts!

I run a similar -4SP (though I kept the missile packs). It seems that few think to mount LL's in one - nice to see someone else doing it to such effect!

I've had success with a similar build. You've inspired me to go back and retry it.

Yaay!!

Edit: Just got finished with the second match., 301 damage, 3 kills, 1 assist. I picked off a blackjack on epsi. It was meant for a quick in and out. I was at 67% and as i was escaping I was met by a perfectly in-tact k2 and was eventually picked apart by his ppcs
It was fun again though!

I kinda wanted to do this with 'Chicago', and lose the 2xLRM15s and trade them in for a twin PPC or even a triple PPC build. I'm going to wait till we get more content before I reinstall though. It's hard to resist, but my will is strong.

At least I still have Smurfy so i can tinker a bit in my garage.

I'm curious if the cockpit becomes more vulnerable to damage with the torso size reduced.

Neat looking but a low slung, beam weapon using, slow, medium mech earns my disapproval.

Hardly have noticed any head damage actually.

The hit box is flat and front facing. Shouldn't be an issue.

Actually, the "redesigned" 4SP with 4 large lasers is lulzy fun. Sometimes emphasis on lulzy, sometimes emphasis on fun. Decided to go back to that after the recent changes, I used to lol around in a 4P with 4-5LLs depending on my mood (before ghost heat).

I still run mine with 2x LRM15 and 5 med lasers. Last 2 games were 4 kills and 6/7 assists and 120-130k cbills (no premium). At least half the kills in each match were after the LRM ammo was empty or someone thought they would get an easy kill on the LRM boat - then they got a 5 laser alpha and decided i wasnt toothless after all.

Might give this laser version a try sometime though, i saw it being run today and it looks fun too.

I prefer this one and have been running it for ages:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fc16c12e912c6ee

I simply prefer the higher speed and the heat is still managable.

Pro tip: Try to get the LL in the higher arm mounted position. To achieve this, the head laser must be added last (!) to the mech. I think it was "LL arm, ML arm, LL arm, ML arm, ML head".

Man, that's literally my crab-back with 3 mls instead and an engine stepped down 5 points. I posted that like last week.

Mine.

Even faster but no AMS since at nearly 100kph mastered, and use of cover makes it not as important. Besides, whenever possible, I escort the ECM on any friendly neighborhood Atlas DDC. They always appreciate a solid wingman who can deal pain out to 500 meters!

*** I put the head laser on it's own group to keep things really cool on most maps.

You should move on of the heatsinks into the engine for better protection.

I miss my srm-6's, but it is a fun build with some ppc's. People just don't seem to know where to shoot.
