I have access to a really good clam chowder recipe... we usually use fresh clams.

I am forced to protest these

Just for clarity... wrestling a salmon from the jaws of a bear does not qualify as "fresh".

Of course not - at that point it is half eaten anyways.

You move about 10-30 yards up/down stream (depending on a variety of factors) then catch your own.
(note: I am no fisherman myself, but am the only male in my family who is not - precise details come from them and may have been remembered wrong)
