As much as I like immersion and realistic effects, I won't vote in this poll because it seems a bit biased and the options are not what I'd personally like to get in the game.

There shouldn't be any steam in the cockpit. BT lore is quite clear on it, it's a murderous dry heat during combat. Give us pilot-effects instead, i.e. tunnel vision, blurring vision etc.

We don't need broken pipes in the cockpit, rather warning lamps and visual feedback on those monitors saying "no input" since forever now. The displays are there, use them to make life a hell when your mech gets shot to pieces.

Cracks in the cockpit glass is a good idea, one we wanted since closed beta.

Button switching is unnecessary IMO, I don't want my pilot to flip switches during combat when I am shooting at enemies, even if it's only a visual effect. Doesn't make sense except for the few times you can't control your mech directly, i.e. during shutdown or if/when collisions are back and you are lying on the ground.

Well not everyone has starleague air conditioning :')

Well steam could be replaced by a shimmer,
maybe the pilot wiping his or her brow when the shutdown sequence Does set in.

oh god, grain film + glass cockpit effect makes for a real messy, unrealistic, blury game so let not add more vaseline and smoke to it.

15% of the people that voted play call of duty and are looking forward to Titan fall.

Is there a problem with people that like different things then you? I HATE COD but that doesn't mean the people who play those games don't get an opinion.

Plus if you aren't at least peripherally interested in titanfall you might want to take a long look at your love of giant robots.

I dont have any film grain, try to lower post processing and the game will be much clearer and for me more enjoyable.

Be honest guys, devs seems to lack competence to make steam and pipes with sparks looking okay in cockpit.

But I was largely disappointed that there are no cracks and scratches on cockpit glass. It happens rarely, but would make it look so much cooler and this would make a game more interesting since this could blind your oponrnt if you aim for the glass.

Uh... they said that was the case with this first implementation of cockpit glass. All the fluff is coming later on.

I would love to see the monitors get distorted and mangled like in MW2 when you get an arm blown off or a critical hit. That would be awesome to see.

But they asked publicly for a poll to gauge the interest. :(

I'm to believe that in 3051 they're too stupid to put the exhaust OUTSIDE the cockpit? Yeah. No. These are cute ideas, but I am against chrome that hurts gameplay. Also, unless said vision obscuring effects affect the third person view, then we're back into arguing about that morass.

The vents are from the Air Conditioning being over stressed, not plasma cooling.
Its not chrome hindering gameplay. It adds a dimension pushing players to better manage heat instead of ignoring it until its 100%....

now heat is a non issue untill its at max, then you override or wait...
gameplay mechanics could be added to make heat more important to mange instead of just running hot hot hot

I would like my HUD to be a little bit less intrusive so I could see my in cockpit screens and the information could be on them. I think that would make it feel more like piloting a mech. You would have to keep your scan up, and be more alert than having everything scream at u in the HUD. Personally I just want crosshairs, compass rose, and target boxes on my HUD. I think that would be cool, but maybe much for the new player base.

Kind of like virtual world pod games, give us some levels of difficulty. Just wondering if anyone else would want something like that?

I wish this game was more like a simulator actually. But that's just me.

Imagine a Mechwarrior game like DCS Black Shark. You have to flip switches with your mouse and control the legs direction/speed with the keyboard.
It would have been awesome. But sadly that's just me dreaming. Maybe the next Mechwarrior game....maybe.

If done well, and semi customisable (for fps reasons), or toggle on/off, could be great.

How about a Poll that we can all the special effects and fix hitreg so weapons actually work correctly.

SRMs have to wait until CW, and PGI asked for a poll allowing them to delay even that until more "polish" gets added. At that pace, we won't have SRMs or a brawling counter for everything else broken in this game until 2016.

So please, more polls giving them more excuses, by all means.

Dear f*cking gods, the LAST thing we need are more layers of BS making it hard to see. Isn't constant film grain and cockpit glass all scratched to hell enough of this sh*t?!?!

Russ, stop f*cking around with things to try to give us some underwhelming sense of immersion, and work on the items that actually matter! Things we've been waiting for since closed f*cking BETA!!!! Community Warfare, consistent hit registration, weapon balance without BS mechanics, lobbies... These are the aspects that need to be worked on! Not another way to f*ck up my view of the damn battlefield. The level of ineptitude that Russ displays in prioritization of development is absof*ckinglutely MIND BLOWING!

This stuff is Mostly art with minimal engineering to get it working. The things you're asking for are mostly Engineering with minimal art.

They can be done simultaneously.

Blood, blood in the cockpit. Any major hit anywhere near the cockpit would shake it so violently that the pilot would be seriously hurt, just like in the board game. A little blood would give us a nice dramatic feel.

Of course, with the option to turn it off, since we have kids playing and all...

About steam inside the cockpit, that´s absurd. It would be well protected against internal enviroment the same way it is from external, or pilots would already be killed in maps like Terra Therma or Alpine Peaks. The cockpit is a well fortified chamber placed in the vehicle. Many military vehicles already has this system today, we´re not talking about WWII anymore. So imagine in a world with mech technology.

Now, if we´re talking about DAMAGE in the cockpit chamber, than that´s something interesting. We could have ALL our pilot and mech skills annulated if cockpit is seriously damage to pretend enviroment is affecting pilots. Except, of course, in maps with a nice temperature. I would vote for that. Shooting the cockpit would be a great strategic and reality based feature then.

You twit. You absolute twit. With a signature like that, and by saying something like that in such a manner, nobody is going to take you seriously. What you say essentially comes across as 'Poor me, I'll have to deal with more effects, it's going to be too hard, it's not what I want, boo hoo'. As Albatroz said, these things are more art related and aren't going to take away from your precious development time. Do you actually have any idea of how a game is developed? Did you ever stop to think small things like this actually add a lot to the game?
