The phract 3D with an XL340. One of the best mechs and builds in the game if you ask me. 86.5 KPH (only .1 KPH faster than the Jager and K2 (86.4)) 2 MLAS 2 AC/10 (5 tons) 2 JJ, and the rest armor and heatsinks. amazing brawling ability and super speedy especially in a phract. Anyone else love the hell out of thus build?

yup. been running that on my Ilya since it was introduced. I prefer it to the 3D for that role, even without the JJs, as I like having both ACs in the arms for their superior fire arcs. But adding a hop skip and a jump with the 3D ain't a bad way to roll.

Many a Medium Mech has crapped their pants when they realized a 70 ton Cataphract was running faster than they were.

I agree that the 3D is a great platform but i have trouble mixing arm weapon with torso while keeping arm lock off. Slows down aim having to hit shift or wait for the crosshairs to line up. So i run mine with twin ERPPCs and the AC10 w/ 4 tons ammo (runs very hot but that is what the AC10 is for). My Ilya on the other hand runs that exact setup but with 7 tons of ammo and no worries about aiming with both body and arms.

Edit: Nevermind, the Firebrand above me won the race by a tenth of a kilometer per second.

what engine? im guessing xl280?

Using XL is fine. But using in a mech with huge side torsos like the cataphract is just silly.

They do not look that big to me. Also they are smaller than the Jagermech's which I constantly see with XL engines. I rarely go down to a ST loss before losing my armor in my CT which means that there was not much fight left in me anyways. But then again I do not sit there and give people shots at my weak points.

I like how you changed the topic title after I came in here and linked that firebrand with 2 ac/10s that was faster but I guess not as useful.

thing of beauty, your Draco is a mirror image of my "Mjolnir" Ilya. And an absolute beast, much moreso than the triple UAC version.

that assumes you see me coming, and my superior speed doesn't allow me to use cover. Judging by my KDr in it, I have to say, I generally come out on top. I love people who drink the koolaid, and never learn to think for themselves and discover how liberating it can be.

well, you'd think, end of the day, you either lose a skosh of speed, or a few tons of ammo, and with the high mount weapons, it would be a good trade off. But I have never done as well in my Jager using the dual 10s as in my Ilya. IDK why, maybe I just subconsciously drive them different, but it just wasn't for me.

It should be; I used to run a 320xl in mine until you showed me that i could fit a 340xl. Then it was just a matter of "stealing" The engine from one of my Victors and giving the 320 to my Jester. Some day when I have the cbills, (I seriously have to stop buying mechs) I will put a 325xl in but for 1.4kph increase, its not worth the 5,308,333 cbills right now.

I'm licking my chops just thinking about it. I LOVE calling my lance to focus fire on open shoulders and theres nothing better than watching phracts and jaegers go poof cause the guy who built it got greedy

Maybe its because i run one quite successfully, But I'm far more terrified of a triple LB10 Ilya than a double AC10 3D.
It is absolutely brutal at close ranges. And if you ignore me at 500 meters, I'm going to peel your entire 'Mech apart while i get close. Turn to the side to protect your CT and ill rip your arm/leg off instead XD

People underestimate the strength of an LB10, even after the spread got tightened.

I do run a Dual UAC5+4ML 3D though, and i do love it.

What's even better is launching a volley of LRMs at a retreating one that has "all that speed" but a torn up shoulder and watching him go pop right after he crosses over that ridge he thought he was safe behind.
