About to be destroyed? Then practice soaking damage and try to pull your attacker to your team mates before you die.
Your team already down by 4 or 5 kills? Then practice your hit and run and snipe attacks. See how long you can survive (while fighting, that is)
It's just a game. Play it.

I've been in a match were we were down four or five mechs, rallied in a solid position and laid an ambush that proceeded to destroy the other team.
There is no mercy. There is only increasingly stringent reasons to try harder.
