Every Game Is A Stomp

1) Pubbies chasing spiders in assault mechs
2) Not listening to orders or tactical advice ie. herp derp
3) Winning team makes a good push thru weak enemy line and that results as "snowball effect"
This afternoon I saw very little team players and people crying about stomps in chat. L2P?

Seriously? First off, you are wrong. I was in some 10-12 games last night.
Second, once a team gets a numerical advantage, it's almost certainly going to steamroll from there. I mean if you are outnumbered 2-1 what do you expect? So the score may start out 1-2 but if it hits 7-3 you can pretty well bet it will end in something like 12-4.
As to what the dev team should be working on etc, you don't work in IT I take it? If you did, you would know that artists aren't going to be much help in "fixing" most problems. So they have people working in their areas.
Also, if you were even remotely up to date on the situation, you would know that for about a year now many things have been held up by UI 2.0 since it's going to be a major change in how the game presents stuff to us as well as many changes behind the scenes.
Why? Because most players think that because they can install a game they are experts on game development, and that having played "lots of games" they are experts on how to design and balance them. They then hit the forums, generate multiple accounts to spam with etc. Add in chickenshit devs who bow to every whim and you get a game no one will play even though it's exactly what they want.
I don't always like or agree with what these guys have done, but at least they don't give in to every whim and passing fancy that comes up on the forums.
so because it didnt happen to you last night it doesnt happen? great one. no wonder this game is epic in that way.
OP it has always been like this and it will only get worse when 12 mans get pug stomp abilities in a few months. There is nothing you can do.

right the match maker is perfect and never makes any mistakes ever. Nothing wrong with the game just L2P noobs.
you wonder why the logins are so low I see why.

Nick Makiaveli is right: Because once a team gets a numerical advantage, it will result in a snowball effect like growing of this advantage. Stop blaming premades, you will also see stomps even if we had no premades at all because of this logical relation.
OP and Blurry are wrong: They need to learn about logic and stochastics!

MM does mistakes, yes, but I still think it is more of a tactical matter. What to shoot first, where to move and how to break the enemy line. People who only drop solo too often fail to see some tactical advantages that are very common and well known in the 12s or even 4-mans.
Of course I would like to see a mastered mech matched against another mastered mech, or a metabuild against another. Some stomps are because of mech superiority, yes. This afternoon however I ran into only one metalance. So I would say all of my matches were fair games.

Sure, my stance is probably a bit abrasive, however I'm not here to perform community management functions on behalf of PGI, therefore don't see any point in sugar coating.
For what it's worth, they're still in my bad books over ongoing non-delivery of core features and as such my attitude is appropriately unhelpful. If they start delivering on UI2, DX11, VOIP, CW, Lobbies/Private Games, Group Tonnage Limits, More Maps, Island etc perhaps I will adjust how I approach topics on here by being a bit more flowery and considered (albeit not changing my position/s).
Back to the point in hand. Would anyone honestly actually prefer we lie to people and advise that they are the best players of all time, and that it's entirely PGI's or "cheating players" faults, or some other excuse that makes victory seem inherently unobtainable that is not to do with the player themselves that they cant win a game?, and to keep reassuring them that change is just around the corner (soon! ) that will bring victory after victory in its wake?
tldr: Game wont change, and to be blunt shouldn't change to compensate the incompetent (and especially wilfully incompetent) for their level of ability. Everyone has access to the same game mechanics and supporting tools. There is no excuse for an "I can't win because x" whine thread.

-enemy has at least a lance focus firing. My whole team walks into them 1 at a time. I am left at the end, begging people to not charge off alone, wait to push together. Then they come over the ridge and focus fire me.
-at beginning of game, everyone runs off in different directions, while I try to get people to group up. we all die alone.
-enemy team all walks out into the open sniping with medium lasers while we rain them with LRMs.
-obvious premade on one team, brand new player who doesn't know how to missile lock on the other.
-my entire team chases first red they see, a single light mech, all over the map, turning backs to the enemy assaults despite taking lots of hits.
-I call out, 4 enemies at X moving to flank. My team stands still, each dies one at a time being shot from behind. no one ever turns around. I die trying to defend them.
Sure, there are games that result in my team getting few kills because we all decided to try a tactic and it didn't work. That's not a stomp. That's still fun. A stomp is a huge difference in coordination/skill/experience.
So typical Boot tactics by your team. That is a bummer. Have you tried giving up on telling others what to do and just doing it yourself. I mean find a similar or complimentary team mate(s) and stick with them? I know when MM groups me with 3 lights it's time to turn a heavy lance into an assault star.

I've shown empirically that the heaviest influence to stomps is force strength attrition (losing at least 1/3rd of your team)...
I dunno... You think the fact that your skill level might have some influence in how quickly you top-teir play are able to turn a decisive 1/3rd force strength attrition into a rollstomp?
The reality is while everyone experiences stomps for the same reason, yours manifests quickly and decisively because you represent the pinnacle of player skill set.
I take umbrage when you guys roll in here and attempt to neatly lump all player levels into the same tidey box and proclaim it broken for everyone... Stomps are unavoidable true, but I think there is a greater percentage of the playerbase that experiences equitable match results than this thread is trying to imply...

Yep, and the MM loves to let you use them for target practice. Especially the sucky newbs, so you can make sure they never get good.
Well if they keep playing like I did they will eventually get good. But if they quit the never will get better.

You do know the proper way to school newbs is to put them in high-skill situations and beat them repeatedly so they leave, right?
C'mon, I did my time in enough PvP. Having a matchmaker pair you up against people vastly past your skill level is the perfect recipe for making them delete a game. And if you beat them till they quit, the player pool keeps shrinking.

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with common sense. It has to do with keeping the status quo.

Wins / Losses 3,324 / 3,244
My main problem is that on Friday I am usually drinking a lot and I wind up losing more than I win and have to rely on rest of team to carry me. I'll be that guy that just runs at something because my hand / eye coordination is eyeing my beer or bourbon or rum.
Edit: I am also distracted because I gave a group of friends that get together on Friday and shoot the chat while drinking and talking about the good old days of gaming together.
That's part of the fun . Nothing like having a couple beers and hitting the battlefield. It is especially great with friends with a little LAN party going on. Too bad I haven't done that in ages with MWO, saddly all my friends stopped playing (hence the 99% PUG ratio). I maybe only played 100 matches total with friends.
Still, the beer makes me feel like I am playing MUCH better than I am, and I see nothing wrong with that .

I don't know if thats what people are asking for. What I see is that if after 9 -15 months you cannot deliver on promises, you (PGI) need to think about how your resources are slanted. Which I think is fair enough.
If they knew they couldn't deliver 9 months ago, they should by now well and truly secured the resources to deliver and be able to give more firm commitments to the customer.
They are not (imo) and so people ask "WHEN"

It has always worked well for me, in life, martial arts, Gaming, you name it. Jump in feet first, take the beating that WILL ensue as I learn the ropes. I would not call paying a game High skill... then again I operate million dollar CNC Machines for a living and making a .02mm mistake can be... costly when its on a $30,000 prototype Engine head!
