Okay good, atleast I’m not the only one looking at the Wolfhound with my ew-face.
Why is it so hyped up? It’s really nothing special (FLAME RETARDANT SUIT, ACTIVATE!).

Or is it and I’m missing something? Maybe nostalgia is the reason that people are wanting it?

ohhhhhh welllllll.

Because it's the 'Mech heavily associated with IS MechWarriors (namely, Phelan Kell (in the Blood of Kerensky novels) and Ciro Ramirez (in the BattleTech animated series)) being captured by Clanners and becoming part of their warrior caste?

Umm, cuz it looks badass! (And also the whole hero mech vs clanners lore would fit too perfectly).

Hopefully PGI will drop some screenies or hints prior to release. They used to do this with hero launches, right? Then again, they didn't do anything leading up to the Grid Iron's release.

Or even artwork, though it rare that the finished mech looks anything like the 2d art these days, but at least we would be able to go wow that sucks or wow I want it now.

still no rage is better than lots

Why an Urbanmech, just why, its slow can't mount super amounts of weapons, it will be a liablity to the team, sad people that can't hit spiders will pick on them because its easier to hit for a cheap kill.

The answer is obvious.

Its Canon, and its cute..!

As much as I might want it to be the Urbie- I can't believe or have any faith that it is this time around.

Not cause of 35 tonner speculation, no. Because it's supposed to be Humanoid.

The Urbie is as Humanoid as a Jager.

I'm starting to think more and more that the Javelin has a real shot. It has a bunch of viable variants, and it fits all the reliable criteria (humanoid, faction-specific, not a Panther).

JVN-10N could have 6 missile hard points, JVN-11B could have 4 missile hard points and an ECM hard point, and JVN-11A could have 7 energy hard points (with only 1 module slot and fewer JJ slots).

Plus they could do the JVN-10P and JVN-10F if they wanted to add some finer variant distinctions, mix up the hard point layout a bit, tweak module and JJ slots, etc.

Best of all, the art rework would be amazing (some of the art already is, though not the original TRO, and a rework would just make it that much better).

whats funny is I could give a flying poo about UI 2.0 other than hopefully it helps them with their backend stuff. I like mechlab for the most part as is.

Best of all, the art rework would be amazing (some of the art already is, though not the original TRO, and a rework would just make it that much better).

The JVN-11A doesn't come along until 3053, and the JVN-11B doesn't come along until the following year (3054).

MWO is currently at 3050; if it's the Javelin, it would have to be the JVN-10N (x2 SRM-6, LT & RT), JVN-10F (x4 MedLas, 2 in each side-torso), and JVN-10P (x1 SRM-6 in the RT & x2 SSRM-2 in the LT) as the available variants.

A bit of hardpoint inflation could see the JVN-10N have 2 missile hardpoints in each side-torso, while the JVN-10F and JVN-10P maintain their minimum hardpoint counts.
In exchange, the JVN-10P (which is the 3049 LosTech model) could get either (but not both) an ECM hardpoint or dual AMS hardpoints.

They could then be further differentiated by module slot count, maximum JJ limits, torso twist & pitch limits, and so on.

It's mostly because everyone is super critical of their time line right now and if it doesn't work or gets pushed back, the N.O.P.E. guys will make over 9000 threads about it.

Well, they did a sneak-peek of the Jester before it was released, and just got a thread of people saying 'OMG, DOA. DO NOT BUY' before the mech was even available. I seem to recall exactly the same thing happened with the Boar's Head.

I can't blame them for getting a bit fed up of people declaring something useless a week before it's even available. Better to just release it and let people make up their own minds.

The Wolfhound is a POS compared to many mechs in the game, it was a good mech at it's introduction because it was designed to take on Panthers which are too slow for their size. The Wolfhound wouldn't have any capability in the game, and the admittedly cool look would be forgotten due to it's mediocracy compared to other mechs at it's size. The only way to make it competitive would be to remove the ability to change armor on mechs in the lab, which would give it some traction vrs the Jenner. Since this won't happen, it would be a 2nd rate mech at best.

Or an extra module slot. While I was grinding out Basics on Jenners so I could Elite out my Sarah's I found that I could easily boat consumables of the JR7-K because it has a base of 3 module slots.
