My greatest hope is that the mech they introduce IS controversial as mentioned, and that it is a surprise. not a "meh, not controversial* release.

I'm still in very very hot water from that time I did all the map preview videos. However I can say that many many people in this thread are going to be quite happy on Tuesday.
Maybe one day, Urbs... one day

While i can theorize how you can be so sure, i saw it done in similar games in the past so i'm gonna belive you kind sir.
So Firestarter or Wolfhound and there seems more pople leaning towards those instead the Javelin

P.S: i said it the Urbie it's gonna be so OP even PGI refuses to release it !!

So Javelin it is, then, yes?
The recent Oxide release and the subsequent PGI comments that it is a bit weak considering its payload type and hints that it was a test case for a future light tend to suggest a missile-heavy light might be coming soon, and the Javelin is a best-fit.
It will most likely not be the Javelin - There are only 3 variants available in the timeline.
1. Has 2 Missile hardpoints and nothing else.
2. Has 4 Energy hardpoints.
3. Has 7 Energy hardpoints.
4. It's 30 tons.
Just because i would disagree with the introduction of the Firestarter variants as they are outlined from Sarna doesnt mean PGI feels the same way.

Unless the Firestarter is the size of a Hunchback it's going to have the same relatively microscopic Center and Side Torso profile advantage the Spider and Commando share over the Jenner and Raven. The only angle to work it from is its engine size and movement... As im sure many are aware too much tweaking in this area ruins Lights, and PGI has a history of extreme tweaks.
Either it will be a 35 ton version of death incarnate or another smear on the wall like the Oxide. Happy medium has no place here!

This would not be the first mech they added extra hard points for. Plus, it'd be a JJ-equipped missile light, which aside from the Jenner there is nothing that qualifies right now.
Plus, the 35 ton suggestion came out of nowhere as far as I can tell, and has no basis in any statement by PGI.
Finally, they could very easily fudge the timeline by a year or two, which would open up several extra variants that all use currently available tech.

Quite True in fact i swear i read somewhere it belong to a faction or was mostly attached to a single faction but since i cannot find that particular text anywhere i'm starting to doubt even myself

That Javelin would be AMAZING. Just saying.
Heck of all those would be awesome.
Javelin, Mongoose, Firestarter, Wolfhound, in that order for preference as far as I'm concerned, but each one has potential for greatness.

Most likely candidates are the Javelin, Firestarter and Thorn to be honest.
Secondary candidates are the Wolfhound/Panther, Mongoose, Hermes and Urbanmech.

I seriously doubt a 95 kph 20 tonner without JJs is realistically in the running. So discard the Thorn. It would do even worse than Locusts do.

I agree. But I could really see them implementing it due to the "controversial" part of the leaks they've made.

And Russ already flat out said it ain't the Panther (which likewise has serious speed/survivability issues)
Despite the homogenous nature (and boring nature) of the WolfHound, I could see it because it is a fa favorite, and Grinner is an obvious Hero, though a more interesting and less obvious would be Daniel Allard's wolfhound, which is also the original production Model.
Honestly am of 2 opinions on the Javelin, but it's flaws are assuming they never fix SRM hit registration.
The Firestarter is hands down the most combat viable of all the available Light Humanoids. I would like to see the Urbie or Hussar, but realistically, from a competitive viewpoint, the FS9 makes the most sense.

My guesses for likelihood are Firestarter, Javelin, Mongoose, Wolfhound (Panther was confirmed by Russ not to be a candidate), Hermes, Urbanmech, Thorn in that order (of the ones you list above and that are most commonly bandied about).

If it is Grinner I will be buying it, and I don't even like lights. Fanboism whale at its finest.
