eh. pretty sure we're gonna see 1 ER large in the CT, 4 smalls and 2 MG, or something similar. Flamers are a flaming waste of time, ATM

But nothing feels more outrageous that killing someone with a flamer just for the shake of it!!!

That's why i still keep my Spider -5V with Tag and Flamer for the Lulz!!

Grinner was and is the only Wolfhound IIC in existence, it also happens to be a Clan mech, like the Jenner IIC (Which the Oxide is not). An actual Jenner IIC would have JJs and ECM, so if they do present the Grinner as a Wolfhound Hero, it will be some diluted iteration of it... Making it not the Grinner. We all know the real Grinner would be OP.

My BLRs would like to disagree. I finished the least effective one last night, the 1D and that was after doing an average of ~800 damage per round. Stripped it because I favor my 1G and 1S which are far more deadly.

You will never get a Hero mech with ECM. Never. So, aside from that, I'd like to see the Grinner because I love the Wolfhound.

Well, depepnds, are we talking "GRinner" or the "Grinner IIC".

Remember, Phelan was driving an IS WOlfhound on the Rock when he was captured. Technically it appears to have been stock by the fluff, but that has hardly constrained PGI in the past.

That said, I think if they do the WolfHound, Dan Allard's mech should be the Hero, then after the Clan's are launched, a "Grinner" Hero can be made or something.

THIS is sleek?

Also, I absolutely do great in my BLRs. I actually have more drops in them now than my VTRs (which I do slightly better with). BLR tanks damage like a boss even with an XL, at least, is you don't equip the torso launchers. Heck, my 1G is a hot little ******, but the mix of top mounted PPCs backed by 4 mediums right beneath and 2 ac5 in the arm absolutely wreck faces.

It could be a spider grown at 35tons. All requirements satisfied, including lame controversial.

While i can agree any ECM Hero mech will raise the P2W angst, i see it quite probably on any chassis where most of the variants already carry one just as a quick example like the Spector mech suggested before where all his variants already are ECM capable.

P.S: Tbh i would be happier if PGI finally release an ECM Heavy for the IS even if it's some variant for already existent chassis like the Orion.

It exist, and it's called Venom.

It's viable variant-wise and, if I remember correctly - timeline-wise.

Then probably that is exactly what we will get tomorrow. I doubt they would create a whole new chassis in order to add an hero.

A better armoured spider is exactly what everybody needed -_-

I don't think so - I'm thinking they're just doing the same thing as with Highlander - chassis was schelude to relaease already, but the're going with hero first, then (next week) with standard variants for MC, and on 18th we get C-bill standard variants.

That way the'll maximise sales.

My bet is either Wolfhound or Firestarter.

or

They'll pull another Quickdraw on us

Nope, Venom is a 3055 'Mech.

Then sorry, I didn't check the MUL, and sarna stated 3050.

I would laugh so hard if that happens (according to Sarna at least one Venom variant is available 3050 -> Spider hero in spe).

Jests aside: I'd really like to see the IS version of Grinner (though its IIC version being released would surely be more "controversial" -_- )

The Venom is a separate and distinct 'Mech from the Spider, and the chassis doesn't get its additional variants until much later.
  • SDR-9K: 3050
  • SDR-9KA: 3056
  • SDR-9KB: 3057
  • SDR-9KC: 3066
A Hero Spider would not be a Venom (though, it might echo the loadout), and the Venom does not currently meet MWO's "three timeline appropriate variants" requirement.

More to the point, the Venom as a chassis simply does not meet the known requirements for inclusion in MWO at this time.

Only a few hours to go.

Here's the last chance to place your bet on what it will be!

Personally I am going with the Javelin.

Note that the Venom is named SDR-9K not VNM-something, it is also stated on sarna that it is a Spider with few modifications.

I'm on EST and they usually post things between 9am-1pm. So it'll be 2-5 hours before they post the sneak preview.
