[Kaji Ryu]

Konban-wa everyone!


I started in 1997 in MPBT: Solaris (AOL) and then moved to the Gamestorm server and played until 1999, though I kept my accounts until EA bought it out and shut it all down. Like TC Dragonmaw, I will NEVER buy an EA game because of the way they killed Battletech and so many other great games.

When I retired in 1999, I was Sho-Sho Kaji Ryu, Benjamin Military District, DXO under my best friend Warlord Cobrath Henobe.

I miss my Catapult and I miss all my friends in HK! I came from the days with Rude Rich as House Leader, Kanrei Skies as HXO, then Roller as HXO and then Tarl Cabot as HXO. I dabled a bit with 3025 and ISW, but it just did not have the feel for me that MPBT did. I have kept in touch with TC Dragonmaw ever since the gamestorm days and we have played other games together with me in Dragonmaw with him.

I am hoping that the resurrection works this time and I'll be done with college by the time it rolls out and will have the time to play!

I played with the Kuritans for a little while, I was Rooster <HK> with the 8th Rasalhauge Regulars if I remember right. AceJohn was my lance leader.

Then I went back to being a Lyran, I don't remember why I switched houses in the first place.

I haven't heard from Cobrath since he called me on my birthday a few years ago. I know he quit EQ when his guild did and went to World of Warcraft with them, but as far as I know he wasn't gaming when we last spoke. The phone number I had for him doesn't work anymore, so I may have to give his parents a call to pass a message along to him.

I'll also try to get in touch with Grey. Last I spoke with him, he was all grown up, graduated college, married and teaching. Hard to believe I've known him since he was 14 years old. Steeldragon and I keep in touch also, so I will inform him as well. I might even have some old email addresses for other friends from MPBT that I will have to dig up and see if they still work =)

/tackle hugs Tarl ... sorry can't resist! Long time no see my friend =) I hope you have been well and life has been prosperous for you. If having two precious grandchildren makes me old, that's okay with me! I'll still kick but in a mech tho don't you worry!

also when HK had their contract, but before 'open tactics' were approved by Leadership for non-merc house units, I moonlighted as:

Okay so.. I am at work.. and I am explaining to one of the guys that brings up MPBT whom is looking for a new team.. hey I used to play MPBT.. and I explain that I used to play intensively and of course some of them are a lot younger then me and .. they har har.. and say "oh so you were a nerd!?".. and I laugh and of course one google search away with my old handle.. low and behold .. here you all are with a picture of me posted on the wall. Of course my co-workers get a kick out of it because now.. "43 years old" .. and they see my picture and they are like WHOA.. no kidding.

Nice to see you all, brings a tear to my eye.. really it did!

Hard to belief its been that long doesn't it? Remember when we had the keychains made at Geauga Lake with our game names and your tattoo design? I still have mine. Oh yeah, and my "Kaji" vanity plates on my car. =)
