Or let us choose what [redacted] maps we want.

Please.

The map is not fun. There's not a lot of fun or interesting or tactical places to fight like River City or HPG or even Crimson Strait. Everyone just runs into the center and then people get clogged on the hills. It's just ******** fighting.

And it's hot, too! Feels hotter than Caustic Valley! Building a mech designed fir high heat seems stupid 'cause there's only 2 maps (maybe 3 if you count Tourmaline Desert) that would make use of your low-heat design.

Map sucks. Lots of mountains, lots of heat, non-pug friendly. Get it out of here, or let me choose what maps I want or blacklist one or two like WoW's BG system: No one likes AV so everyone blacklists it so no one has to sit through it. The people who do like it and want to participate in the objectives are paired with other like minds. Everyone wins.

In short, Terra Therma is [redacted]

edit: I don't know what got censored in that first paragraph. Also, how did [redacted] not get censored? ALSO, why is there censoring on the forums but not in-game? /boggle

At the very least a "I do not like these maps so I'm checking them off so they'll be less likely for me to play on" sort of option would be nice.

The map has a few choke points and wide open spaces that are a challenge for teams in name only. I think the map itself is great and the visuals are really good (for MWO).

What does that mean? Like, premade groups only? 'cause pugs don't know how to do anything on Terra Therma from my experience.

My point exaxtly; if you choke the choke points, do not allow the heavy hitters to retreat by standing directly behind them, or wander of alone and get killed by an enemy lance or an overly enthousiastic Spider, then the map is very hard. I think Terra Therma teaches you this better than other maps.

And yes, that can be frustrating. My Win/Loss on this map (as a PUG) is 1.0, so it is not really my favourite map in that regard...

The people that need to read this are the people that don't even know about the forums. Let me choose what maps I want to play on so I can avoid this issue for good.

When I first started I hated it because people would constantly charge the caldroun without question even on conquest
Now people seemed to have figured out whats going on and that only happens like 20% of the time now. Its like how I now hate Alpine on assault because of that death hill on one team's side of the map that they just stand on and it can be very difficult to dislodge them. You need to like, pincer it with one lance from behind and another two lances keeping their attention and even then you'll probably lose, just 12-10 instead of 12-2.

I was shocked how much more fun Terra Therma is in Skirmish.

When you're not having to worry about a base cap because one light went on the wrong side of a hill and you missed them in the giant "hedge maze" style design, you can actually explore the other 80% of the map.

- This very much. Terra therma is an unforgiving map in general, but people have started to understand that the cauldron is a deathtrap.

PUG friendly? No, and even the long term, veterans don't like it, but it also demands people to think their mech loadouts in a way where they need that extra HS for terra therma. However, even through all the gritting of teeth I've heard, no other map like that one, shows how good you are with heat management in front of other pilots.
***

Frankly, alpine peaks on assault is on a whole different level, and that is the biggest PUG uphill battle there is, literally.
- So much that its not even funny, especially if you start on the "wrong side of the the mountain", and the enemy team packs a ton of ER PPCs and AC2/Gauss weaponry. Even if one lance manages to move in and make a Pincer attack on the mountain people, it will take a long time to get any proper support from the other two lances.

I'm not for getting rid of any content. How about you ask them to improve the map.

I like to communicate with my team before the match starts on this map, and typically its as simple as; "Either none center or all center, you call it".

That typically regroups the team to making a choice instantly, makes a difference ~80% of the time. Simple things can improve your experience in this game. Remember everyone online is human, or close to it! :)

It isn't the hottest map, it isn't the map with the most "stuff" to go around (buildings, cliffs, whatever), it IS the map that people like to complain about. Did OP even vote in one of the other "this map sucks" threads that thought to include a poll?

That, and if we're going to vote on maps,be prepared to find that this one isn't the least popular.

Not my fave map but I also hate RCN (which OP considers "more tactical" hahahaha), but givne the nature of the game and the preponderance of tailored as it stands, I thini allowing players more control over this fafet of the game would be bad for the health of the game. So I vote no as well.

No.

Learn to adapt, or continue to fail.

It really is that easy, and these forums, while often filled with vitriol (usually from players that refuse to deviate from "this is what I want to do and how I want to do it, if I can`t the game /map /mech sucks"), are chock full of information on how. Usually in the same threads where people are whining about their own incapacity to understand how to do it. :)
