on river, I could not "r" a mech I was next to with my curser on it.
Lock stayed on enemy turret that was much farther away.

I had this on frozen city - so it might be related not to turrets completely. My wild guess is that it happens when you change targets too quickly they start to glitch. Same happens with all actions - when they stick and you need to alt-tab.

Hmmmm I'll investigate this, there may have been a UAV(s) in the air. The fix should also deal with this however.

Another issue i've noticed, Sometimes i can't target a mech at all (as said in previous posts) other times i CAN target, but no paper doll info,no name no chassis info, and no box around the target, no indication that i have them targeted other than i can lock streaks and still hit them. this happened under the overpass near tunnel on crimson strait. was able to fire streaks and kill the target mech.

Also seen this a few times always on the new assault crimson/river city map. Had a misery directly infront of me less than 100m and wasnt able to target properly, crimson straight. The first time i noticed was during a river city match, after attempting to target a turret for the first time. afterwards is when i noticed i couldnt target several enemy mechs, mechs clearly in line of sight and within close proximity of myself. Unsure of the sound notification "Target acquired". both times i had music playing so if it did confirm i didnt notice =D.

During Crimson Straight, position was near the middle exit of the main tunnel, just outside. Wouldn't say i was near a turret but my team was close enough that the turrets were available as targets to me.
During River city i was behind the large overlook building "citadel" or w/e you wanna call it, epsilon side looking out towards d2(gamma?sigma?) across the water. again i think turrets were available as targets.

Confirming this issue.

Just copied this from other thread, I did not see this one.

All of the people I played with since the patch are experiencing this.

Seems most noticeable with M and N. But others change too.

We speculated that this would relate to there being 6 extra targets, being the turrets. Though they show no designation in game, therefore I am thinking that it may be related. So it would seem that M,N,O,P,Q,R just may be randomly floating.

Come to think of it, there seemed to be a loss and regaining of target correlation.....Have M in view and targeted, lose sight of M, and lose lock, resight same mech, lock, designation N. Just a thought.

I had this happen on a non-turret map (Skirmish Crimson Straits). Targeting went all the way to Z, and after that, the mech became untargetable by the entire team.

I am having the same problem. On Assault and it seems to happen mainly on River City (Day). I see the empty triangle of an enemy mech and I cannot target it when pressing R. I have to turn my mech to pull a different target into view where I can then target said mech (it seems if the mech has already been targeted it works). Then I can turn my mech back towards the previous target and suddenly I am able to target it.

In this instance the enemy mech in question was not near its turrets. I, however, was among my own turrets.

Me too, and no diffrence if you are near own or enemys base.
And very often if there's an ECM-mech around and someone's BAP nullifies it, you can't target anything else except that ECM-mech although there is other targets within' reach of your weapons. They just don't lock and are shown only with hollow triangle, ECM-mech can be locked as usual.

Thomas you could have mentioned that you patched Morgan Kells Phantom Mech ability to the game.... :ph34r:

On River city a ShadowHawk Near the enemy base was not targetable, but a lancemate lrmed him to death.

BTW, please make minimap symbols for turrets smaller can't see a thing on it near our base.

I've experienced this as well. Goofy thing is, I could almost see the effect as a beneficial side effect, if it didn't continue to happen even when you got to short range. I had one match where the last enemy standing ran in between two turrets and killed our sensor locks on him. I thought it was a cool effect, until I got within 300m of him and still couldn't get a lock. ;-/

Also, could you make the turrets a little bit easier to destroy?

Same problem, happens most when near turrets friendly or enemy.

I can see the red triangle but get not targeting box or paper doll

Same here. River City is the culprit. When an enemy is located amongst turrets, I am not able to target their mech properly, that is, the AI considers it targeted but the HUD is not displaying the paper doll, the mech chassis or target designation. After the first attempt to target an enemy, targeting would malfunction entirely.

Its not just when there are turrets!

Played River City Night on Conquest (No turrets as far as I know) and could not target the enemy, it was in a 12 pilot group drop we thought it was because of ECM to begin with and kept putting up UAV's.

In the end we had 3 or 4 UAV's over the enemy but still could not target them.

Hmmm... Kinda surprised that PGI devs has not seen the bug happening for them since it has a high chance of happening.

Here is showing the problem clearly at the 8min 32s mark.
You can here me pressing R repeatedly but it refuses to target the lone enemy Highlander for no obvious reason and this one wasn't even near turrets.
Soloing a Highlander in a light without targeting is a bit unnerving. (Btw.. There is nothing wrong with the Ember.. Don't touch it ! :P)


At the 9min 32s marks. Targeting of the Shadow hawk just doesn't happen.

i have this bug occuring also, you target somebody and nothing happenes visualy. Game is registering that you did target him becouse streaks can still lock on target but thats actualy only way to know if u are targeting him. Happened to me few times straight after last patch. And it was also happening on maps not related to turrets becouse that night i saw that map once.

I too have had this issue on River city, couldn't target a mech that was harrassing me (a spider), when his jenner friend came I could target him, wth? No the Spider did not have ECM it was a 5V.
