Well i heard they are going to try to make this for the xbox one so maybe they are testing it on pc users before going to xbox one and have given up on pc people. Or they just dont care.

The moment this is on xbox or any console, i will be demanding a refund of the hundreds of dollars i have spent on this game. Sadly, they seem to be headed downwards in that direction with the forced 3pv by default until you turn the crap off and then this abysmal UI downgrade.

i have e.g. 10 commandos, all painted - why do they all show same colour ? how should i find one ? also original sort order is messed up, cant sort after buy date ? I dont find a single mech in the new UI, also the statistics shown are worthless... confusing.

old UI was more useful, please overthink the Information overload and blink stuff... logged out before joining a match, too confusing. waiting for usability fix before testing a new map.

Why not small changes.. This is a cluster f%$&. I don't want to (nor need) to re-learn everything about this game. What a PITA. Really hurts when you want to jump in with your team and play / reconfigure between matches. Too many more clicks... UHGGG Really... please put your efforts into new content like mechs, maps, modules, achievements, adhering to the mech universe instead of trying to appease the people that like 3rd person and boating fairness. PGI... please put OUR money where your mouth is.

TL;DR - too many levels of menus, too many layers, too much visual noise.

I've been playing MWO for nearly a year and a half and I really really hate the new UI. I admit that I haven't even tried combat yet because the Mechlab is so so frustrating. Every detail of information is so buried in sub-levels of menus that it seems like it's become difficult (or at least non-obvious) how to just get a quick survey of the hardpoints on a mech that I'm configuring. It's very pretty, and all, but every single thing seems to take more steps. I want to take a quick look at my pilot skills to see a couple of mech trees but each thing involves two more layers of menus and screens. I had to work at it to even figure out how to just save my loadout changes.

I admit that I've only spent about ten minutes with it but everything seems to be more difficult and to require more steps. The screen is too busy - there's so much crap. I don't need an icon matrix of available engines. Just give me a list with the core details visible and I'm so much happier.

The Pilot Lab is the same. More levels, more steps, more back and forth just to do a quick survey of where I'm at with all the variants I own of a particular chassis.

This new UI is a huge pain in the ass. The old one had it's issues, but I can't even play the game because I hate this UI.

I can't see my load out from the mech select screen. I have a lot of mechs I need to see what the have quickly to know which one has the load out I want.

Seriously i can't stand the weapon or configure bay it's like I'm getting punched in the face with those huge shitty graphics that are all the same dominating the screen.

I tried using this UI, but I really hate shit that people through complete incompetence make it considerably worse than what we had.

You dropped the ball now fix it, I want to play, but I can't stand the current UI. There are too many things that are unconscionably screwed that you need to roll back to the old UI and remove the UI team leader, because he's a fool.

Tip: K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid is the principle that should have applied.

Don't know if I should be concerned yet, but I just wanted to say my premium time balance still shows zero. I looked and it shows the activate should have been fixed so just a heads up in case there's more still experiencing this issue

Mine also still shows zero but I'm waiting a little more before emailing support about it. They are aware of this so no need to flood their mailbox.

The old launcher had its faults (not the least of which being that I play on a tiny screen and the bottom bar was always cut off) but the new mechlab is far from intuitive.

First off, changing body parts in the mechlab is odd. The tabs function well enough, but clicking the part on the model made more sense.

Next: Ditch the wireframe art of all the pieces. It's cool and all, but it takes up much more room than it should; room that could be used for a full paperdoll of the mech's loadout (ala Smurfy) or at least for a better view of the model. I don't want to see a huge box full of copies of the engine clipart. I want to know how much SRM ammo I have in my legs and whether I can cram another heatsink into my right torso, preferrably at the same time.

The old mechlab's armor tab let you see the armor values across the whole mech on a single page, and change them all in one go. The new system makes it hard to get an idea of exactly how much armor you have equipped, and where it is.

Viewing a mech's loadout from the selection screen is less than ideal. I appreciate the new stats. They should probably be displaced for other things. Being able to mouse over the weapons and hardpoints with them being highlighted on the model was nice. Also: heatsinks. They're not glamourous, but I like to know they're still around, and how many friends they have.

Check out? Really? Why not Save Loadout?

The camo spec screen's nice. Not sure why it defaults to patterns instead of colors, but ok.

The home tab is mostly empty. Making the social button a bit more noticeable would be great. It's awful shy down there for opening the social tab. You can't do other things with the social menu up. Can we have a lobby chat?

Being able to rotate the mech model on the home page would be great, or at least have it snap back to looking out at the player when they leave the mechlab. Right now my Centurion is stuck staring at the wall, and going back to the mechlab to spin it around doesn't seem worth it.

Navigation's an issue. Replacing the back button with a couple of dropdown menus, a second ribbon under the tabs at the top of the page, or a breadcrumb trail would speed things up a bit.

The UI text doesn't contrast well with its background.

Here's what I like. The UI looks great. I like having icons for the hardpoints in the mechlab, and a number of how many are filled. Editing weapon groups in the mechlab should have been around ages ago. Camo spec screen. Some of the mechs have new renders for the select screen. The cent needed one, for sure.

The short version: Please put more useful information on a single screen, put the clutter in the back, make fewer menus do more things, and fix the navigation.

*edit* - Bring back one click logouts!

Seriously, there is just no way to quickly survey the important details of a mech, both when browsing my list of mechs and when working on a loadout. With no paper doll I have no way to see what my hardpoints are and what's on them without constantly clicking through layer after layer of menus. As someone who does not have an encyclopedic knowledge of all mech chassis models, nor a photographic memory of the current loadouts of the 30+ mechs in my bays, the fact that you cannot see any useful loadout information without pulling up the mech and clicking through all the damned body parts is just plain moronic. What could possibly make it seem like a good idea to not make this information readily available? I was really looking forward to playing tonight but I can't actually get to battle because it is effectively impossible to configure a mech without having to take notes with a pen and paper to keep track of what you are doing.

I can;t see myself even touching this game again until some serious improvements are made or the UI is rolled back to what it used to be. It is unplayable now.

CONSUMABLE MODULES:
When finish a battle, I am back to the “home screen”. It displays the mech that I last played. There is no quick way to just buy, for example, consumable modules and go back to the battle again with this mech. Currently, I have to click on “SELECT MECH” (or MECHLAB tab). Then I have to find the mech (even though it is the mech that I last played and is shown on the home page) and then click on the CONFIGURE button. Then I click MODULES button to go to the MODULE purchasing screen. I have to navigate through about 3 screens down to get to consumable modules. Can you make an option to buy the modules by just one screen down? However, most of the time I use the same consumable modules, so could you make it auto-refill as you do for ammo and mech repairs?

Could you separate the non-consumable modules from the consumable ones? A couple of times, I mistakenly bought the ARTILLERY ACCURACY/AIR STRIKE ACCURACY for IMP ARTILLERY STRIKE/IMPROVED AIR STRIKE because they are on the same screen and have the same icon except for the cross-hair. Or better yet, should consumable modules be purchased like the same we purchase ammo (except that modules take no weight of course)?

MODULES AND BUYING A MODULE
Could you just high light what I select and on the checkout, on the “BUY CONFIGURATION” pop-up, display a list of what I have selected to buy with a check box beside each item checked. I review the list and am able to delete an item by un-checking it before I click final “OK”? This will eliminate the unnecessary pop-up verifying “BUY ITEM - You currently do not own this item and will need to buy it in order to equip it. Do you want to Continue?” for each item when I click “EQUIP”?

INVENTORY OF MODULES IN ALL MECHS
I usually have hard time to locate my non-consumable modules on my mechs. I'd like take them off and put them on the mech that I want to play. Please give a search that provide that capability during the MECHLAB Mech configuration screens!

CHECK OUT
The "CHECK OUT" button is too small, that I mistakenly click on the yellow "PURCHASE MC" button!!!
The check out screen should display a summary of what I have changed and purchased for the mech. This screen should include a list of items, the quantity, the price, the total, and a check box with a check mark. I should be able to cancel an item by un-checking the check box then click the OK button or cancel all the changes and purchases by the CANCEL button.

MECHLAB:
The home screen that displays the current selected battle mech should have an option to configure it by just ONE click and it should display graphically all the current loaded Hardware, Supplies (Weapons, Equipments, Modules and Ammo) and their locations around that mech. That is, the picture of the mech must be in the CENTER of the screen, and it should display the slots and their contents around the mech, so you can see quickly where they are and be able to buy them or change them quickly.

To buy or change a hardware or supplies for the mech, you should be able to click the slot(s) where you want it to be then it should pop up a screen(s) all purchasable Hardware/supplies for that slot(s) and you can pick what you want. It should display red if it is over weight or not enough slots or not enough CBILLs and green if it is purchasable and fit all other requirements. It should display a message tell me why I can not purchase that item.

The current list of items takes all the space available on the screen because of the large icons displaying the picture which are not necessary. These icons also do not contain information about the item such as the weight and the quantity per ton which are essential to your decision making on the configuration. Currently It only shows it when you put the cursor on the item, and even that cursor-over popup still does not display the function of the item. The tonnage and the count per ton and the damage should be constantly displayed in the icon. Other information can be on the cursor-over popup, OR better yet, it should constantly display all relevant information when I click on the item on another mini popup window.

I usually work on one mech until I get bored with it. So when I go in the Mechlab, I should see the current (or last played) mech in full screen with all the slots display the mech's hardware and supplies and an inventory summary of the mech constantly displayed and ready for me to configure it without the need to click another button. If I want to select a new mech, I then click on "SELECT MECH" and a list of all the mechs I own (usually I work on the ones that I own) or you could put a drop-down list beside the "SELECT MECH" button where I can pick either "all, own, trial, Hero, Champions, Assaults, Heavies, Medium, light". This "SELECT MECH" and filters should also be available in my current mech configuration screen so that If I want to change to a different mech while configuring my current mech. I should be able to keep the changes or cancel the hardware and supplies I have selected for the current mech when I click "SELECT MECH" within the configuration screen.

A MECH'S INVENTORY SUMMARY
I should be able to constantly see the summary of hardware and supplies during the mechlab and its configuration screens. Currently I get a summary only when I put the cursor on the mech's icon and it disappear when I move the cursor away. I need to see it constantly to plan out my hardware and supplies.

I should be able to see the current load of the mech. It should include all the hardware, modules and supplies. It should list all weapons, modules (consumable and non-consumable), engine, heat sinks, jump jets, all items that the mech carries, and especially AMMO. Sometimes I forgot to purchase ammo and my weapons are useless.

GAME MODE Selection
When I click “PLAY NOW” it gives me a pop-up to select my game mode even if I don't want to change my game mode. Beside the “PLAY NOW” button, Could you put the game mode option drop-down list with my default game mode option? It would eliminate a unnecessary pop-up and you would be able to selection the game mode on the same screen as of “PLAY NOW” button?

New UI is... terrible. It's complicated, hard to navigate, the component list takes up waaaaay too much room, there's no paper doll to easily select which section of the mech you're altering (the list of dropdowns on the left side of the screen just isn't a good replacement)... and more.

Fairly new player, only 2 weeks or so but issues with ui 2.0:

1) Mechlab, if i hadnt setup my only mech in the old ui id be lost. Which brings me to the next point....

2) Store, how do i know what a mech has before i buy it, no mouse over or drop down or anything just a huge grid of pictures with no information. I guess i have to exit the new UI and check a web site to know what to buy next.

3) Home screen - no information at all, put something on there. What is the point of a screen that does nothing but show a big picture of your mech, might as well remove it.

If you actually click on the activate button, you will get a confirmation pop up that will show your banked Premium Time and ask you to confirm activation.

If you then confirm activation, the time will show in the count down box.

I believe this is working as intended.

Feedback: The UI makes me not want to play the game.

It is simply too much jumble and nonsense on the screen to quickly and easily get anywhere or get relevant information. Too many pointless icons for engine parts, weapons, etc. Seriously, just do a list format lifted straight from Smurfy's or any number of other Battletech Mech builders. Building a mech should be easy first, pretty second.

I don't think I need to reiterate what the other 33 pages of posts have already said, but bottom line is that the UI is frustrating to navigate. You somehow took a poor UI experience and made it a nightmare. More than 3 clicks to do the most complex action should be a rare occurance in a good UI. It is rare to find any action that takes less than 3 clicks in this one.

Frustrated beyond enjoying the game at the moment.

I like the general look and feel of the new UI a few things stick out though.

1. I miss some of the info that was a part of the old mech breakdown when you choose a mech. You have to go into load out to see what engine you have. The mechs information given when you hover over it tells you its weapons, armor type, frame, speed, even the max engine size for the mech, but not what engine your currently running.

2. I also miss how you could hover over a weapon, component, or even the basic weapons arrangement that said 3 energy slots, 2 ballistic slots and it would show you the general location of the slots on the mech.

3. When I am selecting the mech I want to play, if I choose the owned option trial mechs still show up with my mechs.

There is plenty like in the new UI, the mech selection screen shows more mechs at once, the rename and weapons layout option are great. While it can be frustrating navigating it I had the same problem when I was learning the original UI. Keep up the good work.

Wow... just... wow.

The UI flow is terrible, no information is easy to find, no piece of equipment or module is easy to find unless you know exactly where it is.

Revert to old UI and go back to the drawing board, hire a UI specialist, do it right.

How about something like this:

http://www.directupl...7hsvdxh_png.htm

Two bars up (Drag and Drop sell/buy)
Trade-Center
Mech-Hanger

under it:
Left Internal view
right external view

on loadout button new Screen:

Up 3/4 Weapon bars (drag and drop - maybe also sell/buy)

left: Utilities and moduls

And so on ...
