Warning: English is not my main language.
If I read the "Known Issues List" of this "great" UI 2.0 patch. I am wondering how arrogant this coding team must be, to give us this peace of shit. Sorry for my clear words. If NOOBS are programming a game, this is the result. After almost 2(two) years of "development" they are not able to let play us 12 mechs against 12 mechs in a clear and proper way. NO, its getting worser and worser with every patch. In other games you can run and fight with 127 others, in beautiful shaded worlds with a lot of content, with " almost perfect coded" action, but not in PGI's world. Other companies can create with the same engine beautiful worlds and fast running games, but again: not PGI.
The game which runned proper and fast before THIS patch, is now running worse. After 1.5 years of playing this game, I have enough from Film Grains, DOF and other effects, which are not working at all. Nerfing with almost every patch the weapons, 6 Maps...wow and the most of them with almost no colors except grey, darkgrey and bright grey.
And for the "Grande Finale" know this....I can not describe this CHAOS on my screen...how is it called UI 2.0??? What the hell are you doing there? This is the User-UNfriendliest UI i have ever seen. I am playing on 1920 x1200 resolution. I can see 80 Enginges in my mechlab at once next to my mech.FOR WHAT??? You are wasting in a dangerous way my Monitorspace and trying to ruining my eyes. I am not Sherlock Holmes and want to search my modules and engines every time I have to change something on my mechs.
Dear PGI
First I was thinking, that you shit on this, what we are writing, thinking or mentioning. But now I know it better. You can NOT do it better. You are tinkering here a little bit, tinkering there a little bit, but not solving the core problems at all. Since two years the problems are the same and they will be in 2 years the same. Read your own forum please. I have no doubt, that Community Warfare is not coming at all, if you are coding in the future like you are doing it today.
Oh and if you want to clear my account, cause of this not polite words. Go on
Kind Regards
Herrmann

It's as if the UI was designed to hide as much useful information as possible and to put as many mouse clicks as possible between the user and whatever it is they are trying to accomplish.
Getting a nice look at the pretty mechs is nice and all. The rest of it is the absolute opposite of what a UI should accomplish.

this all is making me very frustrated, and ive had NO problems with anything up till now. You've messed up how i set up and look at my mechs to the point where i just closed the game and am going to play something else till i cool down. I will try again later but getting annoyed every time i see UI 2.0 is seriously going to reduce my enjoyment.

i agree and that is what i am going to do 1st quote. they just dont seem to understand what works and what we want. it looks pretty shiny and new but Functionality IS WAY TO POOR.

EDIT-
It worked after multiple tries. I'm not confident that it's stable.

1)put in how much tons an item is in the ui, when you want somthing user friendly an item tonnage would be very nic ebut there are item tonnages so it is very hard for somone new to the game to figure out how much tons an item is when they customizwed their first mech.
2)when you mouse over the description of the mech should say what engine it is CURRENTLY carrying and how many heatsinks it is CURRENTLY carrying. very useful for some players who share the same engine on most of their mechs and that it would be easyer to find an engine in a mech instead of doing 3-5 mouse clicks to check 1 mech for an engine.

Is this one of the cases where they don't claim it's "working as intended"?

Are you suggesting that releasing an "update" with no less than 34 "known issues" in a non-beta means something? What amazes me is that PGI will spend MONTHS waiting to tweak a weapon for a point or two of damage, but then will release an entirely new UI full of bugs.
The thing is, even if those 34 things weren't there...this UI is just plain awful.

I would also like to not have to click through pages just to get to my skill tree. If I have a mech already clicked on. When I click on the skill tree I’d like it opened for that mech. Not skill then weight then chassis then the mech I want.
I would like the option we had in the old UI to choose the game mode once per session and not have to click on the mode each and every time.
MY FPS dropped by 10-20. And I get better FPS in medium settings then low settings?
I would like to be able to turn off the interface sound with out turning down the game sounds.
I don’t like how the new UI has what seems like endless steps to get to simple.

Yeah, I "like" it too... in the same way I "like" getting my parts caught in my zipper...
Honestly, the all that eye candy is making things like the float-out info panels jerky and slow, probably due to my system being more than two weeks old...

Also, it is great, that I can finally have the front end in fullscreen (I hate windowed games), And finally I like the ability to rename my 'Mechs.
In the end, it seems to me like my game is running more fluently after the patch, congratulations to this!
But I'd also like to give you some constructive criticism:
1. First thing I see is ... nothing. In the middle of the creen I have my 'Mech and thats about it. Where are my C-BILLS???? etc.
2. Although I generally like the way you display the 'Mechs now, it just seems like an overload: once I open the 'Mechlab tab, I see a HUGE number of 'Mechs and have difficulties with maneuvering myself through this.
3. To me, the 'Mech configuration tab is way less intuitive and informational now, than it was before: I can't see the overall equipment of my 'Mech, I can't see, how many free slots I have left...
3.1. Also, I believe, that the window with the equippable items takes up way too much screen space (more than half of my screen is occupied by it!): Although it may look nice, I don't need to see an icon for every possible engine I can equip. If this blue window would be reduced to about 1/3 of its size, the freed space could be used to show an overview of my 'Mech.
3.2. It is quite fumbly to arrange the 'Mechs armor, because I have to zap through all the chassis spots individually. It would be great to have an overall armor chart that would have a tool to change a 'Mechs armor centralised.
3.3. Why isn't there any chance to have an overview of my 'Mechs weapons, ammo etc.? I don't like klicking through all the arms, torsos and whatever, just to discover, which weapons (whith how many ammo) are equipped and how many free spots are left. You could arrange this like at http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b#i=137&l=stock : they have a nice and understandable all-in-one overview of armor, weapons, ammo and equipment. For example, if you made the blue item selection window mentioned above smaller, the rest of the screen could go for a chart like that.
4. To me (playing at 1920x1080) the font size is WAY to small: for example, when I open up the 'Mech configuration tab, I can hardly read its specs in the lower right corner. These specs need to be in a much more prominent place and much bigger, as they are essential to the 'Mech. Also every single line of text is just really small, so that it requires some concentration to read them. In addition, the in-game-pause buttons (like 'options', 'quit' and so on) are way too small.
Conclusion:
There are a few nice improvements I really love.
But aside from that, you give me too few information on the empty home screen and too much in the item selection tab. Configuration is not really intuitive, but rather difficult. All the text in the front end is way too small.

- Text is too small in many places, or just hard to read. Most noteable on mech/equipment grids.
- Need an option to disable menu sounds. (frequently repeated sounds like this make me physically nauseated for some reason)
- Need an option to remove trial mechs from displaying in the ALL tab.
- The "check out" box in loadout is hidden in the corner and really should read "save loadout".
- I think everyone is pretty much in agreement that the current method of equiping mechs is a huge pain, and a system in which we can see the entirety of the mech's slots at once would really be nice.
- I'm in agreement with folks that having a dedicated armor value screen/chart to modify armor values would be pretty awesome. (although if loadout screen changes to look similar to smurfy's that armor system isn't bad either).
- The equipment/weapon grid in loadout screen could use some tweaking. The grid should be shrunk horizontally in my opinion to take up less space. I'm really hoping an option for a list mode is added as it only slows down mech building (especially the engine tab).
- Mech selection screen needs to list current loadout information of selected mech without the pop-up/tooltip system. If the mech grid was 5 icons wide instead of 7 there'd be plenty of room for it. Speed/acceleration graphs and a more detailed mech summary could be moved into the main page when you hit "configure" on a mech.
- Camo Spec screen should use a grid system or something similar instead of the single slide bar for colors/patterns. (tons of room on the screen, might as well make use of it and bring it in line with the rest of UI 2.0).
- The UI element displaying currently equiped upgrades and modules in their respective pages seems a bit too small and just a bit odd/out of place for some reason.
- Store should have more mech info + allow you to see/spin the mech when selected.
- Current MC/Cbills/Premium time just seems to work better listed on a top/bottom bar instead of taking up room with the weird corner box.
- I don't see any reason why settings can't just be an option on the home screen. Not a huge issue or anything but makes sense to me.
- On the Skills screen, the pilot tree filters should be shown as well so you don't have to click on pilot trees to get to them, then have to press "back" to get to the mech trees. There's plenty of room on that left sidebar to list all the categories.
- There should be an exit game button that takes you to the desktop rather than the login screen. Or just change the logout button to do that.
- Since the home screen is a tab it empy at the moment, I wouldn't mind having a column on the right side for news and announcements and such.
UI 2.0 is a step in the right direction for sure, just needs a bit of work to fix elements that overcomplicated things that should have been made easier to use. #1 priority should be the loadout screen for sure.
Also mech spinning is awesome. (I played way too much EVE)

but..
- where is some information about free/used slots?
- where the hell are some weapon/item stats? I can't se any pop-up with them even when staying with cursor on item icon for whatever long I want (yes, I know them as an old BT fan, but still it is somewhat usefull to have them ingame...)
- why the save button is called "check out" and why is it so small?
- why the trial mechs are displayed as my owned when I really do not own them?
- why there is no schematic clickable 2D Picture of mech I could use for selecting of mech parts like head, torsos, legs?
- why there is no doubleclick function for equipping/dismounting of items?
there are more issues to complain about, but if you fix those I named, I will be really happy
Thank you

2. How do you tell when your mech is out of combat and no longer deployed? From the main screen, I should not have to go into the Mechlab to find out.
3. How to filter out Trail mechs?
4. How do you filter out all items that you do not own, so you can see the ones you do own?
5. Can you not favorite a mech more? Then select it from the home page as a fast way to get into owned mechs say for instance my Fang is deployed and I quit the game then want to get in my Jager-DD in order to do that I have to goto the mechlab and select it. While fighting past all the Trail mechs.
6. The dropdown menus do not work, the grid and detailed buttons are both grayed out and of course non-functional.
Something I have noticed:
1. Selling items from my inventory are not leaving nor am I getting CB, when I back out and reenter all the sales I made are gone and I get CB, this needs to update in realtime.
