Even if it ends up being unable to mount everything and still hit above it's weight class, if nothing else, it surpasses the Locust for point-blank AMS trolling.

They will have advantages and disadvantages and have to find their niche within the over all team.
Is it realy such a bad thing that as pilots, we have a different tactic to think about and counter, or are we really saying we want every mech to be the same and only one way of playing the game?

It can also be used in light poker (ECM Raven), light sniper (ECM PPC or Gauss Cicada), anti-light defense (4 Streak 6s 4t ammo), or ambusher roles (ECM cUAC20 ERML 2t ammo)
Adders are a bit more interesting but considering the Prime variant has the TC in the Right Torso (in the Record Sheets), at the cost of any torsos with hardpoints, you will see most of the Adders with TCs and ERPPC/ballistic combos, in addition to the quad Streak 6 combos, or the cUAC20 combos the Kit Fox can pull off without the ECM.

ER ML's are functionally comparable to standard IS LL's - for 1 ton each.
2 ER ML's is some nice reach and firepower to go with whatever AMS/ECM/Streaks of choice.

True!
The Kit Fox A (CGauss Rifle + 2 ERMLs) has almost the same range and firepower overall of the Gauss Rifle + 2 LLs build i used to have on my Shadow Hawk. Again, a light with the firepower of a medium

Speed = survival for a light.
Then again,.. Ecm raven with 2ll hurts too,..

And the survivability of a medium. Despite that armor. Remember: CLAN XL engines. That is huge for durability, unless you get CT drilled that is.

Must admit its hard at first without the speed but the way bigger weaponloadout paid off in the end .
Ever seen a RVN3-L with [REDACTED],2[REDACTED],2[REDACTED] and ECM ? It´s a bit hot and slower than the standard build but kicks like a mule and still does not need to fear lights, especially sub 300m .
All in all (even without knowng how clantech and all that jazz will work) I´m looking forward to the Clanlights and what they will be able to bring to the table .

^this. I am looking forward for all Clan Mechs. I will be happy to get out of these strange second rate inner sphere chassis.
I desire to do battle in those that were designed by the scientist caste.

Anyway, there will be time after the first 8 Clan 'Mechs for a fast light 'Mech. Not as fast as a Jenner, but faster then Adder and Kit Fox. The hardpoints would let us use some interesting laser/missile builds.

I do think PGI's choices for their heat model are going to come back and bite them in the ass for Clan tech. Energy mechs are just far too hot, and Clan mechs will only be worse unless something changes.
