Dear PGI,

I have made this statement before, I will make it again.

Release the King Crab and I will purchase every variant, including hero variants, with MC. No questions asked. I don't mind if you arm lock it to get around the crit-splitting issue. I just want to scuttle around in my favorite assault of all time. I'd kill to play the KGC-000, KGC-001, and the KGC-010.

Signed,

Josef

I just really hope it won't be the banshee. We really don't need another mech with that kind of configuration. There are three assault mechs that can already do the same job, two of them with jump jets.

King Crab or Mauler/Devastator would by far be the most badass. Rooting for a KGC-001 "Clanbuster" Hero mech.

While Mauler is the rumor... Not sure if it will be because of the variant issue. Wouldnt mind seeing the Zeus, Banshee, or Cyclopes. Charger would be interesting.

The Banshee is dull, the Cyclops is a Highlander without the jump, and the Charger is awful. The Zeus is a bit men when we already have the Victor. The Mauler -could- be interesting, but other games have let me play the Mauler.

I really want to see my giant crustacean of area denial death.

I want the Banshee so badly, I have said this time and time again, but we really do need a mech to fill out the Assault tonnage gap since the Light, Medium, and Heavy tonnages have already been filled.

Banshee.

That being said the King Crab chassis could be implemented by barrowing the Clan Omnimech rule set for it's arms.

Quote

In addition to the limitations of the base configuration, the following rules apply when customizing any OmniMech.
  • If any of the following weapons are equipped in an OmniMech’s arm, any Lower Arm Actuator or Hand Actuator that was present in the base configuration is automatically removed:
    • Any Gauss rifle.
    • Any autocannon.
    • Any PPC.

So basically have the King Crabs arms use this rule where the AC20 in each removed the hand and arm actuators. Yes you'll be forced to only aim forward but it's a decent trade off for a 100 ton mech wielding dual AC20's.

So I think its about a 9 month lead time from idea to release, unless your request was back in June AND they acted on it straight away, don't hold your breath

We dont have a 95 tonner yet so the Banshee is a strong possibility; the Banshee also has hero variants. The Mauler is also a strong possibility because its one of the most iconic assault mechs. The Cyclops is a possibility as well (although less likely).

The King Crab/Devastator are highly unlikely for balance reasons. Both are way better than the Atlas and would make it completely obsolete. I'm fairly certain its not a 100 tonner.

Also we already have two 80 tonners and two 85 tonners so anything less than 90 tons is unlikely. Its almost certainly 90-95 tons whatever it is.

I said it before and I'll say it again it has to be a 95 toner because of the weight limits they r putting in soon. Every tonnage has to be in this game or certain combinations will not be possible. I seen the load outs for the banshee a bit further up and some look a bit straight but they can always change the variants a little bit no one is gonna care, and if u do thats just stupid because all combos must be present for weight balancing when limits come in and is more important then someone saying oh no it's not a cannon variant oh no oh no, shut up who gives a **** 95 tons needs to be present! Another 80 toner stupid, another 85 toner stupid we don't even use all the 55 toners in this game, they made a huge mistake putting in a ton of the same weighted mechs be fore they filled all the weight spots I just don't get it personally.

Because the 95-ton "slot" hasn't been filled and weight limits are coming, it's probably the Banshee. Releasing the Albatross two years early would've been nice, though (ComStar secret project as insurance vs. the Clans).

Urg, the Banshee is so dull, though.

And the King Crab wouldn't be nearly as OP as people think. You think the Atlas' weapons are low? The King Crab bumps its autocannons on cars as it walks. Its low profile is great for hiding in cover and blowing the hell out of anything that comes near its hiding spot, but a peekaboo pop tart it is not. Plus, we don't have a ballistic assault yet, and I'm absolutely dying for one.

People will just fit the Mauler as a 90-ton King Crab though, so I don't see what the problem is?

Any mech without a shape like the standard mech will get targeted first. I wouldn't want this mech.
