Buy a GTX 750 ti , be happy with or resell when new maxwell models come out or buy bigger older cards for cheap.
Amazing little card. Low power usage, if you pay your own utility bill it is something to consider.
Stay tuned i will try to fully test this little card in the upcoming days when i get my new CPU and Mainboard.

Get a GTX 770 with 4gb of VRAM.. Going from a GTX 560 Ti to a 660 or 750 isn't much of an upgrade, and you will likely be less then thrilled with the amount of performance increase you are expecting.

Err the 770 is quite expensive though. If you got the dough sure go with it. I settled with my gtx 750ti. So far i get framerates above >30 ( low peaks ) at 1600x1200. Funny though, the low peaks are moments when the GPU is not fully loaded by the system. These are inefficiencies in the game not issues with the GPU. Btw all settings on high.
I dont see the need for any bigger GPU unless you want 1080p and dual monitor or 4k gaming or something. Since MWO is most power hungry game i am happy with that little card.
Its inexpensive and overclockable.

Err, then wait a month or 2, and don't kick yourself in 6 to 9 months for buying a 750 Ti.
If you buy the 750 Ti you will be sorry.

"Cons: * Slower PCMark scores than the GTX 460 it replaced (01G-P3-1366-TR)"

I see things like this and wonder ^

EDIT: Do you know what you get for a $160.00 video card?
Answer: You get a $160.00 video card.

If you don't know what it means, you will if you buy a $160.00 video card.

Double Edit: I have run a GTX 560 Ti, and the only problem I ran into early on was that nobody made a water block for a non reference GTX 560 Ti..

READ THIS:

Seriously, click and read.

Triple Edit: Buying a 750 ti would almost be like buying an FX-6350, when you already had a Phenom II x6 1100 thuban clocked up to 4.0ghz, and finding out it the FACTS about the perfomance increase you "DIDN'T" get with the FX-6350 clocked up to 4.3ghz..

@ODIN Well both cards you mention wont really do well compared to the 750ti. The 750 ti is the never card has 2gb ram and uses less power.
In test i look at the 750 ti is comparable or faster than the 560 ti ( 2gb ram version is rather expensive if you can still get it ) or the 460 .. both cards are ridiculously old btw.
GTX 660 or 760 would be step up.

Cons is the price: its actually on a premium level at 160$. But htat is for the overclockable friendly card ( 6pin power and dual fans ) I do have the gigabyte version because i like their very good cooling solution.
Pro: overclock potential for GPU is around 20% more clock adn the card still works on air around 50°C

Its not a bad card, is low end of course and i cant say much about 1080p gaming yet. Havent tried it yet.

BTW: your comparison at the end... well thats nothing really .. stick to the hardware review that actually do framerate test. Because the 750 ti is running on a new GPU that can't be compared facts wise with the older cards.

Final: I guess he got the 560 ti refurbished.

Oh boy, 2gb of VRAM, yeah that's neat, BUT a $160.00 video card is going to perfom like what it is, a $160.00 budget video card.

I know the gtx 460 and gtx 560 ti are older then the 750 ti, so back it up right there chief. I just don't see him being impressed by any slight increase in performance he might get, and I see a lot of people getting trapped by the old "it's a newer model, so it must be a lot better then what I have now", and that trap gets get quite a few people. The 750 Ti is NOT a massive improvement over a GTX 560 ti any way you cut it.

http://www.techpower..._750_Ti/25.html

It's only a 60 watt card, and that is nice, but it doesn't justify it as a great upgrade, not by any stretch.
It will never be able to SLI either, there are no SLI connector pins on the card, but I wouldn't SLI that card anyway.

He's better off waiting a month or two and getting a GTX 770 4gb if he has the PSU and system to run it.
The GTX 770 4gb VRAM card clearly beats the snot out of the GTX 750 ti, so what's the issue..??

FYI, I never said he should buy a GTX 460, or keep his GTX 560 ti, if you read back a couple posts you will see that I recommended the GTX 770 4gb card..
Hopefully he could save up for a month or two to afford it.

So were you confused or something..??

On a side note: I wouldn't use a GTX 750 ti, I like to upgrade, NOT go slightly sideways.
