But here's the problem. I have the Timberwolf (heavy mech?) coming on the 17th. I was actually considering getting the Kit Fox (light) and Nova (medium). So that would give me 1 of each class of mech to play.
Another question too is with the Timberwolf, do I really need a Jester or Stalker?

That's a tough decision. There's a public test which involves the Clan mechs tomorrow. It uses a separate game client so be sure to download it ahead of time. There you'll get a chance to try your Timber Wolf ahead of time, see the others in action and decide for yourself.

Personally I went and got a Jester anyway.

I suppose you could consider the price of the Centurion bundle and the price of another mech via A la Carte.

If you choose to go with more Clan mechs, it's fairly safe you'll be wanting to go the Clan route. They are separate factions from the Inner Sphere mechs. If you decide to own some of both, you'll be able to play either side once Community Warfare comes along.

Either way, use some MCs on Mechbays; you'll want them if you're in it for the long hall.

Hi all, Fairly new to MWO. I've been playing trial mechs and just hit the 26th mark so got 10M to spend on a mech. Also, I am willing to buy MC and get one of these on sale. Was actually though, considering the Centurion bundle where the sale champion CN9-a(c) would be included.
But here's the problem. I have the Timberwolf (heavy mech?) coming on the 17th. I was actually considering getting the Kit Fox (light) and Nova (medium). So that would give me 1 of each class of mech to play.

I heard the Death's Knell is also not worth investment.

What am I trying to accomplish? Picking 1 of each class of mech, reaching elite (levelling up all variants). But really just looking to start customizing and levelling up a mech. Tired of wasted xp and no levelling heehee.

Personally I don't foresee myself EVER playing my Inner Sphere mechs ever again once the Clan mechs are released. That being said, and as Koniving mentioned, check out your clan mechs on Sunday, and see what you think. The Centurion/Stalker package is a permanent sale, though the Jester ends on Tuesday.

I guess i could see that..... But If PGI, goes against lore, and makes thing blanced, which they should IMO... I would think i would still love playing my IS mechs... even back in the day i loved many IS mechs over clans.. though the madcat and couger and thor.. are some of my favs...

I think we'll find that some IS mechs are better at some roles than others.

- Frankly, I'm not a poptarter - but those guys who can lay out the precision converged damage are better in the IS world I think.
- LRM 40+ boats in the IS world handle AMS better.
- I've seen a crazy number of D-DCs running arond today.
- The engine size limits on clan mechs makes some customization even harder.
- IS lights are faster.

I suspect some IS will continue to shine. Some heroes (Firebrand, Misery, maybe Ilya) and lots of specific mechs will continue to be A-OK.

Much much faster. My locust goes half again as fast as anything the clans can currently field, and it's nowhere near mastered. The Clans need the Firemoth, for great MASC justice. Or anything with MASC, really.

Still waiting for the Firebrand to go on sale... think I started playing right after it was last time.

Also thinking about the Arrow, or the Golden Boy (which I was avoiding, but I've recently fallen in love with the LRM5 boat concept, and would like to have a cbill bonus while doing it :)

Are light hunters still going to have a place with the clan mechs out? Don't need a specialized mech to drop clan lights.

it can deal a lot of damage to any sized mech, just not pinpoint...but the 3 MPls can put a hurting on things too :)

There is a scroll bar, scroll right to see the full selection.
Double checked, it's every variant of the mechs I mentioned.
