Put an XL325 in as minimum and all Dragons are good!

The Flame, Fang and -1C all have high mounted hardpoints in the LT allowing you to conserve your precious CT armour for the later stages of the game.

If you like the Stormcrow, you'll like the Flame.

I admit I haven't driven Dragons past a couple trial mech matches, but I'm highly skeptical of this comparison. The thing that makes the Strormcrow good is its amazing (especially torso) hitboxes. This runs exactly counter to the CT-magnet the Dragon has that makes it so easy to kill.

Once you get the Dragon on to double basics it really does play quite similarly to the Stormcrow.

With worse hitboxes.

And less weaponry.

Taking up a Heavy slot in your group, too.


But all that aside, I love my Dragons and would like to see more in the field. Almost all the Flame/Fang pilots I run into nowadays are superb to have as a wingman.

Was thinking of getting a PB for laughs... I've got an XL400 laying around from my BH. 3000MC is still a bit steep for a joke build, though... what do you guys think?

Unless you actually want to use it,
Unless you particularly like Awesomes,
I don't think it'll be worth it.

I bought the X5 at 1500 for a joke build, and honestly, while it's an alright mech, not worth it for the amount I've actually used it + its performance.
I may come back to it later, (when I finally come to Master Cicadas) but currently, it's only really used as the tertiary mech in my hard grind sessions for the C-Bill bonus, and I constantly change the build because I can't find anything I'm happy with for it.

I use mine with 2LL 2SRM4 1SRM6

I use mine a fair bit, but it can be frustrating.
The slower deceleration is a double edged blade, it can help you get places no other non-jumping assault can
It also makes maneuvering around the field tricky (really easy to wander into other peoples fire lanes)

Not bad, but I keep hitting the spacebar for JJ's, augh. Sometimes it is just fun to put a smaller engine in it and 4 SRM 6's. The Splat jenner. I was having fun with 4 LRM 5's. Most of the time firing 20, but when I find someone in the open all alone, just chain firing the 4. Then there is going in a light wolf pack chain firing the streaks. I still like the Sarah's jenner the most.
