Yes, now it's much cheaper to convert the guidance systems of a Mech to-and-from Artemis, but you need to install either normal LRM Launchers or Artemis LRM launchers on your Mech, depending on your upgrade status. Same goes with SRMs, too.
It used to be that you could install the same launchers no matter what guidance system you had, and only the ammo was segregated between the two systems; now you have to purchase and mount Artemis LRM launchers if you have the Artemis Guidance system installed, and you have to mount normal LRM launchers if you have normal guidance.
The point is that once you buy a few of each kind of Launcher, then it's cheaper to go back and forth between normal and Artemis Guidance systems than it used to be. There's more up-front expense than there used to be (since you need to buy duplicates of your launchers), but less long-term expense if you want to swap guidance systems frequently.

But until you can balance weapons without trashing the way they work (Gauss Rifle) my wallet will stay closed.

Right?
Yes, I'm posting to give feedback that their latest attempt to dazzle the players with a free champion mech did not have the desired effect on me. If you're having difficulties comprehending that, I could perhaps draw you a simple diagram or something. Maybe I can act out the situation with sock puppets?

10/10 would pay 200 million cbills to see this puppet play.

Also, the challenge was too easy to consider it to be interesting at all. PGI failed us with the free gift and no effort to win it. This was a bad move with giving out a 'Mech!

Now how about a Tournament with a Hero Mech as a big Price or free Premium time? Or add special Mechs that can't be bought through MC or Cbills but can only be won. Just a little balance as to effort/reward.
Maybe some free items at a certain Experience level.
Reward people for playing. Reward good players better.

If people have nothing to complain, they complain about having nothing to complain. This is serious conspiration theory crafting... you guys need a hobby. If you don't like, don't do it.
It was free, everybody had a reasonable chance to do it and newcomers have a mech to try out. Nothing to bolster your e-peen? Sorry for that, but complaining about something you got for free is kinda ********, don't you think?

This wasn't so much aimed at vets as it was lower-end players. Even still, 5 wins = +1 Mechbay and a nice chunk of C-bills.
People are looking their gift horses so far the mouth here it resembles a colonoscopy.

It doesn't work, which is why Jack was commenting. Change the filter to "Owned Mechs", and you still see Champion mechs you don't own, and they're highlighted with yellow buttons to see how many suckers will buy them.

Pretty cool, that devs FINALLY do something for community, even with game that x months after release still sux. Should have come sooner and should be more often - perhaps then quazillion guys like me would play more often than few weeks in 6 months, realizing game still is WOT instead of mechwarrior we were promised and leaving again.

Considering those are the current Trial Mechs, and you can use them as you like, I see where they fit into the "owned" category...though they probly shouldnt be.
