Regardless of your opinion about premades, pugs, solo, separate queues, etc. it is very apparent to thsoe who have broken down the data, explained why the dynamic has shifted a bit, and understand that not everyone who drops solo is actually dropping solo as a pug but trying to sync with buddies in a 4man.

MOST of the players that I know that drop in premades and such are not going to wail and flail, heck many will never post a single thought. They won't make a big production out of anything. They won't stop playing but they will stop spending money. Most of the players in this section of the population aren't dropping $10-20 every couple of months or spending a little cash upon entry into the game and then stopping. These are they types of players that are going to buy things like the Masakari pack, gold mechs, a year of premium time in blocks, etc. They make bigger and steadier purchases. They're not going to stop playing (well I'm sure some of them will but I digress) but they ARE going to stop spending that money.

They aren't going to post 50 threads talking about how they refunded this or that. They aren't going to talk idiocy like suing, nor are they going to threaten people. They're grown adults who simply will stop supporting the game. They'll stop paying for websites and teamspeak servers, they'll stop organizing leagues and tournaments. They'll just play to stomp and shoot for free. This isn't a dire doomsday foreshadowing but realistically it is a good chunk of steady money and support for this game and community.

Exactly and MWO will become "hey you guys wanna drop this weekend a few times while (insert game here) is down for maintenance?"
The decision is just bad for long-term success of the game. Hopefully they'll take a deeper, more meaningful look at the numbers

Upon further reflection...

Everyone talks about how the private matches/group queue should be without rewards because of the potential for exploiting the system.

In my opinion, it should be the solo queue that is without rewards (XP,Cbills, Acheivements), because it encourages PUG farming, and people will be attempting to sync drop and pummel the unorganized soloists

Solution: Ban grouping altogether, and rig matchmaker such that you won't run into the same players even if you sync drop. Put a hard cap on the number of times per day you can ever run into a given person ;). MUWA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!

Its rather annoying that potential farming done by far less than 1% of playerbase, will screw the remaining 99% of people who just want to play with their team and their friends instead of some randoms. I don't know any other MMO that does not allow you to play only with people you want to play with while still progressing and earning in-game currency.

Farming can be tracked and punished given the effort, but instead we punish all who don't want to farm and just want to play with people they know rather then what random horribads matchmaker assigns to your team. So in order to earn c-bills / exp you'll either have to pay real money or be stuck in same good ol' PUGwarrior online. And in turn in order to not play with random people you'll again have to pay real money (either premium time or MC), while getting nothing in terms of in-game rewards. Sorry, but this is PURE BS.

Honestly PGI, the more you try to squeeze money out of your players the less they'll actually pay. And the more you do this kind of BS, the less organized groups you'll have in your community. Less groups means less community warfare, less CW means game dies much much sooner.
