Then again mine does this at night.

Currently it's running 1 ER PPC, 4 ML, and 1 tag and a speed of 92.6 without speed tweak. So about stock speed for a Jenner.

(Forgot, Jenners not elited yet.)

Not everybody has enough experience to avoid over extending and keeping away from streak boats and other lights.

I love slow Jenners. They're crispy and taste good with BBQ sauce.

I don't even have that experience. :)

In other words I frequently over extend.

My RVN-2X used to be really slow as well (XL 210 until I got Shad-5M with XL 275 for dual ER LL build.) Had to dodge pretty much all main combat and snipe from extreme ranges. My RVN-4X is really slow still as an AC20 jumper. :) Have to be careful of overextending in the 4X however or then I'll get focused.

I elited the F and working on D and Oxide ;) (I use 6Mlas/Splas on F/4 Mlas 2 srm4 on d / 4 streaks on O)

This is a real fun mech ! But I didn't know the Oxide missed the JJ, was real hard at first to get used.

Now, with the XL engine 300 being a must because of the Cbills costs...what heavy mech would you get after eliting the jenners?

If you're saying if you can get XL 300 from another mech (and the mech is heavy) then the mech is Orion M. Atlas K, Centurion D, Trebuchet 3C, and a couple other mechs have XL 300 off the bat. If it's just any heavy, then on your playstyle you can determine what you want.

I have already the XL300 which I use for Jenners.

My playstile atm is of course fast and close range fights.

So I'd want something heavy and long range for the new mech

The Dragon and the Catapult are XL-friendly heavies. For XL300, a Catapult with an energy-focused build would work. Consider 2xPPC+2xMPL+2xMG K2, or 2xERLL+2xML+2xSRM6(A) C1. The Dragon is exceedingly hard to use, so I would hold off on that.

a question, I was reading around a bit in the days, and I found that MG can "crit" when the armor is ripped, is it when you don't see the the external lines surrounding the piace of the component anymore?

what would be the style of play with the catapult? in particular the MGs on it.

what about the jagermech?

Exactly. That is why lights with multiple MGs can be very scary late in a match.

Use the PPCs (even ERPPCs if you can manage the heat) to snipe -- preferably over ridges -- early in a match. When enemy armor is opened or something comes close, focus it with MGs and MPLs. Their range profile is similar, and the weapon slots are close together, so you can group them together to cause major pain. You have very good cooling for either of those weapon groups, and OK cooling for both when you need them.

Not as XL friendly. There are strong builds that require shooting over ridges and from far away. Dual [insert any big gun] works, but requires map knowledge and good positioning. The side torsos are very easy to hit consistently.

I unlocked all the elite skills for all my jenners.

Now I want to buy a victor with this build :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b129bae9fee523e

or this

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c1caf789833afdf

to use the XL300 I already have.

what do you think is the best one ?

cos I never had autocannons so far.

Is it safe so sell my engines from the jenners ? (2x STD245 and 1xSTD235) or those engines can be used for some builds ?

ofc I'll sell one of the 245s since it's useless to have 2 of the same, but an extra 1,4m is appealing

Don't sell any engines (unless really cheap or multiple engines of the same kind). So I would say keep all the ones you have as of now, you may want them later (like if you had Centurions or Hunchbacks). I think those builds on the victor are not bad, though you'd be running pretty hot in them, and survival will be somewhat tough due to XL. Also, you may want to relocate some of that ammo, maybe too much or in wrong areas (too much in torsos, plus XL.) You could try them, but you may want to redesign them a bit while keeping the same general idea.

Pulse lasers generally should be avoided. They are too hot and short-ranged. You want the UAC5+LL combo for pure DPS (streaks for close-range defense), or UAC5+PPC for jump-sniping. Taking an AC20 can also be lots of fun. Note that you want to upgrade to a bigger engine when possible. The Victor really shines with high speed.

yeah I read that victor is inbetween assault and heavy, I only have XL300 so far thanks to cadet bonus so I will just run your first build sugggested with 1 less JJ and 100 more Streak ammo, since I'm already mounting BAP as well I might just use 200 shots, so that I can chainfire too with the AC/5 to shake cockpit.

after I have it I will try to get a bigger engine too ^_^

OP, If you nab the K, play around with NARC.

Tomorrow's patch includes NARC and missile speed updates.

I tried the victor with various configs but I don't really like it.

I'm looking for a mech that isn't either a brawler now a sniper, but a mech that can do good dps with support fire using good positions. I tried to use the victor like that but I got focused very often as primary target, which I don't like to be (yet, anyway).

I still find that I love the jennes, maybe cos it's my first mech, but I have fun in it and not the victor, so I'm searching for a new heavy with ballistics!

suggestions ?

Well the Victor recently got nerfed a bit, so maybe that could be why. Were the builds tried the above posted ones, or is it another build? You can try more focusing builds, like maybe STD engines/faster XL engines, more reliance on ballistic energy combos of sorts (like you can try something like LBX + AC5 with smaller energy and missile weapons). You could also consider trying out the 9K and 9S, maybe stick with more of the same kinds of weapons. You could try brawling with mini Atlas builds, or sniping, or even LRM boating on the 9S (for some reason I see that build commonly, dunno why.) I suggest you to stick with the Victor, and keep searching for loadouts. If it truly doesn't work, you can try Cataphract, Jager, and Orion, all strong powerhouses with ballistics.

Yes I ran those builds, ofc I will try more but with the Oxide thanks to 30% cbill more and noob friendly play style that can net 300-400 dmg easily I want to buy a new one anyway, because I get the feel that it's not a mech for me.

I like the JagerMech JM6-S hardpoints, but the DD comes with XL260 that I can use on my jenners as well (now that I need AMS with new LMRS and that I want a lot of ammo when running SRM4s).

So I can't decide again
