My dream was a year or two of awesome CW between meaningfull factions followed by a Clan expansion pack with a Battle of Tukayyid community event.
$500 gold mechs are probably just as good.

PGI is has stated that they will be doing a time skip at some point.. but they haven't said when and how much of a time jump.

Theory crafting, but it would make sense to "jump" to the next TRO probably?
Well.. the logical step would be either Battle of Tukayyad or Operation Bulldog so that you start seeing IS Omnimechs.
So yeah.. that makes sense.

I just think its the sale of mechs that make the cash for them (well probably ).
So there will be marketing around key timeline points, but I imagine it might be something like .....
let things run for a bit now that Clans have arrived. Maybe some community events or competitions around key battles.
Then "jump" to 3055, Tukayyid over now and all the new IS mechs are coming into the line (Titan??) and some Clan second Lines.
Then let it run again, more competitions and events around battles / timeline.
Then "jump" to 3058.
And so on and so on.
I can't see anyone hanging around for 13 years for their mech of choice, but if PGI can get 3 / 4 years out of the timeline until Dark Age I think they are doing pretty well.

mhm, Stop at Dark Age I suspect.
MRM's probably not too hard to put in I guess, same as Heavy Gauss. Mechanics are all there so its just balancing and tonnage will do most of that.
But Variable Speed Pulse and the like, yeah it's tough as it is

Well, I think they'll probably add these weapons later than the mechs of that timeline, like they did with melee weapons (still not added).

How about three years after we get CW firmly in place. Lets get a chance to play the game the way it should be before we skip ahead.

Biggest problem with this mech is that the Heavy Gauss point into the ground.
You have to tilt backwards 45 to take a horizontal shot.
Or it's one heck of an overkill for infantry?

Using only those 'Mechs from both tech bases that have at least three variants/configs at or before the Battle of Tukayyid, PGI could release "one IS 'Mech + one Clan 'Mech" per month, every month, for the better part of two-and-a-half years before running out of 'Mechs.
Strum Wealh, on 18 February 2014 - 03:54 PM, said:
I would expect that "two 'Mechs per month" is more likely to mean one of each tech base until they run out of 'Mechs for either.
The IS still plenty of 'Mechs left (assuming three or more ~3051/pre-Tukayyid variants + the implementation of MASC):
- Flea(FLE-4, FLE-15, FLE-17)
- Thorn (THE-N, THE-S, THE-T)

- Mongoose (MON-66, MON-70, MON-67, MON-68)

- Hussar (HSR-200-D, HSR-300-D, HSR-350-D)

- Panther (PNT-8Z, PNT-9R, PNT-10K)
- Assassin (ASN-21, ASN-101, ASN-23)
- Clint (CLNT-1-2R, CLNT-2-3T, CLNT-2-3U)
- Crab (CRB-27, CRB-27sl, CRB-20)
- Dervish (DV-6M, DV-6Md, DV-7D)
- Hermes II (HER-2S, HER-2M, HER-4K, HER-5S)
- Sentinel (STN-3L, STN-3K, STN-3KA/KB, STN-3M)
- Vindicator (VND-1R, VND-1X, VND-1AA, VND-1SIC)
- Vulcan (VT-2T, VT-5T, VT-5S)

- Zeus (ZEU-6S, ZEU-5S, ZEU-5T, ZEU-6T, ZEU-6S-DC, ZEU-9S, ZEU-9S-DC)
Additionally, changes to the MWO Engine weighting system could allow for the UrbanMech (with its UM-R60, UM-R60L, UM-R50, and UM-R63 variants) to be implemented, while (per the suggestion of Bishop Steiner) removal of the lower-arm and hand-actuators would allow for the implementation of the King Crab (with its KGC-000, KGC-010, and KGC-0000 variants) in the absence of the (inordinately more preferable, IMO) ability to crit-split those weapons that had the ability in BattleTech.
