If not, is it because you aren't running SSRMs?

I generally put BAP on any mech that doesn't run ECM. Even if I don't need to lock on, someone else might benefit.

Streak + BAP for sure!

With 3 SRM6 or 4 SRM4 its not needed, but handy still.

Short Answer: Heck Yup !

Longer Answer: Absolutely HAD to with my build and the way that I pilot !
My Oxide is built out with full features for a long long dance of death:
BAP / AMS w 1 ton / 4 Streaks (SSRM2) w 5 (FIVE) tons of ammo.

I kept running out of ammo with 4 tons. Often.... and now have
regular games of 1000+ points with 1-2 kills regularly and 3-5 often.

BAP makes it all possible.

I feel the same way, but running out of ammo on my Oxide makes me very, very sad inside :*(.

yeah that 4 vs 5 tons of ammo can be a killer in long matches. that's why i'm hoping we get some token head slot enegry weapon so i can ping away with a SL or something when out of ammo. still for now i'd rather suffer through possibly running out vs. dying with lots of ammo left because i couldn;t target that spider/raven/cicada to shoot at it.

Artemis and BAP on my Oxide. It boosted my kills and damage immensely.

BAP is also useful if you have ASRMs. Just hope there isn't a massive ECM field though.

last I heard the oxide was getting rebuffed since PGI oopsed on it and overnerfed it before it came out.

Was hearing something of adding 2 more missiles back to the mech and a pair of JJ or putting 2 energy on it and a pair of JJ.

All it really could use is jumpjets. Well, and maybe better SRMs, but that's a bigger issue. With SSRMs and their ridiculous cockpit-rock, though, it's a force to be reckoned with as-is.

in a podcast they said they were fearful of a 6 SSRM oxide and so removed 2 of the missiles. Now that no one really likes the mech because it has fewer hard-points then the normal jenner. Adding in a pair of Energy to the LT/RT or LA/RA would go a long way to helping the poor thing. You would see 4 SSRM and a pair of MPL or ML, add in 2 jump jets for the mech so it can get some mobility over hills.

I would foresee more people getting the mech, or using it more often. Hero mechs are (will) be the main cash-flow (beisdes Premo time) for PGI, the older hero mechs (like the HM ect) are good mechs that are similar but yet different from normal mechs of its class. Keeping with that idea the La Mailiche should of had one more ballistic or another energy in the missile torso. As even now, its difficult to get a well balanced build (impossible) on the mech.

4T is plenty of ammo if you're doing your job (killing a-hole lights) and not just chain fire spamming Assault mechs all day.

4 is the minimum, but 5 tons keeps you trolling. ;)

Yes. And I don`t run SSRMS, but 4xLRM5. If you`re the fast LRM support for the light mechs, the last thing you need is some dumbass in a Raven or a Cicada shutting you down.

That said, I even run a BAP on a few mechs that don`t even have missile hardpoints... the only thing better than friendly ECM is shutting down enemy ECM. ;)
