Hey again guys!

Just wanted to point out a fun little tidbit I found on the Clan Invasion page

I checked out all the price lists for the different collections I will use the Puma 150$ collection as my reference. You get 5 Prime variants 10 Standard Variants a bunch of cockpit items, digital art, and 90 days premium time for 150 dollars.

I went down to the Ala Carte and I did some fiddling, you can get all those variants plus an additional prime and 2 standards for 180 dollars with 90 days included but no cockpit items.

I am considering buying this way because I can pick and choose what variants I want and still get the premium time.

What do you guys think?

The way the ala derp is done, you need to buy six mechs to get the same price of a collection: EI You buy the Ryoken collection instead of puma, for $180 and get the same crap in the puma pack, with the addition of the ryoken mech and a few extras of the fluff items.

Ala kart is there to abuse people that want Timberwolfs (madcats) essentially.

How would Ala Carte abuse people who want the Timber Wolf? They could replace the Ryoken with the TImber Wolf you still get the value, premium time, just not the badges and cockpit items

I do not mean to fight at all my friend just wanting real advice on this :P

When the Clan collections first came out, people were throwing fits about the prices - almost entirely because of the price of the Timber Wolf (alone!) as it was "The only one they were interested in"

So PGI threw the A La Carte in so they could have their TWolf..... for almost twice the price of a single package.

So the single 55 dollar mech is why they put Ala Carte in? I am considering buying either the Puma Collection or buying 6 specific variants of what I want. I just dont know what I want to do

I'd hold off till they release hard-point specs and footage of the Mechs.

They have the at the top of the page my friend, all the individual mechs you can hover over, and see their specs, including their loadouts so you can get an idea about their hardpoints.

I would go more for the full collection - for about the same price you get the same number of mechs + the other bonuses.

A La Carte is mostly for those who only want 2-3 of the chassis.
IE: you spend enough that you get the same or near the same number of chassis - you get more total value from the package.

IE: Premium time+....

I was kinda considering that. Buying the Puma collection because itll get me 90 days premium time and some fun variants. Just didnt know which option is more viable. Thank you for your input, it is much appreciated :P

Also what is premium time plus? I know you get 90 days with this package but is there bonus time?

Biggest problem (and it shows with the progress of the Special rewards, which has been trapped at 80% sense they put it up) is alot of people got burnt by project phoenix (bada bum psh) in that the primary variants that had the cbill boost, were often crap compared to the other variants or at the very least sub par and I think a lot of previous PP investors are a little hesitant even with the clan sugar trying to lure them in.

Im one of the few lucky ones in that what Im interested is in the bottom tiers, its just a question of do I trust PGI enough to throw $60 to get a "hero" nova, or wait a few months past initial release and stick with the pricey cbill versions (even a clan medium can cost more than a atlas).

It's all about priorities. If you don't care for cockpit doodads, then Ala Carte may be for you. I got the Overlord package over time, ie got my Shadowhawks, then talked myself into some more heavies, then I told myself I didn't have any Assaults....

+ the other things: badges, warhorns, titles and the like.
We don't really know enough about them to put a value on them - but there is/should be/may be value there.
(IE it appears the Warhorn is what causes Heavy Metal's music to play)

If you put in your package order before the end of February (I missed it by one day) you got extra premium time though.

Put it in though by the end of March and you get the monthly rewards at the top.

Edit: also - the package is upgradeable: IE you buy the Puma/Adder package you can pay the extra $30 to jump it up to the Storm Crow/Ryoken package and so on

180 dollars...would equal the Stormcrow/Ryoken Package, which at that point is only 60 bucks from the complete package. The only reason to spend 180 ala Carte is that you really don't want two of the Chassis, like say you aren't interested in Light Mechs at all and want to avoid paying for them regardless of all the extras you miss out on.

Granted the Wallpaper, Warhorns, Medallions, Titles and Badges aren't needed, but the Bonus Modules might be worth the expenditure...we won't know until they spill the bean on them however.

What is the social boost? What does that mean? Facebook likes? Twitter followers? and I agree, I was looking at the cheapest package with the 90 days premium time myself. I like all the clan mechs so I am not picky and choosy. What happened with the burn? I mean I read that people didnt get their mechs on time but is that really a problem now?

I THINK the social thing refers to something thats supposed to be in community warfare, IE its not actually in game yet but its presumed to be a sort of faction reputation system (kind of like facebook likes, but with more killing and less pictures of kittens). As for the burn I mentioned, essentially the 30% cbill variants were the less than popular variants of each mech, I think it was the locust, battlemaster and griffins that felt the shortbus (Griffin cbill variant was the 1N for example, which is considered far beneath the popular 3M) though I believe shadowhawks did well, dont know about wolverines.
------------------------------
There are also some questions, while I KNOW what to expect from a Nova Prime (6 energy points, dur) whats its other variants? Will they included interesting variants or simply cheap copouts like the Nova-A instead of Nova-D? (N-A has 2 ERppcs and a med pulse laser, so nothing that the prime can't do in loadout but the N-D has a LRM20 and a LBX-5 allowing for more loadouts) these questions will be answered eventually, but right now those are big walls to deal with. Also clan packs will be bringing new and even radically unknown tech, LBX5 will it be as laughed at as the LBX10? How about the Targeting Computer found on the Warhawk(masakari) and Adder(puma)?

WILL THE COMMAND CONSOLE EVER HAVE A USE!?! :P

Wrong. It has been going steadily upward since they put it up -- the first time I noticed it was at 40% (weeks ago), and it was probably put in a few weeks before that. If you just noticed it at 80%, that means you haven't been to the page in a long time, or you just weren't paying attention.

The variants that are used for the boost on the Founder and Phoenix packages are the variants that were the most common in the lore. The fact that they aren't the super-min-max variants in this game has no bearing on that.

Well the number's were moving fairly quickly up until the end of February, probably a mixture of paydays and people trying to get the bonus premium time before the offer expired. It's been at 80 but it'll slowly move and possibly have another burst at the end of this month. Guaranteed we'll be past 'Phase One' before months end. We'll probably complete Phase two sometime in April, really the only question is will we complete Phase 4 before June 17th. The answer will probably be yes depending on a number of factors, such as what are we getting with each phase, what other features are implemented between now and then (Achievements, Launch Modules, etc.) and how well they're received.
