Ok, maybe I'm just insane then. I only ever had Maxtech, but knew there were technologies that had dropped out of circulation (e.g. LAMs) as the L3 books marched forward.

Only super-heavy 'Mech I know of was the ones from MW:DA, was unaware that they had the construction rules of them out. Anyways, to keep the thread on track, here is a design I made a couple years back, circa 2001 or so;

Dominator DM-3R

Mass: 95 tons
Tech Base: Inner Sphere
Chassis Config: Biped
Rules Level: Tournament Legal
Era: Age of War/Star League
Tech Rating/Era Availability: D/D-E-D
Production Year: 3005
Cost: 8,482,500 C-Bills
Battle Value: 1,778

Chassis: Norse-GM HeavyTRQ Standard
Power Plant: Pitban 285 Fusion Engine
Walking Speed: 32.4 km/h
Maximum Speed: 54.0 km/h
Jump Jets: None
Jump Capacity: 0 meters
Armor: Kallon Royalstar Standard Armor
Armament:
1 Luxor Devastor-20/Defiance 'Mech Killer Autocannon/20
1 Federated/Defiance 'Mech Hunter Autocannon/10
2 Magna Mk III/Defiance B3L Large Lasers
Manufacturer: GM Industries/Norse-Storm Technologies Inc
Primary Factory: Kathil/Solaris VII
Communications System: Dalban HiRez-D
Targeting and Tracking System: Federated Hunter

Overview:
Known for their preference for autocannons, House Davion put out a bid to firms
in the Federated Suns to draft a new assault 'Mech that used heavy caliber
versions of their favorite weapon to deadly extent. GM Industries, producers of
the famed Marauder answered the call with a 95-ton assault 'Mech based on the
Norse-GM HeavyTRQ chassis - the same chassis as the Nightstar, a high-tech Star
League-era 'mech that GM no longer had the technical means to produce.

Structural plans for the 'mech were finalized in 3005, and the 'mech underwent
a series of intense and realistic trials before it was accepted by the AFFS and
put into placed into full production status at the conclusion of 3007. The
simulations proved that though untested in real combat, the new chassis easily
was able to match, and dominate any opposition of the same weight class. From
its domination of all of its opposition in combat tests, the new 'mech was
christined the DM-3R Dominator.

After the Federated Commonwealth alliance following the marriage of Hanse
Davion and Melissa Steiner in 3028, a Lyran firm, Norse-Storm Industries - the
same firm that originally cooperated with GM to build the Nightstar centuries
ago - was allowed licensing of the Dominator's blueprints. Recognizing that
the Dominator fit their combat doctrine perfectly, the Lyrans wasted no time
and quickly began to produce Dominators in mass quantities from Norse-Storm's
production line on Solaris VII.

Capabilities:
As the design specifications outlined by the AFFS called for an assault 'mech
armed with heavy autocannons, the Dominator features two large-caliber
autocannons - one a class-10, the other a class-20 which provide the Dominator
with a brutal one-two punch. The longer range Federated AC/10 (Lyran-produced
Dominators make use of a Defiance 'Mech Hunter autocannon) is used primarily in
conjunction with the twin Magna III Large lasers (Norse-Storm uses the
Defiance-made B3L lasers) mounted in the Dominator's arms to soften up an enemy
until it reaches suitable range to open up with the massive large-bore,
short-barreled Luxor Devastator Class-20 autocannon nestled in the Dominator's
left shoulder.

The Federated Autocannon is the same used by the Enforcer, and engineers at GM
have overcome the jamming issue that plagued the Enforcer by mounting the
cannon in the torso and reworking the ammunition feed system. The Dominator
also overcomes one of the Federated Autocannons largest shortcoming - a
decisive lack of ammunition - by utilizing an ammunition clip twice as large
containing twenty rounds instead of ten that is still as easy for tech crews to
reload as the entire magazine is removed and replaced at once.

Though only effective primarily at shorter ranges, the Luxor Devastator
(Norse-Storm produced Dominators are armed a Defiance 'Mech Killer autocannon)
can devestate even the heaviest of armor and can even sever limbs clean off of
lighter 'Mechs with a single direct hit. The brutal large-bore cannon creates
an inferno of excess heat putting a dangerous burden on the Dominator's heat
dissipation systems - especially when fired in conjunction with the Dominator's
large lasers. To ensure the Dominator can accurately engage targets, the
autocannons and lasers are tied to a Federated Hunter computer, famed for
providing the Enforcer deadly accuracy. As the Dominator features a similar
weapons loadout as the Enforcer, the Federated Hunter suite was a natural
choice for engineers when selecting the Dominator's targeting and tracking
system.

The Dominator is powered by a 285-rated fusion engine, it can comfortably
cruise at speeds of up to 35 kp/h and can push itself to run at speeds of 55
kp/h. This gives the Dominator a comparable movement profile to an average
'Mech of its weight class. Seventeen tons of Kallon Royalstar armor make the
Dominator a hard shell to crack. The plating is well distributed amongst the
Dominator's chassis, making the Dominator one of the most heavily armored
'Mechs on the battlefield.

Deployment:
The DM-3R Dominator has been produced in large numbers by GM of Kathil since
3007. Regarded a high-value design by the state, units were ordered to destroy
any fallen Dominators in place to deny the enemy the ability to salvage one. In
one battle during operations in the Fourth Succession War, two Davion
aerofighters managed to destroy an entire company of Capellan 'mechs that were
desperately trying to capture a disabled DM-3R.

Due to the extreme security surrounding the Dominator, it remained exclusive to
the AFFS until the 3028 Norse-Storm licensing deal. After Norse-Storm's lines
were completed in 3030, the Dominator soon became a common sight on both sides
of the Federated Commonwealth. The Davion units concentrated their Dominators
in units such as the Kathil Uhlans and Davion Guard RCTs, as its heavy
firepower and high resilience fit their combat doctrine. The Lyrans have
enjoyed using the Dominator in any role possible, including recon.

Variants:
Upon recieving the license to produce the Dominator, Norse-Storm developed
their own variant of the 'Mech that highlighted the Lyran combat doctrine of
overwhelming firepower. The DM-3S removes the class-10 autocannon and replaces
it with a second Defiance 'Mech-Killer AC/20. The large lasers are also
removed, with a trio of TIC-linked medium lasers replacing them in each arm.
Though lacking any sort of ranged firepower, the DM-3S variant has proven to be
a brutal in-fighter, and has become popular in the Solaris VII dueling circuit.

Ladies and gentlemen, at ease. Its a fun post and thread. someone wants to post a mech beyond normal specs, let them. long as they stay within Table top rules (expanded no doubt for the larger than 100 ton variety). no need to take things seriously here. Check out my racing flea and tell me how serious this thread is =)

Only since a month, though. You can find the rules in here.
With my design mostly to demonstrate what is possible with Super-Heavies (nope, no tripedal 'Mechs, quads are in, though).

Well you all seem way more adept at Battletech/Mechwarrior then I am ( I thought I was a really big fan). Not sure how it would work out in the game but I was always a fan of Mechs that could take a beating and still give on back (Atlas/Fafnir/Dire Wolf), so I figured I would try to make an "earlier" Assault ( I am sure that some of the technology I use is probably not up to code):

Name: Shieldbreaker
Weight: 100 ton
Tech base: Inner Sphere

Weapons:
- 2 Autocannon 20 (right and left arm
- 2 LRM10 racks (right and left torso)
- 1 Autocannon 10 (left torse)
- 2 Medium laser (center torso)

Endosteel frame
Ceramic Armor
Top speed: 25 Kph
Single Heat sinks ( not sure how many would be needed)
Height : 8.5m

Overview:
House Davion has always used Aitocannon. With the advent of the LBX series they
looked at a number of ways of utilising it. this variant was intended as a
close range mech with some ability at medium range. The double heat sinks mean
that this mech runs extremely cool, even when firing all weapons. Ratehr than
increasing weapons or maxing out the armour it was decided to give 3 tons of
case protected ammo to allow it to operate for longer periods without resupply.
The mix of slugs and cluster extends the options. It is hoped that this will
provide a good solid front line mech urtilising all the newly rediscovered
technology. A further possible change could be the droppinh of 1/2 ton of
armour to fit an AMS to give protection against missiles.

First however it needs to undergo in use trails to see if it's promise is born
out in the field.

My personal favorite custom: the Jenner JR7-DC

Swapped out the normal Fusion engine for the XL model, upgraded to double heat sinks, dropped all the medium lasers, jump jets, and the SRM-6 and replaced them with two PPCs and three small lasers. Both PPCs and two of the small lasers are on the arms, so they can fire out the rear arc and the third small laser is on its head.
I also replaced a Flashman's Fusion Engine with an ICE so it only has one heat sink. It was pretty funny.

As has been noted, can't be built, but here's something close to it. Had to downgrade the secondary AC to keep the armour from becoming pointlessly thin, but otherwise not bad. Gave it enough heat sinks to fire both AC/20s and the MLs and only overheat as much as its movement heat. (so leaving a ML off every other turn will keep you heat neutral) and the AC/LRMs complement each other well at long ranges. A bit of an ammo hog, though, won't have much longevity.

Yeah.... I really don't know the fancy form you guys use..... I want to get into the table top game but no one in my area plays. I say that because people are talking about books.

Now I added the smaller AC as a way of having another weapon, it could be removed and I would be just as happy.

Nothing wrong with it, looking at it again it's less like the Mackie and more like the love child of the Titan and Hammerhands. not actually that bad of a design overall.

The formatting (at least in my case) comes from the mech design program "Solaris Skunkwerks". Invaluable if you're a fan of making mechs.

Played around with the Shieldbreaker concept, too - couldn't get it to work as an Inner Sphere 'Mech without having absolutely no armor or heat sinks - as a Clan 'Mech its pretty awesome. Two Ultra AC/20s to shred through anything it sees with an LB-10X to seek out critical hits once the armor has been gouged away by the AC/20s.

Yeesh. Way to much criticizing in this thread. It's for fun, who cares if a design is illegal? Space reserved to post a mech when I get home.

Pointing out that a 'Mech doesn't follow the rules isn't criticizing; if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. There's a very specific ruleset that has been put out over the years that describes how to make a 'Mech - you can't just say you've got a 35 ton 'Mech with two gauss rifles, two ER PPCs and runs 128 kph with 25 tons of armor. Game doesn't work that way. For those who don't know the ins and outs of the construction rules, someone linked to Solaris Skunk Works - pretty much works just like the MechLab from MechWarrior 2 and 3 - lets you choose your tonnage, equipment and weapons and lets you know if your design is legal. I'm terrible at math, so even with the rulebooks in front of me I always end up off in my calculations - SSW is an indispensable tool for me.

So it might not be the IS Mech I always wanted it to be, but I could handle it being a Clan.

Only since a month, though. You can find the rules in here. With my design mostly to demonstrate what is possible with Super-Heavies (nope, no tripedal 'Mechs, quads are in, though).

Thankfully with a size that huge, it can't turn for crap even if it made it to Mechwarrior. :)

what hillarious there? Just as maneuverable as the Annihilator. :) (and not that much more heavily armed, come to think of it)

The Clantech "Gausszilla" has more firepower, yes.
The Omega has around twice the armour of that design.
