You should come across my Cent-A once in a while.

You can mimic/surpass the hardpoint count of the Cent A with the Shadow Hawk 2D2 (the 5M only has 2 missiles, and the 2H has only 1 energy). You'll gain a high-mounted ballistic, jump jets, greater XL-friendliness (Cent side torsos are fairly large, Shadow Hawk has well-balanced torsos), slightly more armor, and a little bit more firepower. What you'll lose is...basically nothing at all, unless you have some kind of love affair for Cents instead of caring for boosting your effectiveness.

I will found that game NOW!

No doubt it would be ridiculous to release the mech without a proper functionning melee mechanic. But if they did a simultaneous release of that functionality and the mech I'm guessing a good part of the community would be happy.

Anyways, we know we're far away from melee so I'd be surprised if it was the Hatchetman.

I would love to have a working melee system, but even then the ax would probably be more of a hindrance than a help since it would be easy to hit.

So with this mech basically being confirmed, how competitive do you think it will be? It just seems to be strictly worse than the blackjack

we already have the Kintaro and Highlander. Only notable difference is that it has one more missile hardpoint, natively, than the Vindicator. But speed, and weaponry is comparable.

I'll pass on the Vindicator. I have been gaining a fondness for Mediums. But, not that one.

I guess it depends how PGI decides to eventually deal with melee weapons... I'm not familiar with how these things work in TT either.

Should it be a separate hitbox? Is there a danger of players using it as a shield if it partially/fully blocks damage? I guess there are a lot of different variables to factor into the melee mechanic that aren't even part of the offensive utility. Time will tell I suppose.

If melee is good every mech will have one, or two. If it is bad then the Hatchetman will be stuck with a bad hitbox for no good reason, or drop the hatchet and just be another mech.

Unfortunately early models of the Vindicator suffered from a design flaw wherein the head-mounted laser created a bulge in the cockpit. More than making the space cramped for tall MechWarriors, it also interfered with the ejection propulsion system, resulting in the deaths of a number of MechWarriors when their escape pods exploded during ejection. Engineers managed to redesign the cockpit layout prior to the War of 3039, eliminating the deadly intrusion and decreasing the chance of said unfortunate malfunction.[1][3]

Both mechs have there own flare. I would like to see a community poll since the Vindicator, and the Wyvern are really the only choices.

I think the Wyvern is a graphic artists wet dream but the LIA Moo Shoo Pork Vindicator has its jack of all trades quality.

Dare they release 2 mechs in one month.

Com star revamped the Wyvern for the Battle of Tukayyid So it fits the June meta. At the same time the Vindicator was so mass produced it also fits lore.

I might add the Wyvern has never been done before in any MechWarrior game.

I already got the Banshee so its time for someone else in the community to make the choices for mech selection.

"The Vindicator carries as its primary weapon a Ceres Arms Smasher PPC in its right arm, giving the 'Mech a weapon capable of striking at long ranges and doing a respectable amount of damage. The weapon also features an innovative cooling jacket which possesses water intake ports around the muzzle, allowing the pilot to dip the PPC into a body of water and quickly cool it, with steam exiting via a nozzle at the opposite end. However this process leaves the Vindicator vulnerable as it must kneel motionless for ten seconds."

Unless this functionality makes it in, you can keep your Vindicator!

I love my meds, but with the current state of missile HSR, a 45 ton laser/missile mech won't do that well...

That being said, if/when we get it, I will play it.

Not mean, I want it! But only if I can kneel by a pool of water and cool my PPC off for 10 seconds at a time! It's the most important feature of the 'mech - just like the hatchet of the Hatchetman!

And you wouldn't dream of having a Hatchetman without the hatchet, would you? That would be just... a man.

Chances are, the noises you'll make with the cooling will sound like a fart. Then, everything suddenly becomes awkward. ;)

So, you're saying that I'll die of embarrassment before the enemy gets a chance to kill me?

I just knew there'd be some flaw in my Cunning Plan™...

With melee weapons like hatchets and stuff, does that tonnage come out of the mech's weight, or is it in addition to it?

That is, does a hatchetman get 45 tons of weapons, armor, etc... AND the hatchet? Or does he have to pay tonnage for the hatchet itself, as though it were any other weapon?

Cause if it comes out of the mech's tonnage, and takes critical slots.. seems like it'd be totally craptacular.
