But it will be very interesting to see how it is implemented and in what direction the achievements pushes the game. They could be use to encourage diversity (example: 50 drops in 10, 20, 30... different mechs), group play (100, 200, 300...4/12-man matches), supporting roles (successful TAG/spotting etc.), teamplay (100, 500, 1000 matches won). Guess we know on Tuesday.

and don't care for stat reset
keeping them would be nice to get some achievements on roll-out
but i guess resetting them helps to negate problems
so...yay for unproblematic achievement release xD

I like the idea of Achievements. After maxing 50+ mechs (XP and equipwise) i need something to achieve. And i need a reason to bring older, rusty mechs out to the field. (Like in other MMOs, for me, reaching the max level with good equip is the end...game)

But, I do like the Stat Reset though. So, I can easily see how much better I have gotten in my "Baptisem by Fire" like start. When Trial Mechs were Stock Builds and the Match Maker picked purly at random with no structure at all.

Question's for the Dev.'s:
1. Can we get a list (complete or not) of what the Achievements will be?
2. And are there various groups of these Achievements, that can only be completed under certain conditions?
3. If a pilot has been playing for a few years now, should that pre-complete some of these items?
- If the stats were tracked that far back.
4. Are there separate Achievements for Factions and Merc.'s, with some possible overlaps?

- "Achievements are a way to track specific accomplishments when playing the game such as, destroying a certain number of components, amassing kill assists in each weight class and various single game challenging feats!"
This seems to mean they will all be combat (damage) related, and very short term goals.
- They all favour low ping players. Let's see some latency awards for the geographgically challenged.
- No long term progression encouragement.
- On the bright side, we won't have all the Exploit Warriors bragging about their KDRs through some of the very heavy Open Beta issues (Splash damage, ECM, Streaks, Pug-stomping, Poptarting, Ravens). We only have the current issues to deal with.

There should be lifetime achievements parallel to the seasonal ones. We closed Beta and open beta testers don't expect much; but we do expect that what we've accomplished counts for SOMETHING.
As a closed and open beta tester myself, I understand how you feel. However, for the game as a whole, a stat wipe had to be done. Here's why:

Resetting our stats is the lazy way out. Par for the course with PGI, I guess.
I have no doubt that there will be some technical difficulty and so the "archived" stats will in fact disappear. Otherwise, why delay having them available after the reset?

Your assumption here is that PGI considers this a "team" game. If that was the case, CW would have been out last year. Note: all accomplishments will based on individual stats. There are no "team tags" allowed in the game. The constant drum beat of fairness to the solo player.
Don't get me wrong, I like the game, just disappointed with the lack of support for "clans" as such.
