Damnit, why did you have to go and put that in my head?

I think something like this can go both ways. It can get people to log in and work their stats again, or it can make people feel a bit overwhelmed at the thought of trying to start it all over again from scratch. Like many, I had such a history that a really bad night, or even a week of bad nights, wouldn't impact me too adversely. With the rise of the FOTM meta and my refusal to participate (never bought a Raven, Highlander, etc., and only recently got into Victors since the DS sale), I've seen my ratios slowly decline to finally land at an overall KDR of 1.95 as a 99.9% pugger. I've been trying to get it back over 2.00, but it doesn't look like it's happening. Knowing the recent trend in my stats, I'm not looking forward to leveling out recent purchases. I have a feeling I'll end up dropping in only my best mechs to make sure my stats start off on a good note. Petty, but true.

The grind...the ever-present grind...she's a harsh, will-obliterating mistress.

Yeah for me it's the the more negative take, im afraid.

Stats take a long time to build in MWO. Unlike a respawn based game kills etc come much slower, plus the learning curve, etc. Racking up 10,000 matches only to have it reset a year after release is not my personal "hooray!" moment.

Yeah the stat wipe will have no real effect, but I will likely miss out on a lot of achievements due to not leveling all the mechs I have already done.

Again not a huge deal to me, but odd that your prize for playing this game for the past year + since last stat wipe is another stat wipe. Why not just accrue Achievements for things you have already done.

Like Master 50 mechs, or play 100 matchs in every variant of a chassis.

Seems like a mind game more then anything else, a try to get you to grind the same mechs another 100 matches. Maybe I'm way off the mark, just seems obtuse.

If it was when CW was released I would understand it more. ^_^

See there are cases like this:
HUNCHBACK HBK-4G 49 29 20 1.45 48 33 1.45 15,212 43,622 04:35:39

I chose the HBK-4G as my Founders mech. There is no way I just played 49 games with it. So about 30% of my mechs the stats are already wrong which is why I have no problem to begin with the stats just being archived and starting over. Some mechs will probably be zero for a long time (Trebuchets) after this. I'll just take what i get I suppose. Sure some of my 2.00+ KDR mechs will now be zero (I have nothing that is over 2.6). I can live with it.

Plus with the new hoops they'll be putting in to make grouping even less fun, and being forced into the PUG queue, where is my incentive to work as a 'team'?
Might as well just wait for half of them to derp into the PUGZAPPER, and clean up afterwards, or maneuver between them so I can get the PUG queue double whammy of not only being able to steal the kill, but yell at my team for putting rounds into my back.

There is no change to the pug queue. In fact, with 3-3-3-3, there will be far more exciting matches.

Most people are dealing just fine with the 4 group limit. Sorry it's got you so bent out of shape. But it's fine, really.

I don't imagine this is how PGI likes to see people adjusting to the 4 group limit.

You don't even understand the logistics that PGI came to, because there are actual problems with the system. All systems have their problems, but the likelihood of a particular problem manifesting themselves in the new system increases significantly when you don't understand your own telemetry.

Really it's not though. You have a lot of people NOT dealing with it just fine. Most units with websites, TS servers, etc. aren't nearly as "excited" as they were before. Not being able to group up and not being able to participate in CW and not being able to earn rewards isn't exactly something I'd call "fine".

It's setting MWO up to be a smaller success than it could be simply because, for some reason, PGI has changed it's mind regarding group sizes. MMOs (especially ones like this) thrive on groups and community. All they've done with the announced launch module is alienate a large section of the population. Why in the world would I drop money on stuff like premium time when I can't even earn cbills if I want to play in a group larger than 4. This has been discussed at length in various threads so I won't rehash the details I've laid out in those other posts.

As far as this reset goes? This shouldn't be a "surprise" to anyone, it was announced as a likely thing to happen months ago

Looks like a pretty good match to me. 6 left on the surviving team isn't exactly what I'd call a roflstomp, or any other stomp.

Meant running bunch of assaults because everyone wants to run one. Though I have better screen shots with more assaults on a side but for whatever reason, my work PC is only loading like the first 5 pics from my steam account.

Maybe after the stats wipe it'll be more glaringly obvious to them which weapons and mechs people DON'T like.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY? I wonder why there were 84 people playing that Friday night. It wasn't because of the group announcements, Roadbeer.

I'm confused in how both times you've quoted me you've failed to address the more important part of the achievement folly. This would be the "forced" to do it again concept to receive the achievements you have already completed.

That is your gift for the dozens of days of "game time" invested. Kinda counter intuitive. I won't be redoing those 5000 matches of leveling of all variants of a chassis, and if that is an achievement then veterans get owned. I'm sure there will be lots of these said "grinding" achievements.

The stat reset is just a minor inconvenience, one that I care not about TBH.

Oh, you mean when http://mwomercs.com/...28#entry3132028 was going on, making grouping... problematic to say the least. In fact, it had even gotten worse up to and including that weekend

You want relevant statistics? Start tracking the number of people on your teamspeak over the same time period before and after the launch module. If the numbers in crease, then you can happily come back and say you were wrong.

We don't even know what those achievements are so how are we redoing it? Oh, playing 5000 games? Aren't you going to play 5000 more? No? Then why bother? Look, I understand that you don't want to redo some mechs at 100+ matches. We don't even know what this system will bring yet. If it has play XXX number of matches per chassis then yes, it sucks. But I am telling you that using the old system, my HBK-4G has more than 49 matches played but that is all my profile is telling me I have.

Edit: My Dragon 1N is mastered but according to my profile, I have a total of 17 matches played in it. Like I said, some of my mechs show incorrect matches played because they were mastered before stat tracking. If I had to play 100 matches in this, I'd have to go back and do 83 more anyways because of this.

How exactly is 3-3-3-3 going to be more exciting? Sure, it might be for the first week or two, but then what? Every game is going to be the same with 1-2 DDCs, 1-2 Victors, 1-2 Cataphracts, 1-2 Jagers, 3 Shadowhawks, 2 Firestarters, and some dumbass in a Locust. At least now you could see a team of all lights, or all assaults. Personally I find the unknown to be far more exciting than cookie cutter nonsense.

Most people are fine with the 4 group limit? I'm not buying that because I see a lot of people that are clearly not fine with it, and heck I am a solo player and I find the 4 man group limit to be absurd.

I usually do, and in this case, I don't think it'll be a problem.
Having an active population of a few hundred users, makes it easy to track metrics like that.

Meh, I'd like to be proven wrong on this one actually.
I'd like to see that just the ability to play with more than 3 other people, not receive rewards and jumping through the hoops to launch against another team isn't that big of a deal, and justify the extra 75 slots we're paying for, and have our retained, active, population get back to the 1,000 mark instead of hovering around the 500 mark.

Don't think it's the Launch module as described that's going to do that though.

TBH, I'd like to be proven wrong on the things PGI says and does. However, if/when I'm right, everyone loses.

So, your agreement with Heffay is nice, but when you're right, you're still on the losing end for being right. That's what makes it frustrating.
