OK, so theoretical economic hard times in the Inner Sphere, and you can only afford to have 1 mech. Which means you must sell all of your mechs in your stable but 1.

Which one is it? (Post model and loadout, plus a small reason why you keep that one.)

For me it's my Quickdraw 4H. May seem like an odd choice but I love this mech. Fast, jumpy, a decently powerful. XL engine is not as much of a liability in this chassis either. Also, great for chasing off those pesky lights! Lots of fun to ride ;)

So, preach it brothers and sisters!

SDR-5D

1 ERPPC, 2 MLaser, ECM, XL 255. Your on your own for the rest ;)

Great scout, nearly uncatchable, great ECM cover for team & disrupter, and the best uav deployer out there right now. combined with the ideal infinite sniping gun for winning unwinnable matches as the game draws out.

Just don't get headshot by arty strikes :P

wow...tough choice, between my HBK-4G and.......

But..... Jump Jets. (And no, I don't poptart).
SHD-2D2
Why? Because it is the perfect mech (well, could use a skosh more mobility, and a little better peripheral visibility, BUT, then it would be just plain OP). Good speed, jump capability, all purpose fire power that rapes Lights or Assaults with equal eases, at any range. And if you are remotely competent at twisting, it has nearly perfect hitboxes that allow you to tank damage that would make an Atlas blush.

Best thing I hear about it? When my teammates shotgun me after they die, and almost universally copy the build, because it is so blasted effective. And all the more so, because it doesn't need ecm or broken hitboxes to excel, like the Spider or most lights. And it can't rely on armor and massive alpha like Assaults or Heavies. But as the epitome of Medium Mechs, it is the ultimate reward for pilots, people with good peripheral awareness, good pilot skills and good tactics.

Poptarts and Spiders can wag their epeen all they want, but real skill is in being a successful medium jock.

(Was that preachy enough bro?)

My Shadowhawk 2D2 with this build, with a streak launcher perhaps swapped for a few more heat sinks and maybe the third jump jet re-added.

SHD-2D2

In general, though, the SH2 has most of my favorite qualities in a Battlemech; it's a medium, can jump, has respectable armor/weaponry/mobility/speed, and carries good, relatively-versatile hardpoints that are spread out in a manner that prevents all of my weapons from being taken off by losing an arm or something. The only way I could like it more is if it wasn't such a humanoid-looking mech, they're not generally my cup of tea.

Grasshopper, you seem to be missing your ballistic weapons and the essential pinpoint damage.

still waiting for the mech that can outduel me 1v1. And yeah, I take punishment, because my Shad spreads it like a BOSS.

Meh. Not a huge fan of ballistics, despite MWO's meta. I considered building it with PPCs to mimic my favorite Uziel build from MW4 (2 PPCS and a SSRM6), but I think the heat issues decided me against it. That's the beauty of the 2D2, though, if I feel like using ballistics or whatnot I could slap them on and build around them. That's why it would be the one mech I'd keep.

I generally take it out with the posted build when I feel like chasing off Lights (usually after getting pestered by one or more in a match). My 2H is my ballistic carrier.

Def would be my Thunderbolt 5s-p. xl 275 double heat and endo, LRM 20 + 10 with artim. 4 M las. 2 machine guns with a shit ton of ammo. Play it like a support mech and you'll pull 800 damage on average. I've peaked near 1.2k with it.

From a rational kind of view, ON1-VA ... you can do everything with this big little mech. STE300 + 4x SRM4 and LL Brawler ... AC20 Brawler ... LRM50 ...

Outherwise Hell YEAH!!! ;)

OP

HBK-4G
In hard times this is still going to be fairly cheap to run, assuming I have to pay for repairs and ammo.
That one had an R&R cost of under 50K, the stock build would cost about 15K for R&R.

Mah meks iz lik mah childen, I kant chuz jus wun!

To my mind, it would be a tough choice between either my SHD-2H for its amazingness and versatility (I can do anything!) Or my CN9-A because it was my first mech I mastered and still take out occasionally, even in the current meta.

EDIT TO ADD: I will say my first to go will be my Kintaro, though. Those things suck Chef's chocolate salty balls. I would keep my Locusts over them for raw troll value.

My Dragon Slayer.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b6a215365dbd797

Able to work with STD and Xl engines, Gauss rifles, all kinds of ACs and much more the Dragon Slayer just carries so many builds so well. As well as being the right combination of speed and durability.

The Victors in general are really well rounded and I find them huge fun with a variety of builds and play-styles.

Very close behind it would be the K2.
For very similar reasons.

Yes, FS Meta DS, I know. XL330, Jump Jets, 2x AC5, 2x PPC, this is the mech I want to hop in when I just want to go stomp people. The CPLT-K2 (and Jester) hold a special place in my heart, as I'm at around 1200 drops between the two, but I've done about 120 in my Dragon Slayer, after 440 in an Ilya, and I don't see myself liking anything more than this Dragon Slayer.

my Urbie...oh wait.

ok Streaktaro 18, 2ML, and 5 streaks, AMS, BAP, 4 tons of ammo and um...whatever engine it has.

honorable mentions to hunchy 4sp, oxide, Jenner F, Jager S and BJ-1X in no particular order.

first to go would be my Blunderbolts followed by my stalker
