is the scoring made for KSing? cause it looks like the less damage you do, the higher your score will be.
if you come across a light team that doesn't allow you to put allot of damage in, you would also end up with a low score.

i dont understand why they dont just use the match score or the cbill point system (before boost). there is alot of factors like taging, component destruction, salvage etc. that isnt factored in. their current system is made for kills and ksing and you have to go up against a really heavy team. (for better chance to do more damage)

Well... I don't really like the cut-off to prevent me from playing just because some other guys have a few hours head-start on me. It's not like I'm gonna somehow get an advantage from jumping in late.

Yes, actually you would get an advantage by jumping in late. The participants in the winning faction get a special faction banner hanging cockpit item (which apparently isn't on the store yet). If you were allowed to join late, you could just wait until you see a clear winner (as of this posting, House Steiner has a large lead), join that faction, and then opt-in for the free (and currently exclusive) item.

To me they should have announced this a full week before as I know many who log on just for the weekend and have missed the opt-in. Or lock faction changes and choices once the tourney began so no one would be left out on a "community event".

I've enjoyed the tournaments. Like the Challenges, they give us something a little extra until CW is finalized. The only feedback I have is that it would be helpful to see not just our score, but the 10 matches we have that contribute to that score with kills, assists, damage done, friendly damage done, if it was a win or loss, and the total points we got for the match. To get a better sense for how we're doing.

LoL, I seem to be doing quite fine in my Heavy Mech, and I haven't had to 'KS' or drop an Arty yet...
Also, looks like Edmiester is still in the top 10 of Kurita, and he's infamous for being a light pilot...

Pretty cool so far, Davion is so far the only Faction not to have broken 20k matches, but we're currently in 3rd place. Keep up the good work loyal Sun worshipers. :)

Because it is Mechwarrior, which is based on the Battletech universe and Battletech has some of the best lore of any Sci-Fi setting (even though lore does not play much of a role in MWO right now).

That is utter nonsense!
They said faction choice was locked in at tournament start, even if you changed factions you are still tied to the faction you had at the start of the tournament.

It was stupidity or it was deliberately biased towards certain players. From the time stamp, they announced it late Wednesday night in the NA, after primetime, and after 2am in most of Europe as well. So if you did not log on Thursday and notice the advert for it among all that garish stuff at log in, you missed out, and than to have the cutoff so early in the next day for the NA is plain stupid.

MWO Tournaments arent really anything besides a humongous grindfest of fighting the match maker until you get a good game. Just look at the scoreboard. PGI isnt rewarding skill, it is rewarding grinding. I take that back, you have to have skill to win, you just need to do nothing else that weekend to get your drops in.

Who are the biggest winners? The guys who can drop 200 or so times in the weekend. Every time I look at what PGI does, I feel like they are trolling me and taking my money for the privilege.

you need to get 6Kills with 6 assist and a bunch of dmg to rank, it's hard as hell.

Was just in a match and had Grzly disconnect during the match. It is always a shame when you have someone gaming the system chasing after 5 bucks.

I opted in on Thursday and for some reason I am not in the contest. This was the first one of these I wanted to enter so I sent PGI an email last night but no response yet, I don't know why I am surprised typical PGI.

Pretty much on the mark. You're fishing for good matches, and the more drops you put in, the higher your odds of getting that golden ticket. Got time to play all weekend? There you go.

And this is from the guy who peaked around 17th or so before I just wanted to claw my eyes out at the constant advertisement for how -horrid- the current matchmaker is. You're playing one match with a pack of competent players, the next with 6 guys in Trials that start the game by shooting each other.
