So i got the hero raven when it was on special. Its so good. Why did no1 bully me into getting it before? It's so much fun. :)

Most people consider it crap, because it is ammo dependent. I personally think it's a hoot and a half. Can be a great striker mech to be honest.

Whine:

Seeing SO many people comment on the MWO Facebook page's status updates with accusations and facts that are so..sooo wrong, thus stirring up a sh*tstorm of PGI hate.

ex.
"Look what PGI did to MW Tactics, you really want them to make a new game!!?!? F U PGI"
(nope...)
"They can't even finish MWO and they're already starting a new game!?!?!1?"
(First off, 'finishing' an online multiplayer game? What??"
*PGI Announces New Game* "LOOKS LIKE I KNOW WHERE THE GOLD MECH MONEY WENT"
(An issue already addressed by Russ)

It's kind of strange when 40 year old men have their period whenever PGI adjusts a weapon's heat by 1. ( No offense to women, I know it can be rough )

This happened a couple of weeks ago.

River city night. I'm a legged but otherwise healthy LCT-1E, 6 SPL's, last man standing. I take cover in the tunnel, hoping to catch some damaged enemies. Some ****** on my team starts revealing my position in the chat. I tell him it's against the rules. His response? "So is hiding".

Mmmyeah. If you could go ahead and uninstall MWO, that'd be greeeat.

When people don't have information, they will speculate and accuse. Conspiracy theories will abound. :)

Unfortunately, it is the way of the internet. People will make fun of, mock, put down and accuse everyone before having faith that they are doing things the right way. However, that is often because the negative people are angry and more willing to voice their opinion. The people who are happy are still playing the game, or doing so in a fashion that doesn't garnish so much attention.

You could always post on the facebook page and put more positive comments, share your good thoughts, opinions and don't let people who are only negative be the only voice heard.

:)

And Ljusdahl, if you have people committing team treason, report them to support@mwomercs.com so we can review!

I tried doing that here.

And got banned (repeatedly) for "picking fights"

Not to mention it's nice that the FRR gets a Hero Mech to roll in.

Bonus points for being a Pilot named Himself in a mech named Huggin, since if you customize your loadout, standard Battletech naming protocol would dictate that your mech would now be called "Huggin (Himself)".

*Edited to add, that I suppose my whine is that I can't find anything in the above scenario to whine about since it's too hilarious...

I have an amazing amount of fun in my Huggin...and only once have I ever run out of ammo in it (and did over 700 damage that match...would have been more if I could aim)

Today's whine: Players who would rather talk and do everything in their power to distract the team from the game. (Now that general Coms are off they talk to the team)
We always lose when some guy starts asking questions like, "ever notice we always rotate right when on skirmish?" "why do you think that is?" "shouldn't we just stay where we are so that we don't walk in a circle?" etc. etc. etc.
As soon as people offer an answer the provocateur begins an argument. Others wade in and we all die.
*sigh*

srm12a huginn is a blast :)

he is so much fun I can't believe his name come up in a wine thread ( unless one killed half your team in a late match rampage )

Now we just need Munnin.

My whine:

Faux-pro players who think that running meta builds meant they were skilled, complaining about the PPC nerf, and asking for it to be removed (Kinda agree, PPCs should be at least 1200 m/s), so that they can go back to being 1337 pros. I swear, I thought being a good player meant you can adapt to the game. Am I wrong?

In my view, it's being able to perform consistently. It's also about being a good influence and rolemodel for newer players, or those less skilled. It's also being able to take criticism on the chin (99% of players can't do this) and learn from your mistakes.
Just beacuse you can adapt to something-don't make you good, it makes you adaptable^^

Improvise, adapt, overcome.

It's a tactical mindset. We used it in the Marines.

The old military adage "No plan survives contact with the enemy" is countered by the "improvise, adapt, overcome" mindset rather than doggedly following a plan that has become tactical unfeasible during to a change on the battlefield.

An MWO example would be an enemy team with a pile of ECM coverage rendering your missile boats useless. You going to just roll over and die, or are you going to focus fire on their ECM units so you can bring ALL your firepower to bear? Another would be Crimson Straights with the enemy boating LRMs and your team with no ECM coverage at all and loaded up with brawlers. You going to try to close to wade into them, getting creamed while they whale away on you, or are you going to shepherd your pugs under the platform or into the tunnel and make them root you out?

too many ppl simply whine too much about weaps. adapt to them. its not so hard. it only helps your aiming skill. take it as a challenge.
i always prefer a ER large laser over a PPC anyway... everything with a minimum range makes me cringe....

Made a run through the enemy, completely turning them around and disrupting their line. Spent 2 full minutes having them blindly chase me, making them easy pickings for my team. I came back, limping and smoking, only to find my team in the exact same spot they were when I made my charge.

We lost.
