the last 2 days....not sure I've won a game..

of course the teams I've been on seem to intentionally ignore the enemy, ignore the minimap, ignore the UAV that is showing everyone where their entire team is... all they seem to want to do is run a pre-programmed route on each map, and nothing will deter them from hitting every waypoint before actually firing at the enemy

so, from now on, i'm just going to hang at the back..sniping... and laughing at the lemmings as they run off the cliff together

lul. i had a battle where i should have done the same. literally 10 mechs trading long range fire on forest colony assault. ofc on the right top corner... but i was in the brawl victor -.-
so i hopped up above the cave entrance and waited. and waited. and got bored. jumped down...

straight into the arms of a dire wolf + 2 more mechs streaming out of cave o.O he was so surprised to see me from above that i could land the first alpha before he fired, straight into his centertorso. he had 4 flamers too so man it was hot so close.. i tell ya and i couldnt see much after all :S

torsto twisting like a crazy ragemonkey (ew..) another alpha, another wild torso jump twist and another alpha from me he slowly tapped back... center cored.... man i was never more focused on something than trying to kill this dire... but some greedy ******** even did not want to finish my sole work. i got cored hard just because some dudes blocked me -.- still got the dire but i was done and over just because of my own teammates that been hiding under the arc.

a complete 309 damage done. literally 200 to that dire and another 100 to a TBR that tried to kill me later on...
lowest damage of all assaults just because of some greedy idiots on my team.

the whole thing is: if you brawl you either get left alone while your team shits pants or you get blocked when they try to get the final blow. with nothing bot long range weapons.

ye i should take a break until players get less idiotic but i love this game and battletech too much to not log in for a week =/

On Terra, it is assaut mode. I am the last one standing. I have a semi fresh 3L. The enemy has a semi fresh Crow, a fresh Stalker and a beaten up Ferret.I run around and try to split them up but they know better. I tell my team I can't take them as they are but I might be able to take out the Ferret if he splits away.

I also overhear the enemy saying they can't take our base because they'll get killed (the Stalker should be able to do it if he's half competent).

In the end my team thanks me for wasting their time and the enemy says "Cowards never win"

I respond: "No they don't but they preserve k/d" :D

Hehe but you sir, was like a mini Godzilla on a sugar-caffeine-kendal mintcake-fuelled rampage in that adder.....5 kills and 700+ damage? O_O
We got 8 kills between us. I got pinned by 6 enemy....managed to brawl 3 of them to death....whilst I was doing that the creeping death went about his work, one erppc at a time:)

And of course, they need to eliminate precision weapons from the game by introducing a refinable cone of fire mechanic like WOT (something every gun bunny just screamed in rage about) or elminiate all convergence since it is either too expensive or too hard to create dynamic convergence.

None of what I did would have been possible without a teammate who single handedly occupied half their team for over 5 minutes. What a luxury it is to be able to move and shoot with impunity because people are doing the right thing and engaging the enemy.


Oh, and I don't know what a Kendal mintcake is :(

i know gun bunnies and well ok. BTW any crew serve weapon crewmen also knows about the cone of fire. hell anyone who has worked with none guided weapons systems understands it or should. in lore this is what made weapon ranges what they are the ability to reliably hit a mech sized target. 3 minute of angle is all that is needed to hit a man sized target out to 300m, same with a gauss rifle but minute of mech is a bit bigger then 3 MoA but hay who am i to argue real world physics in a stompy robot game :rolleyes:

Oh my god do I have use for this topic.

On one match today, some guy was in a Direwolf with an LRM 10, LRM 15, 2x ERPPC, UAC20 and I think 2x UAC/5s.
He didn't hit anything. I mean really. He couldn't hit ****. He was in advanced zoom mode the entire ******* match. AND he had about 5 shots of ammo for every gun. Including the missle launchers. Ran out mid-match.
This guy couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Clearly someone with a wallet bigger than their skill level.

And no, his ping wasn't rediculous. I checked first. It was only around 90. I've played at 150+ just fine. 90 is certainly doable.

If I hadn't sunk money into this game, I'd have quit for a loooooooong while. Yeah... I think I would have.

I am getting more and more disgusted with the quality of matches in the solo queue. I had no idea there were so many bad players that do not understand the absolute fundamental basics of this game... and they're almost always on my team.

The group queue is patently unplayable particularly around cease fire because so many teams are disgusted with the state of CW, they're just stomping the mud out of people there.

But now, I get to do the special torture of grinding my Resistance pack which are decent, but not exceptional mechs for now, stuck playing in totally unbalanced queues on all fronts that hands out roflstomp after roflstomp and just says "sucks to be you, punk". We want our insta gimp 'hard mode' (larf at the utter falacy that is) Clan Cheese that's safe as houses but kills you in an instant. God forbid there would ever EVER be a balance in weapon systems, and increase in TTK that can't be done till incorporate cone of fire and imprecision in all weapons. I'm just so sick of it.

But I'm having FUN! :rolleyes:

Uuuugh. . .

Multiple games in a row, all in Timber Wolves (mastering them!) where I kill no one and actually feel rather... underwhelming. And that is even with the meta builds (laser vomit, gauss vomit, wubwolf). I feel like utterly sucking, seriously. Out-traded at pokes, out of place, slaughtered alone, having gauss-crit, not centering aim on CT / other kill parts (**** 200+ ping at all times, and that's on a good day)...

Yeah, I feel like a wimp. What makes this unforgivable, though, is that I am freaking running Timber Wolves. I mean, seriously, the most OP mech in the game (subjective opinion), played POORLY!? Just... no.

Timberwolves are great mechs, but also perceived as the highest threat in game. So if you are playing at a level where your opponents have any wits about them you will be the first person targeted. Which makes timbers pretty tough.
But what I want to know is, why is my Griffin a priority target in the middle of a group of assaults and heavies? Maybe because they look so awesome and catch people's eye? Just having people overlook the Direwolf to shoot you is not something that happens in a cicada or even a centurion.

Because IS XL mediums with a decent hitbox for side torsos is considered an easy, quick kill?
