What the band/album you are listening to?

a german band called Perzonal War, they had to change their name 2002 from Personal War to that, guess why^^

I guess this is the appropriate place....
I seen PGI had the genius idea that mechs without engines can no longer be selected, you can't actually select them to put a f*****g engine in it so it's no longer invalid.
So i now have several mechs i own but can't use!.
Match Making.....yeah.....elo......yeah, what f*****g nonsense, want to kill your game PGI?, well elo and the current MM WILL do it.

TBH i really wish PGI would call it a day and just move onto something else.

That might be a glitch only on your end. I swap engines in and out of my mechs regularly, without issue.

Everytime I start to feel like I am bcoming an average player (or even above average) I start trying to play a new weight class. It keeps me humble.

This is pretty much what i've been doing lately except for one difference. My 4P has been getting 'one-shotted' A LOT lately, eerily fast deaths almost as if there are cheaters out there or i have a no CTR torso armour bug. This guy took a beating but was able to carry on My 4P just seems to die instantly if someone looks at me badly and yes i do have a lot of armour on the CTR.

Are you twisting enough with your hunch? Your ST is one onf the most valuable parts.
Make sure to stay just in range. With just a few metres.

For example 270 metres, get in range at 270 and not below 200< metres.

It's build for range and to shoot at range. Except for the high mount ST.

(I have no experience with hunchies, but this makes sense to me)

What I really need is Sarlic's Atlas to hide behind while I figure out this Cataphract ;) all the assaults I run into in pugs are too afraid to push, so if I stick wih them it makes for a very long boring round where I die last with very little damage.

Playing in my mastered hunchback, between Atlas and Victor. Victor and Atlas start shooting at raven. I noticed a Dire Las-hog behind me. I start moving and shooting, the Dire Wolf shoots out my double LRMS and Lasers. Atlas and Victor keep shooting at raven.

I'm killed by the direwolf. Raven moves away and the Dire kills the Victor by shooting its back.

I feel bad if I didn't get 200 damage. That game I got 50.

So i've been playing with high SPL count mechs lately like the laserback and the BJ-1X.

In the latter on tourmaline desert last night i came across a brand new shiny but straggling and abandoned atlas (poor chap didn't stand a chance). Racing down his flank at 116kph and across to his rear torso as he hadn't noticed my 45 ton mech i let him know my presence with an alpha to his rear centre. A glorious circle of death ensued with him barely able to land any decent shots on me as i tried to send the bulk of my alphas to his rear.

Unfortunately for me my team mates turned up at the penultimate seconds and stole the kill despite me removing both of his sides and cored him........One shot from killing him and it got stolen........ Oh well karma i suppose for stealing a kill from two of our lights on a previous match.

The most damage dealt reward isn't enough and it should be scaled based on the difference in weights between oponents and that should really of got me solo kill and brawling but i only saw the first. Reward system working as intended then.

Something not related to the game, but to the forums and the community. I'm keeping this short because honestly I don't want to talk much about this - I might ignite a firestorm in here if I did.

Is there nothing left of the positivity? Every time I look at the forums, it's all about the whine, the metagame, the flaws, and so on. Look, guys, I know what PGI has done, I know the feeling (engaging story-telling mode). I was there when GCrest America shut down TinierMe's US servers with only two months advance, and right on the heels of gachas (think random rewards) that got jacked-up prices as well, about three times as much as those that came before. I was there when Gaia Online had the Flynn's Booty fiasco and sunk into the deep, dark areas of pay2buy and hyperinflation that it neve quite escaped anymore. Two websites, one cheating its customers out of their money, and the other suddenly transforming its economy from a reasonably pay2getearly one to a hyperinflated mess of a pay2buy scheme where gold generators are king.

But, please. This whole extreme-negativity nonsense is destroying this community. Come on guys, it's not like this community needs any more destroying. I know Weismann and Harebrained Schemes are just around the corner, but as long as they haven't released a product of their own, MWO (and maybe MWLL, but that is honestly very faint) is our home.

I don't want to demand this, honestly, but it's getting on my nerves. Would you rather we have MWO, or nothing at all? Besides, I have a feeling that you guys just don't want to admit that the core game is fun in itself, flaws and all.

tl;dr, MWO is our home, don't destroy it with toxicity. Also, all your claims of it being dead are false (go flame me for being a white knight, see if I care), MWO is never dead unless it does shut down.

There is plenty of positivity on the forum, but it's hidden. Things like Scout Derek (and others) locusts give away...this thread isn't nearly as negative e as you might think...the new player help section is very positive...

It's just the negativity is shouted from the rooftops while positive people speak softly and confidently, but get drown out...

Questia, you're probably unfamiliar with what I'm about to tell you considering that last comment.

Claims of MWO's demise have been going on since, no jokes, at least 2 months before the Founders campaign began. Every single year we get a dozen or so threads declaring that MWO will be dead in 2 months. If by two months they meant "3 years, and counting" maybe those conversations could have gone differently.

However, positivity is there. Especially in the new player section, and pretty much anywehere that isn't General Discussion.

Agreed, just visit Iraqiwalker, Ovion, Tim East, and a a bunch of other guys at the Underrated Locust thread. There is plenty of love to go around there;) And ironically, this thread is one of the best places to get good friendly advice on the MWO forums. I like our community, you just need to learn to filter out the noise.

Every match tonight has felt like my team always ends up hiding behind the nearest building/rocky outcrop/fern/streetlight, while the enemy team, who is composed entirely of deadly accurate sniper mechs, obliterates all our CTs from all the way across the map, through whatever terrain feature we're pretending is protecting us...

Also, we never have ECM, but they always have at least 8/4 of their team carrying it.

Also, they are all equipped with strategic minds, the likes of Patton, Rommel, Hannibal, Bobby Fisher, Tyrion Lannister, or Zack Morris, while we are all on our side of the map like Barney Fife, Groo, Maxwell Smart, The Washington Generals, and the entire cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia...minus Frank.

Why can't we switch teams mid match?! ;)

Also, I'm pretty sure I've jumped into, what I can only assume is called, the "Anyone That Shoots at Rip Snorgan Cannot Miss" Bracket, and so far, it's absolutely living up to its probable name.

I had a HBR ECM yesterday. Told him a friendly advice if you are new here you should support your team with ECM.
Instead he ran off and told me 'Its pug'.

Well he just described how the solo que is in one word: pathetic.

Some are nice, others don't.

I always view solo drop PUG matches as a team death match on Solaris. A bunch of glory hungry Mech jocks (myself included), looking out for the camera pleasing kill shot and the highlight reel solo kill. The team is secondary, the money and glory are everything. ((Again this is for solo drop PUG matches only))
