I'm sad more people don't visit k-town. It's the best part of the forums and we get lonely there.

Lonely? What do you mean. The fun never stops in K-Town. There's always threads for us to play with.

Just got out of a match that left a decidedly sour taste in my mouth.
We dropped as a 6 with a 6 man CGB unit. I tried to get some comms going by asking them if they had a gameplan. I made a typo, so instead of responding constructively they took the mickey instead. the other team rushes us and no one even tries to communicate at all. they just ran. Why? because the other team was spamming arty strikes on cooldown at us throwing cbills at a pointless, meaningless win in a casual game.

I've tried to avoid this rubbish now I'm being forced into facing it everytime I group up with friends. WHY do other small premades not bother to talk? Why carry on like it's still the pug queue?
WAKE UP! It isn't! The game has changed now guys, larger premades are waiting to derp you for cbills.....presumably to pay for their noobstrike spam.

TALK TO EACH OTHER. Don't make it easy for larger groups to farm you. Because like the team we just faced, they didn't want to fight or play-they just wanted a notch on the metaphorical bedpost.

Don't keep handing them cheap wins.

We've had the same problem when we drop less than 7. Our DC tries to engage the others on our side but gets ignored.

Only match I got to play this evening... the group not with us on crimson straits in assault chase a direwolf into the tunnel entrance, and then proceed to play peekabo one at a time with it, despite my warnings of stay away from the tunnel entrance, 5 mechs died from dual guass, dual ppc and whatever else was in the tunnel with said mech and low and behold, 11 enemy mechs come rolling over the rest of us.

You should have been in the game we just came out of Mana....a marik premade whose sole tactic was to camp in one spot under ecm umbrella and spam lrms. They got one kill, and nobody did anything for nearly TEN FULL MINUTES. even they admitted it was bad. Someone dared to move and they got focused by a gigasalvo of lrms.
The full 15 mins elapsed, possibly the most boring game 24 people ever played.

A good, valid tactic for a tournament-but a terrible one for a casual game.
Players, the group queue is not a tournament. It's where people go to have fun. FUN.......F.U.N. Meta hugging, noobstrike spamming campathons are not fun-unless you are a masochist.

But if you are-glad you are happy ;)

But mark my words, keep on doing it and it will have an effect in the long run-one you might not like very much.

Lately, it's been far more fun to watch twitch streams of these bad games than to actually play through them...

Wait wait, this isn't a whine post at all! My glass is half-full of schadenfreude!

Thankfully, just a video game. Ironic action keeps the comedy in the tragedy. And PGI is full of it! :P

Where to begin?..... I´ll reinstall MWO in like 6-months once all the Clanning-buisness has hopefully been resolved. Because me and my lancemates collectively said "P2WIN!" and logged off today, indefinetly.

List of gripes, all clan-related:

- No ECM?.... LRRRRRRRRMMMMSSSS!!!!
- Insanely outgunned as a Heavy/Assault
- Cant get away from clanners fast enough in my jenner
- PUGs are nowadays 50% 12-1, 12-3 stomps because???? (see next)
- The team with more clan-mechs usually wins!
- Im not even kidding, my last PUG was a 12-5 loss, the survivors? 5 timberwolves, one Direwolf and a Cicada... Our team had a total of 3 clanmechs!!.. matchmaking much?

I know that in time this might be.... atleast slightly more bearable.... But this obvious P2W that we have here right now simply destroys any joy for us to bother playing it anymore. Playing in mechbuilders and watching youtube-clips makes us laugh in disbelief at what clanmechs are capable of.

Im a buissnessman myself... and "follow the money" is the sole reason this has happened. It was inevitable in time. I know this...
But it still saddens me, because up until now.... me and my lancemates never felt as discarded and ill-treated as we do now.

Im not angry.... Im sad that such a nice and enjoyable game suddenly became quite the opposite....

If it is stilll around in say.... 6 months? I´ll try again. Its to good a game to just discard.

Every time I see Koniving on the battlefield and say hi... he tries to kill me. ;) Getting a complex here.

Was I with him in any of those games? I usually egg him on "come on Koniving, bet you 5 bucks you cant kill Kjudoon again..."

LOL, JK.

Got the same thing going on with Hans Davion. He and I love to kill eachother, but he is just a bit better at killing me than me him.

My whine for today is... why people are whining about the larger groups (sorry Kamiko). Honestly, I have been having a blast again ever since they allowed larger groups. My friends list has expanded to 4 times its previous size, all active people. The majority of my play time is spent in a group of varied people that do not run meta, work well together, and have a ton of fun. Sure, we get face r*ped now and again, but we give as good as we get and only rarely have people on our team that suffer from chronic derposis.

Larger groups than 4 has caused a lot of people to intermingle with other players they know/like and have seen on the field which is a great thing. A lot of doors have opened IMHO, so this is my counter-whine! LOL

Actually me and kamiko were discussing this with some of my unit members last night, yes we have fun but have found that for us, there is a very specific time range when we primarily play when the group matches turn into severe meta fests with certain large groups using it for cbill farming, usually accompanied with the sarcastic gg close when they role over a group that hasn't gotten with the rest and then use weight of numbers to hammer the rest.

Not all games and groups like this but certain times it's very noticeable

Supporting that idea - I hate dislike playing before around 5pm local time.
(8pm Central Time)

Matches take longer to find, and they tend to be more dull, bland, or just plain bad.

If one is dropping at the "wrong times"....
(which is in quotes, because there are people who actually enjoyed those matches :))

Life can get really ugly.
