It's also pretty much pointless to argue that your bad non meta builds don't win or perform as well as a meta setup. Adapt or die to what's best like every game ever.

Dunno about that i watched an SJR group all bring Clan trials against a TCAF premade running meta IS and SJR won. I'm pretty sure teams like SJR, EmP, 228 etc could bring non meta IS builds and win quite a few games against Clans.

depends against who you fight on TCAF. apart from that, clan trials are not as bad as IS trials :P

well..it seems the it reg fixes have completely disappeared

Commando took 2 52 point alphas to hts CT before it died
Huggin took enough damage to its legs to kill an assault's CT
firestarter took 100 points of damage to its RT, and still had armor there...

I don't know the hit reg worked great on my locust for the one and only drop I had time for.
Hi Rip. As usual run with a daily whiner, die fast. Then to top it off my 'puter drops to bios before the end. Looked like a good match.

Well, other than our spectacular deaths in the opening seconds (my first drop on the new River City made for a bumbling "which way do I go George" opening gambit ;) ), it was actually pretty entertaining, until...

We got down to a Catapult carrying ONLY 6 x LRM5+Artemis, and a Stormcrow carrying ONLY 5 x LRM5+TAG, against a Hellbringer (non-ECM build at least, which they managed to kill), and of course, an ECM Raven. When the Catapult ran out of LRMs, I knew it was over. :P

Actually, I guess I would have to stay it was still entertaining then, just for different reasons.

All in all though, they did alright, and it was still fun, even for a loss. B)

That was exactly my concern when I heard they'd been announced. All that Clan technology, with an IS style build? I really wonder how they will be balanced so that we don't end up with a CW where every premier Clan unit is hitting the front lines of their Invasion corridors in what are essentially meant to be "Garrison/Solhama/Reinforcements when your supply of Omnis is tapped out" type mechs. :P

It bums me out that so much of the forum and clearly PGI skipped over what actually made omnipods so sweet (aside from repair times): The ability to swap pods when you find out your landing zone has been redirected from an arctic ocean to instead be into a volcano....

On the other hand, imagine what a densely cluttered UI they'd likely deliver... Maybe it's for the best....

Nobody in my real life plays battletech so they can't appreciate how impressive it is that my 3 year old son can name all of the mech's I own plus several tha I don't; which ones of those have jj and which don't, he understands the various weapons systems and has a basic knowledge of heat scale, not to mention his mad light piloting skills he uses to evade his mother in the restaurant :D

I think 3x officially wins today's internet.

Along with any odd number of parent of the year awards. ;)

There's a certain special kind of disappointment that comes with placing, quite literally, the PERFECTLY located Improved UAV...

You know, JUST behind the enemy line, where they don't notice it right away, if at all, and then even if they do, to get a decent firing angle at it, they either have to push forward and turn around to hit it, exposing their back armor to incoming fire, or fall back a decent ways and aim up, thus weakening the line.

To place a UAV in such a manner, and then see that your team completely fails to exploit the situation in any fashion at all, either by using all that useful position data to relocate themselves strategically, or possibly, even actually firing at them, or attacking in any way?

So be the woes of the forlorn Light pilot.

My whine is that there seems to be no reward for all the hard work people put into the Fan Fiction posts.
What's that? Some handsome rogue DID start a contest? And the prizes include the NEW Mech packs? Whaaaaaa?!? Clearly this (no doubt keenly intelligent) member of the community should spread the word of his AMAZING, COMMUNITY BUILDING, and ALL-AROUND-AWESOME contest, so that the masses may enjoy it! Too bad he's probably far, far too modest.

games where I want to get my x2... do not have that much time for MW: O that night, and do more damage then the top 5 highest damaging people on your team put together... and still lose...

Why do I always get the worst of teams lately... I would love to co operate and stuff but I got teams refusing to regroup even after a request and games where people just do not even want to win (mechs with 2+ tags for eg...)

Let me start that this game has pretty good solid core gameplay. The game is fun at times and when you are in a unit the game is pretty positive.
You get to know other nice, friendly people and ofcourse you like to pilot big, stompy and fat robots!

I love pilioting all of my Atlai.

But..

I am getting more worried by the day.

I sit in the que for -god- who knows how long que. I play for 1 or 2 minutes and get the team decides without acknowledging to NASCAR the whole map again. Perhaps even to spaaaacceee.

Or when you spawn in a heavy clan lance. Mucha fun..

Seriously this is getting on my nerves and it's getting worse. The speed of the gameplay is killing it for me. I cant keep up (and i think load of others) with the main pack anymore. No matter how hard i try:

I can try to cross and cut lanes but it always takes atleast a good chunk of my Atlas due that lasers/gauss combo mechs. I try to go counter wise and get my fingers crossed that the other people who are running half the map gets there in time before i get killed.
Then we have these lance people who just run away when you are fighting on the frontlines.
I haven lost count on how many times i simply get screwed over when i can't keep up.

Growing mad balls tired of this idiocity around here just because you are a fast clanner / mech does not mean you should leave other people behind!

Heck, i cant even kill or damage properly just because folks like to run as fast as possible to location X and alpha as much as possible to get -their- rewards. My kills and damage are in no were consistent anymore. It fluctuate pretty up and down.

I have been noting down about 8-10 matches this morning:

Up to 9-10 matches had signs of NASCAR and screwing people over. From all sides.
Avarage NASCAR is about 2-3 rounds.

It either result in a total win or a total loss and or atleast 1/3rd of the lance annihilated.

This seriously has to stop. Now. Or i just have a good reason to wait for new bigger maps and a overhaul of a reward system and or i avoid the weekends from now on.

What gives?

I'm more than half tempted to try my hand there at that. We'll have to see what kind of time I can wrangle up before the deadline. ;)

one huge problem of the atlas in current meta is that it doesnt have the long range capacity it requires these days.
the hardpoints are not good for it.
low energy/ballistic slots in such a tall mech.
lrm's... naaa....

not at this point.

Sarlic... you should consider to drive more mechs than just atlai.... for your own good =)
even the highlanders are worth more currently...

Will never stop piloting the Atlai!

Haha. I do pretty well only if its supported. Then i rack about enough damage to be satified.

But the problem is that it's that stupid curve. The one day nobody gives a crap and i do 200-400 damage. And then suddenly we have folks who are willing to think alone and play around Assaults and then i rack up to 800 plus.

It's just that the stupid that 9/10 matches goes like apesh*t and the last match is very entertaining because you know that people are not pressing W the whole time.

I care about the 9th match out of the 10. The rest is just pissing me off or getting on my nerves.

I will never stop piloting the Atlas, but i will quit the game if i don't like the new quirks and or Russ mentality of E sports ;)

I appreciate your thoughts and concerns!!
