here I was, thinking this event might not bring out the dumbest possible playstyles

I was wrong, dead wrong..

LRM assaults, ignoring assaults 300m away shooting them, so they can try to LRM the light running behind cover 900m away..for "KMDD"

I have had the misfortune of running the trial stalker for the event since I realized that I own no assault mechs on my main account. I do not however target light mechs with LRMS unless I have LOS and clear terrain...then they are fun to watch pop ;)

I've noticed when I spectate after I inevitably die due to bad positioning by me, a lot of my teammates either don't press 'R' to target, or keep firing on distant target with low hit chances while missing the red dorito that pops up in their periphery vision right in front of them. Like they have tunnel vision. Sometimes they will ignore damage they're taking in the back and continuing firing upon their original target.

But that's not my main gripe. I recently picked up some clan mechs so I could run the fabled UACs. Is there no way to run these except boating them? I'm trying to run a UAC10 on my timberwolf (just one, with about 5 er med las) but it keeps jamming every 2 shots. Am I doing something wrong?

That is just the risk of "double tapping" UACs. Don't want em to jam? Don't double tap.
Also, I do not know if you would consider 2x UAC 10s as boating, but I would give 2 UAC10s and 3 ErMLs a shot instead.

Hmm...but the rate of jamming seems so...random? I mean I know it's a RNG and all and maybe i just need to gitgud, but I have had instances where it jammed on my first shot after cooldown has finished. Maybe 2 UAC5s would perform better

The moment when you're playing XCOM 2...and you get an Operation Flaming Dump.

...And your whole team is burning holes in their pants from all the brown noise the aliens were emitting. How else could I explain the whole team panicking simultaneously, and then throwing grenades at each other?

On MWO:

The moment when you play in Group Queue, and it turns out some 12-man group went with a bunch of mediums and lights, each with two PPCs, and just gunning their engines while unloading torrents of PPC bolts on one target at a time...

The Inner Sphere does not have enough mech lube for my poor Kit Fox's rear CT.

Today I got 0 Scores, 0 Damage in my CN9-AH on 1 Match because I got shots at long range out of nowhere. This my worst games and experiences so far and I shame of it.

SOLO QUEUE.

And just to add insult to injury, I was actually teamkilled. Granted, I was already pretty damaged and we were down to the nitty gritty; but I thought it to be a fitting end suitable to our current matchmaking system.

Sync dropping at it's most damaging to the game, yet I doubt there is anything you can do to stop it, all people need is TS and a count down, and a button push

i dont even think its synch dropping that much, i had plenty of games where i was just solo dropping and had 2 unitmates with me in team. checked TS and none of the others been online there.

its just another flaw of the MM we currently have.

The Good: Out brawled a Timberwolf in my 2mpl/4srm4 griffon 2N. And got the solo kill on him.

The Bad: Pushed with the group...group didn't actually push.

The Ugly: I got lost on Terra Therma...Don't ask, I just did.

Is it too much to ask for heavies and assaults that don't cower behind the lights on their team?

Literally every single team that I've been on this morning has had nothing but cowardly LRM assaults and heavies who like to stand around lobbing missiles from 800m away, while the rest of us are getting wrecked by the opposition's brawling heavies and mediums.

This has got to be one of the first times that I've actually quit for the day from frustration. I don't know what it is with the pilots of heavies and assaults today, but they're...well, I'd have to say that a castrated rooster has more bravery than they do.

edit:

A suitable thing that comes to mind:

I find that happens quite often, Fox. Unfortunately people have figured out that if they want to achieve high kills/damage they have to survive longer. And the simplest way to do that is to stand behind everyone else and use their armour first before your own.

Did your team communicate properly with each other using the provided in game voip?
If not you have zero right to complain.
the only damaging thing about the game right now is the solo focus and the encouragement of for people to keep playing solo.Once that mindset is gone, no amount of syncdropping would phase you., as you'd naturally work as a team.
"I'll just do what I want to do" is the thing that pust you at the bottom of the proverbial pond-NOTHING ELSE.

Soon we'll be getting complaints about the unfair use of in game voip.

"they used voip and beat us with beter co ordination-it's not fair!!!"
"Erm, did your team use it?"
"Nope! why should we? I don't want to talk"
"But....it's not their fault if you won't work as team...."
"Yes it is, they should go play tournaments with the other elitists!!!!"
"Um...basic teamwork isn't elitist...."
"Yes it is, I don't have time to do that -I just want to log on and play"

"<stares blankly at the fail logic>"

That may be a silly example but it is EXACTLY how the pro solos think and speak. These same people think PGI should make the game cater to them ahead of everyone else.
Sorry bt I have to disagree with you vehemently. Player's lack of willingness is the isssue-not sync dropping. SPEAK and ye shall win....more often.
