The thing about star citizen missing their deadline, is that they explained themselves well, and since that point have been showing actual footage of actual progress toward the goal. We can see that they are in fact making the thing. It is coming out in a few weeks now.

What have we seen for community warfare here?

We have seen power point presentations, and that is it.

Despite supposedly at working on it for years, there is apparently no actual working code. It doesn't exist at all.

They were just talking about working on it but everybody knows that they were just cranking out mechs to sell.

What is hilarious is that the fact that they are asking the question, "HAY GUYZ, DO YOU EVEN WANT CW, OR SHOULD WE DO OTHER STUFF?? DERP!” means that they definitely have made no serious progress in its development at all.

If they actually had made any progress, they wouldn't be offering to just stop doing that and do other stuff.

The reason they are offering to " put cw on hold " is because they have done absolutely no community warfare development. "The plan" is a total farce.

This is easily proven to be false.

Sure it is, chief.
While you might be impressed by stuff you found in decompiled swf files, if any of that stuff worked at all you don't think they would have shown any of it off?

Of course you don't, because it doesn't fit into heffay's crazy fantasy world.

If cw exists in anything approaching a functional form, then pgi wouldn't be making ridiculous suggestions like, "hey, maybe we should just stop work on all this stuff that everyone has wanted for over two freaking years!"

And you know what? If it does exist, then prove me wrong, pgi! Prove me wrong! Show freaking actual footage of ANY OF IT. Cause we have seen none of it.

There WAS that Power Point presentation, which tells me that the cocktail napkin it was written on has been upgraded and is now CW 2.0

As people have observed on this forum before, CW is alive and well... PGI is at war with their community. They are winning every battle, but I must sadly predict they will lose the war.

No that was CW 1.5, which is bottle necking everything else, so they need to work on CW 2.0 for a bit and oh it will arrive but it will need lots of work, but that's just our position at this time.

You have weird expectations of video games.

Yes, I expect people who make the games to live up to what they say, weird I know. :)

Buyer beware. What they've said has often been naive and unrealistic (a frustrating but forgiveable sin in my eyes) and anyone who didn't know better doesn't have the faintest understanding of typical software timelines.

We're down to insults now, I see.

Do you really expect anyone to respect your position when you simply insult those you don't convince? Or purposely scan every forum in order to like every negative post you see? That's just trolling.

Nah brah,
In Notch's mind, only White Knights and Defenders resort to ad hominem, anyone else is just expressing an opinion. I know, it has a hypocrisy level of 9, but in his mind, that's how it works.

If you do not understand the implied insult inherent to this comment you are just as bad as Notch really.

It may be a forgiveable sin in your eyes for PGI to have over promised (repeatedly). For others it is not. There is no reason to marginalize their opinion because they do not know how the product is made. It is sufficient that they expected to receive what is advertised.

I do not know how to build or produce a car but if it performs very differently than promoted, a good word of mouth bashing should be expected. If it completely fails to perform or is unsafe, a company should conduct a voluntary recall or expect litigation for their failings. My lack of knowledge on how its produced or the timeline of production is not relevent.

I am glad PGI has not failed to such an extreme degree, but they still have not earned above a five on my metacritic review nor will I spend anymore money on PGIs product until they sharpen up. I wont promote it among my friends and family who do not already play it and I will warn anyone who asks that its fun in its way with significant shortcomings.

Were I not auch a huge fan of the franchise I am sure my patience with PGIs overpromises would long ago have ended and my wallet and myself would be elsewhere.

Eh, rather than the whole community warfare setup id rather see more Private Lobby options. Back in MW4's Hayday there were some really well thought out leagues with BTU and NBT: Hardcore being some of the most fun leagues that I ever participated in. Honestly id LOVE to see PGI step back provide more options for the community to provide the community warfare aspect while releasing content and maps to support this. Because no matter which way you slice it the community run leagues will more than likely be closer to what you want than what PGI currently has planned for the big CW picture.

I'd agree with you except you MUST earn cbills and exp or it's pointless. You can't have a league running if the players involved have zero opportunity to earn the rewards required to purchase new units, advance pilots, etc. and that's EXACTLY what PGI has stated they're going to do.

The only way to run a player league is private matches. Private matches = no rewards.

NBT was one of the best immersive experiences for a MW/BT gamer imo. Dp and his people really did set the bar imo.
