[Armored Yokai]

we all have our loved maps and hated maps, the one i despise so much are both versions of frozen city, what map do you hate?

Same, Frozen City. It makse my FPS bottom out and I can't do much on it.

My best and favorite is Alpine Peaks.

My most hated and despised maps are, first, HPG Manifold -God, I hate that frackin' map!- followed by Terra Mordor, and then Frozen City Night

I think my favorite maps, in order, would be...
1) Crimson Strait
2) Frozen City Day
3) River City Night
4) Alpine
5) River City Day

It's funny, the places you're not supposed to fight in, according to the Ares Conventions, are the places I love to play. I cannot wait for the night time maps for everything else, especially Crimson Strait, and I can't wait for them to open up the area at the top of the cliffs, and give us a way to get up there, on that same map.

I dislike small maps on Assault mode.

Other than that I like the variety of them all and hope we get a ton more maps.

Canyon - to small, to JJ dependent, Canyons offer no cover to LRM for the angle of their walls, Snipers have insane firelanes or take you off the tops, its allways a boring longe range fight until the finish or a superior premade roflstomps.

River City Day/night with the assault turrets.

All these months later and Alpine still makes me want to just disconnect as soon as I load it. I don't think they could possibly have come up with a bigger middle finger to brawlers if they tried (well, the lack of working SRMs comes close).

Mordor and Caustic are both almost as exposed as well, and the kicker is that they're so hot the snipers get a bit of extra advantage. I think Caustic has to take the cake though, for having turrets that can fire all the way into the middle of the caldera.

I don't like
1) Alpine Peaks for being inbalanced between the two drop zones. I don't mind that it favours long range weapons over brawlers, since there are enough maps that favour otherwise.
2) River City for being too small, especially in assault, although i wouldn't say that i don't like it. Just less than others.

I like the rest but favourites are Crimson Straits, Tormaline and HPG. I also enjoy Terra Therma most of the time. I think it's time for a new map though.

river city anything still tops my most hated list. especially now where it's "we line up on this side of the river and snipe/lrm you and you stand on that side of the river and snipe/lrm you. dip your toes into the river and here come the turrets. my medium brawlers have taken up knitting for the most of the matches here until one side decides to actually move. especially with both bases now on the bottom half of the map.

Terra Therma is by far the worst map. All maps have a central strategy but it all devolves into your team still having to play well to win (landing more hits and such from your cover) but Terra Therma is simply get the volcano and win. Your team has to really suck to get to the volcano first than lose the game.

only maps is I absolutely hate are river city night and Mustafar.

Forest Colony is my most hated map. Trees and low contrast visibility. Hate it. Second is River City day/night.

I like Terra Therma a lot, even though I hate it when pugging. This is a map that requires serious coordination.

My favourites are: Canyon Network (by far), Alpine, Caustic, Crimson Gay and HPG

Alpine Peaks.

I want to love it. First time I dropped it felt like a real Mechwarrior map form back in the day. I still wish Betty would tell me the planet, ambient temperature and local time when I power up.

However, the prevalence of I9 hill makes the largest map play too similarly match to match in Assault and Skirmish.

Additionally, the current Conquest point arrangement makes the game feel like a Battlefield 3 map (I am suggesting that this is a bad thing).

Frozen city (day or night), there are way too many rocks and buildings that you constantly get stuck on, you can't really use torso twist properly because of all the numerous obstacles and you get stuck right in the middle of combat if you are not looking exactly to the front.

Terra Therma is really a map I hate to play on. That damn layout and all looks the same, you get stuck on every little rock and if you're "lucky" you can run for miles without seeing anyone.

Beside that, I like all other maps actually...

TBH, it's not the map but the thermal vision mode.
It doesn't just suck, it actually vacuums.

I dislike Tourmaline because I've gotten it significantly more than any other map. And I'm starting to build a healthy dislike of Caustic not because of the map itself, but because people like to run up to the crater and play peek-a-boo, everyone is too paranoid to push into the other team, and if just one guy in a light or fast medium had a UAV the game would end in like 2 minutes, but no one dares pack a UAV because... I dunno, I guess they don't want to spend 40k c-bills? I guess that's spending too much for a win.
