One quick question... to reach the elite exp tree do i have to keep the 3 meks variants with the full basic experience or i can sell them and still unlock the elite branch?

All XP unlocks remain once you have them, even if you sell the mech.

(Weirdly, in UI2.0, there's no longer any way to see them, though)

You'll get no argument from me.

Or anyone else.

One note: if you have already finished all the basic skills - there is no reason to rebuy that specific chassis again, unless you want to play that specific chassis.

You need 3 variants of one chassis to unlock Elite - but only three variants of one full weight class to unlock master.

Got a little confused here...

So, i leveled 3 commando variants, it unlocked the Elite for the commandos

With the same 3 commandos variants, it already unlock the master tier?

or do i need like, 1 commando, 1 jenner, 1 locust with the elite tier full?

Three Commandos will work, but a COM, a JR7 and a RVN would too.

This is why I recommend starting each class with a chassis with multiple strong variants: Then you can level those three and if you want to cut corners on future chassis, you can.

In any weight class:
1. Buy 3 of the desired chassis. (same mech)
2. Complete all 3 basic levels.
3. This unlocks Elite.
4. Complete Elite for all 3 to unlock Master.
5. Once you have all three Elite finished. You can sell 1 or 2 of the mechs and only Master the one you want.
6. Once you have those elite's finished, it's easier to finish another mech from that class (ex. Mediums) Lets say you have finished 3 Hunchbacks up to Master unlock, but you now want to do the same for Centurions. You still have to buy 3 new Centurions and finish basic on all, but now you only have to finish Elite on one to get to master.
7. If you change classes, say from Light to Medium, you have to repeat 1-4 again.

Added note: You only have to finish elite on 3 mechs in a weigh class to have the shortened path to Master unlocked, but that means you would have to buy at least 6 mechs minimum to get the basics finished to get to elite. You could then finish Elite on 2 mechs of a type and one of another type to meet the requirements for Master.

The others did a fair job - but I went for a more detailed explanation here

got it... so...

Just to clarfy a bit more...

1 have 1 COM-2d full on basic...
Bought a COM-1A, put it full on basic.
Sold the Com-1A
Ill buy another Variant of commando, to fullfill the basic tier

Now my com-2d can fullfill the elite tier.

But to reach the master i have to put 3 other lights mechs (any chassis) on elite right?

No once you get those 3 commando's unlocked to master (you do not have to unlock master on all 3, just 1 commando, you just have to unlock all the elites on the commandos), then say next you go for the jenners. You still have to take 3 jenners through basic, but after that you can elite to master only one jenner variant instead of again taking 3 jenners all they way through elite.

At least I think that is the case LOL. I might have just even confused myself... It has been awhile since I unlocked a set of mechs all the way as I pretty much just stick to playing a few lights.

It's actually a total of 3 but yeah. Also you could've just elited all 3 of the commandos, so you could take the one to master w/out worryin about buyin and eliteing 2 other chasis's to get to master tier w/ur com-2d

What is unlocked stays unlocked
But
You have to work your way up each time.
Finish [Elite] on 3 different light mechs?

[Master] is unlocked for all light mechs - but you still have to work through [Basic] on 3 variants to unlock [Elite] to work through Elite to access Master.

IE:
Bacics done on 3 Commando
Elite done on 1

1/3 toward Master unlock for all light mechs

Buy 3 Ravens (for example - all at once, or one at a time - either way works)
Basics done on Ravens
Elite done on 1

2/3 toward Master unlock for all light mechs

Buy 3 Jenners
Basics done on all
Elite done on one

3/3 All light mechs have access to Master

Buy 1 Spider
You can work the Basics - but Elite is still locked (For that Spider) till you buy the other two - and you cannot access [Master] until you have worked through [Elite] for that chassis.

Usually suggested to take a whole family and work all the way through the Elites for the Chassis so that you don't have to worry about it - which I did, which resulted in me needing to create an Alt-account to test everything >.<
