Just had a game where we rolled the other team in just over three minutes with the in game chat stating that teamwork is OP and Premades hard to beat along with all the other bull that gose with it, we even admitted to them that we all are using the new 'Teamwork hack' including the pugs on our side which we kindly gave them, free of coarse. So this is for all of you that have to complain about being handed a new rear end while in game chat, stop trying to be a little 'John Wayne', this is not hollywood and get yourself the all new 'Teamwork Hack' at

http://www.teamspeak3.com/

Any team, (including premades) can be beaten with the Teamwork Hack and it can be found on any public chat server that is being used for MWO!

By "pugs" I assume you mean "everybody but myself", right? And I should be sure to proclaim that loudly in all caps with as much profanity I can squeeze into the text box as possible. After all, people know you're right when you attach an f-bomb to every noun.

If that doesn't work, I can always blame some random weapon for being OP.

Sounds like a matchmaker Elo problem. You dont need teamwork to roll a worse team, and it isn't anything to brag about. It just means the game is failing on a fundamental level, and is in real danger of alienating new players.

I admit I don't use teamwork yet so enlighten me... does this hook you in to everyone who is on your team for that match?

This really only works for premades, but sure...call VOIP teamwork instead of...oh, working as a team in game. VOIP helps, but is not the solution to bad piloting/aiming.

William, if you're being serious, then here is a serious reply:

Teamspeak is 3rd party VOIP (voice over IP) software, that each client needs to download, install, and meet on the same Teamspeak server. Many clans (not to be confused with Clans in MW) offer such a server for their members to promote teamwork and communication, given that for most people, talking is faster than typing and they can still pilot their 'Mechs while they do it.

So in a premade, where people know each other outside the match, this is very possible and heightens teamwork and communication. In a PUG, the person hosting the server would have to place in the IP, give everyone a chance to tab out (or switch windows in windowed mode) and connect to their server, and get back in before the enemy team gets into a position to simply stomp them.

If it was sarcasm you intended, however...whoops.

wow this doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before. Not like anyone, even those who have posted their TS info to free Faction AND Lonewolf sites with no strings attached, have EVER thought about this before. What a game saver....just WOW.

really though, a search and a SCAN of ANY of the in game voip threads, or of the FACTION threads would have ended the need for this thread ever having been created.

The majority of these "PUG stomps" are actually just a case of poor matchmaking.

The weekend of the tournament I was on my nub account with about 30 games played and I kept seeing names from the Top 10 in my games. Pretty sure matchmaking is nonexistent at this point.

Maybe you are just that good? :)

Doesn't the matchmaker look for players within a 1000 point range (after they last extended it)? That would mean a skilled player (2100) could be put in a match with a below average player (1100*), but not a poor player (700).

* I believe the 'average player' is around 1500, but I may be wrong with the numbers.

With so few games I'd be just out of my Cadet Bonus and my ''real'' Elo would get reset at the default. Is it 1500? If what you're saying is correct there might be even fewer people playing MWO than I thought.

A thousand point range?? That means an average Elo player might see 2100's in one game and 700's in the next. Which would actually explain a lot.

Holy shit.

So basically if you're an average solo pug player you're stuck hopeless in Elo hell unless you start grouping up.

Wonderful.

Well, it could also mean that most players are close to base elo range.
Scoring high in the tournament doesn't mean your elo is high.
It means you played much, spammed arti every match, and had 10 good matches out of the 200 you played for the weekend.

Since scoring high is not only dependent on your own skill, but also the skill of the guys you play against, the chance of a slightly above medium skill player to do well against medium skill players is just as high as the chance of a high skilled player doing well against above medium skill players.

Heck, a player could be in the lowest bracket of elo hell, still getting the best socre in the tournament. In the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king.
