That is, if the Clan mechs are like they are in TT. If not, my own Inner Sphere outfitted Timberwolf will stand as a vanguard against the Clans. >:3

Yes because community warfare would be DOA if only clan players could use clan mechs. Once Timber Wolves are available for Cbills I would not be surprised to see 12 vs 12 Timber Wolf games all of the time.

You whack-job flying nutz will have BSI looking forward to see how different MWO plays out from BT lore buddy ;) We've already wiped the floor with some wolves and jaguars in 12man drops.

We will see, the warden Wolves do not have the will to conquer the Inner-Sphere and the Jaguars are mindless predators, blinded by blood lust.

Techically not due to the honourable format we are bound to (3/3/3/3) so I feel I should mention that my recently recaptured Daishi will be an exception to that morass of Timber Wolves.

See you on the battlefield.

Ah, true, I had forgotten about the 3/3/3/3 matchmaking. It is funny that IS can "capture" clan mechs before they have even encountered any on the battlefield, it is sad that lore has been thrown out the window. I will be sure to destroy your Dire Wolf with my Summoner, or even more gloriously, in my Kit Fox if we ever end up on opposite teams.

I await the battle with much anticipation - just to make it easier to find me I've even painted it gold.

(Technically I think we went well past the date we'd fight the clans didn't we before they reset the date back? I don't really look at lore in any game with hard points tbh as like most old farts I come from a 1980-90's TT background. Ahh the days when your AC5 was vastly inferior to your large laser!) ;)

I hope that inner sphere stays inner sphere and that the clans deploy only 8 mech teams. That would be the kind of balance i like to see.

You mean two stars quiaff (10)?

(Doesn't really work unless you restore clan tech to as it was in TT when it becomes ridiculously OP. Also doesn't really work when clan honour rules aren't included and that's never worked in a competitive game as far as I'm aware. Lets be honest as the conflict went on a lot of clans dropped that rule set with excuses. Waiting with trepidation to see how the mechs compete as (despite digging into my wallet happily) some of the clan mechs look awful.)

One thing that occurred to me this morning is that Mez, and lots of other players, may be unfamiliar with WHY a lot of HHoD members play to survive even when stripped.

Many of the members of HHoD take part in 3rd party league play where EVERY death matters. Proxis, MRBC, etc. are all 3rd party content and have varying rules, making us use different loadouts, comps, tactics, etc. Many of those leagues have a point value or something similar attached to the mech you're piloting, causing its destruction to matter in various ways. So, with that in mind, pretty much every match can become survival training. If it were a league match, and we died, our opponent would get 'X', so we play to win in that mindset.

Hopefully this clarifies some of the decisions made on the field for you Mez. Every drop is training for league play, because pointlessly banging robots together gets old after a while.

I am posting this not as an apology, nor for any type of sympathy. I am simply stating some facts about myself, that being said. I am a disabled veteran with PTSD and when something makes me mad I have a tendency to explode. Now that being said after a day and my medications I have this to say. I did cross a line by giving out Irons Coordinates, though he was against a Stalker with no ammo and a legged spider. Could they have caught him with my direction with him doing about 76 KPH,I truly doubt it. Was what I did honorable, not at all. Do I believe holding 24 peoples mechs hostage for close to six minutes much better? No I do not and I also do not believe that with having two kills to his credit would have been such a negative affect on his stats, enough to hold our mechs hostage for that length of time. Now as for everyone who wants to hunt me down, well I am a Clans man and I always state so before the match starts. So ok everyone wants to hunt me down and at the same time I want to kill all enemies I face. I issued a challenge to Iron,if Iron does not wish to accept it,then that is up to him.

Ok,

let me say, I think Helsbane said it the best, his words are golden.
1. Thank you for your service, seriously.
2. I'm sorry for the trauma you are living with on a daily basis.
3.TY for the explanation

Now for a bit of a soap box:

No one on here said anything that would de-dignify the situation. One thing this game has been missing, and is a key component in Battletech, is Inner sphere Vs. Clanners. I laud you being the precursor to that happening in the near future, you started something that needed to be started, so good for you, and good for us. The down side, you started it lol and sadly, until there are enough clanners in the game, your name will be emblazoned on many a mechs windshield. This is good for the game, period, and has been a key part that has been missing.

However, you now have some seriously talented folk out looking for your name on the opposite team. That's not gonna change any time soon. You will enjoy our guns protection when your on our team, you will suffer their wrath when opposing, and great googaly moogaly so help you if you face one of our 12 mans in the near future, if you are even involved in 12 mans.

Your expectation should have been that we would chime in and threaten and bluster, the real tests for you shall come in the near future, most Davion warriors will be on the lookout, this is not "Dezgra" as you test tubers would call it, we are clearly telling you that you have become target #1, there is no secret here, nor any mis-communication, or even any "quit the game" mentality being thrown at you, it is all in the vein of what you began, so live through it vicariously. You will not be "TK'd" ever, for the simple reason that we do not do that, and never will, we have more "Honor" then that.

Understand, you and I, if on opposing teams, are going to tangle, I will have your figurative head on a stick trashborn, it will decorate my office. And I shall ensure that Iron gets to keep it for a few weeks on his mantle.

This is more fun then I've had in months!!!!!!!!

Such faith in vaporware... you clanbois do realize we can actually aim in mwo without the benefit of a die roll? Your goofy shapes and low slung weapons are NOT going to do you any favors vs IS when the ball drops. Don't get me wrong I'm excited about my Blackhawk too but if you thought the dragon was bad get ready to reap the whirlwind...

Maybe, maybe not. Shape is overrated as an awful lot of the best regarded mechs for 12 man I find equally easy to nail. Ultimately anyone that claims they know anything about the clan balance currently is blowing hot air.

I understand where you are coming from but my remark is based on weapon placement and shape. Both well known factors and largely unchangeable. They ALL have belt level weapons, most feature humongous side torsos that will be exposed from every possible angle and prominent ct snouts that should be engageable from 270* and to make matters worse only what, Two? have jets.

Thor will do well (and possibly madcat as it looks to have thin enough STs to cover the snout a bit aka k2) but the rest of these things are gonna leave some basement dwellers drowning in tears.

Be honest, can you see ANY possible reason to take a Ryoken over a shad?

A Star contains five mechs, so it would be 10 vs 12, but that is not going to happen in public matches since PGI is going to allow IS to drop mixed with Clans.

Loadout, superior (somewhat) clan tech and an XL engine that requires both torsos to be destroyed before the mech is destroyed.

Not vaporware, mechs are the one thing in MWO that PGI has never failed to deliver (forget about MASC variants).

Besides, the tech swore that it had laser reflective qualities.....

I agree. I see this as all harmless play. Puts some of the Lore back into this game. Something we have all been missing. If anything I would like to thank you for starting some IS vs Clan talk. Its about time. Thanks.

And 3000 years from now a child is going to sit on his grandfathers knee and ask him, "Grandpa, when did this all begin, the killing, the war, and all the destruction?"

The grandpa leans over and pulls his grandson in and tells the story of the time where a lone clanner stood proud for his cause and tried to kill the Arch Duke Iron. No one knew then, but that was the first shot in the war that we have been embroiled in for the last several millennium.

The child quips back "all of this because of one comment, grandpa?"

"Yes, my boy there are times where a pebble turns into a landslide and at that time no one could have imagined the power of the one comment. It turned out to be the rally cry of the inner sphere, I can remember it today as it was told to me when I was a child ,I challenge Iron to a duel any time, all he has to do is contact me."

Don't worry boy, we have the best pilots and the best mechs, we will prevail.

adde parvum parvo magnus acervus erit
