Three guesses what Alpha lance did when they saw Roadbeer and Davers on the other side of the drop.

went after them with vitrol and venom. Don't you know that killing ROADBEER gives you 10 internets. well if you had ever talked with someone from house marik you would know what it's all about.

As for the OP. Yes there have been a LOT of LYRANs on over the last few days. I suspect they are trying to do something like Marik Monday Madness where everyone gets in the same channel as a solo player, all set to a specific game mode, one person in charge counts down and they all launch at the same time. Then once they see who they are with they pick a secondary channel and everyone in that game drops to that channel for the duration. After the game is done they go back up to the main channel and do it again. I say good on them, Mercs rarely stood a chance against a Vetran house unit in most of the lore but there were always the odd surprises out there. Think of it as a taste of CW and get used to it because if this isn't the norm, the game will be dead before 2015 is half done.

I blame two things,
1) The recent weekend faction challenge and,
2) Stingray

Well, since they opened it up to a 1400 range, does it really matter? 700s are dropping against 2100s

There are no buckets right now, that is the major issue with MatchMaker, you can be at a completely different Elo and still be in the same match currently. Average Elo teams allows this.

Sure, but am I 1400 dropping with other 1400's or 700 bringing the 3-man average down to a manageable level? (I obviously have a personal preference )

The short version:
Until PGI allows some form of group drops 5-11, this will continue to happen. Like it, hate it, irrelevant. PGI's stance is group prohibition rather than finding a way to enable and thus control it. We all know how the Prohibition turned out.

I don't know, Roadbeer. I would guess you (and particularly you + Davers) would way out-Elo me, but I see you two on a pretty regular basis and I pug 90% of the time. I'm frequently the 4th man in a 3-man pre made lance; I think my stats are weak, but I hold locks on targets and encourage Leeroys to come back before they get killed, for whatever that's worth.

What Elo bucket am I in? :)

I don't know what bucket you are in, but you keep excellent company. :)

What I don't understand is why people want to play a game of unit combat like they are Rambo? The better a team works together the better their chance of winning.

What they are working together?

That's wrong! If I am playing solo they have to!

I know, and I won't discuss it but can say that I have seen it happen in game as well. Although you should blank out the names in that pick if you are insinuating something.

Congratulations to the online player group who shall remain nameless, that I saw online today, sync dropping with as many of their members possible on the same team....I strongly suspect that we had 2 or 3 of em on our team as well, given how useless they were, and given that they were from the same faction.

Said players bragged in game about using "true teamwork", wow, that's awesome, one team all on comms vs. a pug team, in which I was one of a 4 man.

Seriously guys, grow up, no-one else gives a rats backside about the size of your epeen, if you wanna drop with 12 guys, join the 12 man team queue, trying to play 12 mans vs. pugs is lame and weak, you should be a little ashamed of yourselves.

/End Rant

yeah i don't care much for it, my small group of friends were going to merge with a couple of larger group a couple of times but every one of them was doing this. wasn't sporting in the least...on top of that when the sync drop failed they wouldn't go to separate channels and had to listen to two different groups call different targets...stupid on many levels

Hell, I'd even accept a glass half-full compromise of a queue that ONLY allowed 4-mans in it...if we could take 4, 8 or 12 at once.

Make it PLAIN that you CAN and WOULD be pairing 3 4-mans vs. a 12-man in the extreme cases. I'd GLADLY take that over the 4-man + pugs queue or the '12 man only screw you smaller gaming groups' queue.

Like coffee, I'm bitter but invigorating in the morning.
