I like how many suggestions meet disagreement from the forums because it would be a "waste of ressources" and "other priorities are higher", but when it comes to a mech design that everyone will have exactly one giggle at and will never touch it again, all of you suddenly want it.

As I've said several times throughout this thread, I do not believe this will be a joke mech. Think of it on defense in CW - think of tons of these little hard to hit, hard hitting, hill humping things giving an invader headaches.

Only to be replaced by : "Your best Urbie battle stories"

yesterday on HPG Manifold spider-urbie with it's dying ac10 round killed a king crab face to face just as a non spider urbie killed it about 1 second later, adding it to the warhawk that also fell to it's urbie-like fury earlier in that match. we still lost though (looks for the "carry harder" thread). one teammate said "urbie OP! PGI please nerf!" after he watched me kill the crab.

It will also likely get some pretty good structure and armour quirks if it winds up in game. You'll have to downgrade the autocannon if you want to get to slow medium speeds, and get an XL if you want to get to Clan light speeds, but a pint sized AC5 with some good velocity and cooldown quirks could be a real pain in the arse.

Dear god, can someone please post an image or screencap of what was in the email? There's like 3 new pages of talk about a possible urbanmech and no one posts an image -__-

Some of us didn't get the email. And yes, I checked my spam/junk folders.

I'll also note that the majority of the artwork is at FD's normal (ie amazing) pro quality, while the sack and the hat look more like his quick sketching style. Seems very much like an authentic concept for the Urbie that got a sketch over for the email.

that sounds about right :)

How do you figure? It's not like it'll be a TT Urbanmech. It'll be (probably heavily) quirked, have endo (and potentially ferro), and be able to mount an XL. It's a 30t light. Maybe it'll ha e a lowest engine cap, and maybe it would t be used in comp drops (hard to say without knowing specifics) but said folks are a gross minority.

I expect it to be an entirely usable light.

All of this. I mean, I don't think it'll be a beast like TDK, but it will be a good mech for the weight and purpose. On defense on CW? I think it'll be just fine.

Imagine a tiny target about the size of a Commando that can hill hump and, oh, by the way, pack a Gauss Rifle or AC20. Even an AC10, could be painful if someone's not expecting it. Or flip out the big ballistic for a small one and pop in an ERPPC, PPC, or LPL. It's not like you're taking away a scout mech here.

I don't think it'll be a meta-mech, but it'll have its niche, for sure. As I said, on defense? When the enemy HAS to come to you? Perfect.

Even then, the TDK was DOA for how long until it got a bigger engine?

Perfect size for an AC20 or Gauss to an assault mech knee actuator ;)

Just picture that little bugger standing victoriously over a legged direwolf.
