I hope so, we have bugged them enough after all

If we use my younger brother as a "bugging" scale, I'd say we haven't gotten to the "enough" point yet.

This is painful! Come on PGI, give us the URBIE. Half the player base would PAY for this mech. Don't tell me your as stupid as you look. The community wants this as much as CW. Think about the new "quad" you could get, or new platform shoes!

Even in an urban environment, I would take the Pirahna. The Urbanmech (stock) is far too slow. The only reason they were effective was as a surprise by being there in the first place when no enemy force was expected, and it was usually by hiding in cored out buildings in large enough numbers to quickly take out the enemy. None of that will be true in MWO, so I will take 12 MGs and speed anyday.

Surprise.

With that speed, though, evidently on concrete, asphalt, etc. mechs would slip and slide (if movement was properly done in MWO). My Kintaro in a megamek (digital TT) match slipped and fell.

PTC had a Jenner that on the first move, tried to take a hard turn without thinking while going maximum speed (97.2 kph). Slid and fell, landing on the back. The pilot lost consciousness in the fall. It skid 90 meters (making 3 skids, each time taking extra damage to the back, destroying all the armor) and after the third skid had been thrown to the edge of the map, causing an automatic retreat.

Know what I say? Screw your speed. I'll stick to be safe in the street. Just, I won't be sporting flags when I try to hide behind the low ground.

Dynamic entry is how. You launch that sucker from orbit, and just let it smack down. It might do more damage just from the impact shockwave XP.

Let me put this delicately:

You people debating the Urbie based off of capability are REALLY DENSE.
It isn't even remotely about effectiveness.

"Don't release the Urbie, the Mauler is a better mech"...

You really don't get it, do you? That zing sound you hear? That's the whole point flying right over your head.

Cute.

I guarantee the same people remain just as confused.

And I can guarantee it will come up again, as it has every 2 pages on this thread since it was created. Since this thread will continue to live until our glorious overlord Urbie arrives on the battlefield, its worth it to remind the witless horde they really need to buy a clue.

One can wish the unbelievers would get it. But alas.

Maaaaan...this is sad. People are still harshing each other in this thread? Yeesh. Get over it already. The Urbanmech is horrible – cute, and an interesting idea in a TT campaign/realism-based game (ultra-cheap city defense for people with cities to defend and an unconventional budget plan), but it would be so horrifically bad in MWO that even its most die-hard of fans would abandon it in disgust a couple of weeks after its release.

Let the UrbanMech live on in the idle daydreams of its fans. That’s where it’s at its best. No need to expose it to the harsh, brutal realities of MWO, eh?

We know it's not the best mech. We don't care. We want it for the fun factor.

EDIT: Also, of course it's gonna keep happening. When geniuses like you keep bringing it up.

It's not about how good the urbanmech is, it's about how good we'll feel when it's in.

Also if they do add it in, I bet they'll say "Screw canon" and make a super special variant that is a running trashcan with a 300xl engine and 6 energy hardpoints, just for fun. And not have any actual variants.

Why? because it's cool.

I'm not as bad a person as the folks wanting to drop the poor li'l UrbanMech onto Alpine, am I? :(

Serious note now - does anyone expect this 'Mech to live up to its hype if Piranha does release it? Even people who know it's horrible will likely be surprised by just how horrible it is in the environment of MWO. Really...just let the poor little guy play in his TT sandbox in peace.

The Mechlab is my sandbox, and the battlefield is my playground.

Let the UrbanMech play in the sandbox, and then let us make the other children cry.

That's a great IDEA! First few guys killed can elect to switch into a turret for the rest of the game! I dig it!
